Kieran's POV

The sun was already creeping through the curtains, and Elara was curled beside me, still asleep. She looked soft. Peaceful, even. I stayed still, not wanting to ruin the moment. Everything was quiet, just the sound of her breathing and the occasional sound of birds chirping outside. It was the kind of quiet that felt rare, like the kind that only showed up when the world finally decided to slow down.

My arm had gone numb under her weight, but I didn’t mind. There was something grounding about having her here. After everything, the chaos, the fights, the moments I wasn’t sure I’d earned her trust, this felt... good.

Better than good. It felt like something was finally settling.

I stared at her lips for too long, then leaned in and kissed her, gently and slowly.

She stirred eventually, eyebrows scrunching a little before she blinked up at me. There was a second where she just stared like she was making sure I was real. And then her eyes shifted and I mean literally. They g

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Fifty-One

Elara's POVI woke up to a strange, metallic scent filling my nose, instead of the usual warm, amberwood scent that filled our room. I opened my eyes and looked around the room, and strangely enough… it wasn’t our room. The bedsheets were rough and cold to touch, the air was cold too, and the whole room smelled wet and metallic. What was even stranger was the fact that Kieran wasn't here. I remembered dozing off after telling him about the vision I had.So where the hell was I?I sat up slowly, my instincts on edge. The walls in the room were too close, and the ceiling was too low. My stomach twisted. Something about this place felt wrong.I noticed the door was open. I slowly got out of bed and stepped into a dark, narrow hallway. The stone walls were uneven, scratched, and smeared with blood. That was where the metallic scent came from. Was this… a dungeon?I was certain it was my dream, it had to be, but why here? Weren't dreams usually in familiar locations? Then I heard a woman s

Saffron's POVThe kiss wasn’t just a kiss anymore. It was a claim. One that melted everything in me down to want and fire. His lips were still on mine when his hands found the knot of my bathrobe, pulling it loose with a slow, almost practiced tug. The fabric loosened and slipped apart, baring me inch by inch. The air hit my skin first as he paused, his breath hitching as his eyes roamed my bare body. His voice was low as he said, “You’re perfect.”I wanted to hide under the blankets and cry. Or maybe pounce on him. Both seemed valid.I noticed he still hadn’t taken off his shirt.“Take it off,” I whispered, my fingers curling into the hem of his T-shirt.He yanked it over his head in one smooth motion, and I nearly moaned at the sight. Broad chest, strong arms, and smooth feeling of his well-defined abs. Then he kissed me again, slower this time, dragging his tongue across my bottom lip before sucking it into his mouth. His fingers gripped my hips like he was trying to ground himself

Saffron’s POVTobias’ house was exactly what I expected—and yet, it wasn’t. It was clean. Spotless, really. Not a speck of dust, no clutter, everything was where it was supposed to be. The scent of pine and aged wood filled the air, tinged with a sharper edge that was just... him. It was clearly a bachelor’s home—no softness, just sharp corners, dark wood, and leather furniture that was probably super expensive. But it lacked color. No paintings, no throw pillows, no plants. Just black, gray, and a dark navy that blended into the walls so well it almost looked natural. It was like walking into a very organized cave, functional, masculine, and cold.Still, I liked it. Because it was Tobias’ and even in the stoic silence of his house. I felt... safe. I didn't want to leave again.“You like it?” He asked.I nodded as I turned to him. He’d been worried, like really, really worried. I saw it in the clenched fists he tried to hide earlier and in the way his voice dropped whenever he thought

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty-Eight

Tobias’ POVI was furious with myself for letting her get hurt. I should’ve kept her safe, far away from Magnus. Instead, I let her join the pursuit, convinced we could handle it. I should’ve been more careful, but somehow she ended up hurt. Seeing her wolf form groaning on the ground nearly made me lose my mind.My wolf was pacing inside me, growling and snarling, blaming me for her injury. And he was right. But the woman in question? She was now sitting on the infirmary bed, laughing. Laughing about pretending to be unconscious, like I hadn’t just nearly lost my mind watching her bleed in front of me.She probably has no clue about what I went through. And the worst part? As I look at her now… I couldn't even stay mad.“Tobias,” she called me softly after Kieran and Elara left. I didn't answer; I just sat still on the chair trying to steady my breathing, trying to calm both myself and my wolf. I almost crushed her when I hugged her earlier. My muscles were still tight from the adre

Elara's POV We finally made it back to our room. The journey from the infirmary to our room was barely five minutes, yet my chest felt heavier with each step. It was as if my body had arrived before my mind did. The moment the door shut behind us, it was like all the noise outside went dead silent. But inside me? Chaos everywhere.“Tonight was a long one,” Kieran muttered, shrugging off his top.I didn’t answer; I just stood there in the center of the room, frozen. My chest was tight. Too tight. He stepped forward and gently caught my arm. “Moya,” he said quietly, turning me to face him. His voice was low, like he was trying not to spook me. “I know. Tonight was the longest one yet... especially for you.”His hands moved carefully, beginning to undress me, removing the hood and slipping fabric over my head. “Just shower,” he murmured, “so you can finally rest.”But I couldn’t move.I sucked in the air, but it felt like it wasn't reaching my lungs. “I—”The vision and the memories fro

Elara’s POV "I remember everything that happened that night," I told him. Kieran didn’t hesitate. He pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me like a shield. The warmth that came from him and the weight of his embrace made me feel so safe."You're all right now, Moya," he murmured into my hair, his voice low. “Do you want to talk about it now?”I hesitated for a second. "When you're ready to talk about it, we will. I'm just glad you got back your memories and your voice. Now I can find the bastard that did this to you and make him pay," he growled.I nodded, pressing my face into his shoulder. The tremble in my hands eased just slightly. I don't know what I would do or how I would react if I ever got to see him again. He pulled back, just enough to look me in the eyes. "You know you can talk now, right?" he said with a small, teasing smile.“We'll talk about it later tonight,” I finally replied. “But first, let's go see Saffron. Tobias didn't look too good.”“Right,” he
