Chapter three

     CHAPTER THREE 

Halfway through the meal the hypocrite lady came in, The last person  I wish to see right now. She was breathing so fast like someone who just ran a marathon.

  Everyone one attention turned to her,  Probably they were all wondering why she was running and breathing so fast.

The first to ask her was Alpha Brian. “Rose, why were you running on your way here?”

Rose chuckled. “I ran all the way here because I heard the Alpha invited all Royal members for a meal.”

I stared at her in mockery, which was giving her the confidence to think she was among the Royal family.

 Even if she had a child for the Alpha, how does that make her part of the Royal family?

I snorted. “The  Alpha called every royal member, what has that got to do with you and  since when  did you become one of the royal members?” I asked in a sarcasm tone.

She frowned, clearly annoyed with the way I spoke.

But who was she anyway? Just some lowlife beggar from the street.

Rose said. “I’m Ace's mother, So  as Ace's mother I have every right to be here.” She said in a likely proud manner which got me irritated.

 “Was Ace the one who called for the gathering.” I shot back. “Just because you brought a child from the moon goddess knows where from, claiming he is the Alpha's son  you now count yourself among the royal members. You are completely shameless.”

 I caught Ace staring at me with a fierce gaze but I didn’t  flinch. The whole royal eyes were on me clearly. They were not liking the scene playing in front of them, it was ruining their appetite.

 But I was clearly enjoying the show.

Rose turned to the Alpha and said. "Alpha, do you see what she did? She is insulting me." He said her tone dripping with sadness.

         

  Alpha Brian sighed. "Miranda I was the one who called for her so she could join us for dinner."

I raise my eyebrows dramatically. "Since when did we start inviting dogs to dine with us?"

"Miranda, don't you dare insult my mother!" Ace said in a warning tone.

I chuckled gazing at him with disdain in my eyes.

"And if I do what will you do? You are an unwanted bastard that doesn't know his own origin!" 

"Miranda!" Everyone one called out in unison.

They were all angry because I called Ace a bastard but I wasn't done yet.

"Yeah!" I replied. "Isn't that who he is? Some one just brought a grown up boy from only the moon goddess knows where from, claiming he is the Alpha's  son and you all foolishly believed." I scoffed at not caring about their feelings  knowing they don't care about mine either.

 They all seem to take Ace as some kind of  God, Even those Royal members who didn't like me  now all show concern for Ace.

 I didn't even know if I should be jealous or maybe feeling sad for him.

 Cause I know it all fake, The only reason they are siding with him was because he was the Alpha's most favorable person right  Now.

"Miranda!" The Alpha called me, This time his voice was full with so much authority and everyone in the table seemed quite frightened.

 But I didn't flinch. I have known him for years. Why should I be scared of him?

I stare at him directly in his eyes. "Why so mad Dad? Did I hit a nerve? Just because you don't have a male child doesn't mean you could go around taking a child that isn't yours."

The Alpha coughed, holding his chest as he coughed and everyone was staring at him in concern.

"Dad, are you okay?" Ace asked, acting like a filial son.

"Don't worry he isn't going to die."I replied to him in mockery.

"And who said he was gonna die?" Ace snapped angrily.

"You.." I was about to give him a definite reply but I got cut off by The Queen mother.

The Alpha mother who is supposedly my grandmother.

"Stop this nonsense Miranda!" She said and I stopped talking.

Till trying to maintain the little manners I still had in me.
