Tragic Love

Alpha

Winning Back the Wife

Face Slapping

Alpha Darius Waller decides to accept Raven Snyder, the widowed mate of a dead warrior, into the manor we live in. This time, I don't scream at him, nor do I fight back against his decision. Instead, I just start packing my stuff together with my daughter, Rachel Waller. "It's difficult for Raven to raise her kid. We'll move out so that it's easier for you to care for them." On the day of Rachel's birthday, Darius gives her a training dagger that's meant for pups. Raven's son, Cole Booker, starts screaming and crying at the sight of the dagger. He insists on obtaining it and making it his. With red-rimmed eyes, Rachel hands the dagger over. "Daddy says that since Cole doesn't have a daddy anymore, he'll become Cole's daddy instead. "I'm the older one here, so I should let Cole have whatever he wants." Darius feels proud when he sees how generous and understanding we are. But he slowly realizes that I no longer get jealous of him, and that Rachel no longer needs him. After all, that wolf had personally cast us out of the pack territory for the sake of Raven and Cole in our past lives. It was winter at that time, so Rachel and I were tormented by endless coldness and hunger. But Darius had opted to give all of the resources the pack had to Raven and Cole. Rachel and I ended up dying in the blizzard from starvation and the cold in each other's arms. After we get reborn, I no longer fight for everything and anything. But at the same time, I no longer need my mate. I've already gotten reborn, so I will never fight for a wolf who doesn't deserve to be with me and Rachel.

Chapter 1

Alpha Darius Waller left with Raven Snyder and her son, Cole Booker.

My daughter, Rachel Waller, and I stood at the door of our temporary home, staring at the mess they had left behind. I couldn't help but frown.

Rachel asked sadly, "Mom, can we make it so Dad can never find us again? If they hadn't come, I could have had a happy Full Moon Night."

My heart broke when I heard her say that.

I kneeled down and gently stroked her cheek. "Then, let's move farther away—to somewhere Dad will never find us."

We packed our things again and moved once more.

Before leaving, I took one last look at the little place we had tried so hard to turn into a home. I felt bitterness well up inside me.

In my past life, Darius' Beta, Michael Booker, died in a pack conflict. That very night, Darius brought Raven and her son home.

"Raven is my Beta's mate, and Cole is his only child. As the Alpha, taking care of them is my duty. You're the Luna, so you need to be understanding and let them have their way…"

Raven took the silver fur cloak my mother had sewn for me with her own hands—the cloak I couldn't bear to wear even once.

Darius said lightly, "It's just a cloak. Raven likes it, so let her have it. You're the Luna. Don't be so selfish."

To make Raven and Cole more comfortable, he had me and Rachel move into the cold, damp basement.

The basement had no ventilation, and mold grew everywhere. As a result, Rachel developed pneumonia.

She coughed and ran a fever all night long, but Darius refused to give us medicine. "Many in the pack are sick right now. Cole might catch it.

"Rachel is older and can tough it out. Save the medicine for Cole. You know he's Michael's only child. Nothing can happen to him."

Then one day, Raven suddenly fell to her knees in front of Darius and me, covering her face. There was a fresh red handprint on her cheek.

"Luna Selena, it's all my fault. I'll take Cole and leave right now. I won't get in your way anymore…" she said through sobs.

Darius didn't even ask me what happened. He just assumed I was petty and cruel, that I had bullied the mate and child of a fallen warrior.

He exiled us from the pack after that.

In the freezing snow, the sick Rachel fell unconscious. I held her in my arms and kneeled at the pack gates, begging Darius for something to eat.

He didn't even open the door when he said, "The supplies we have left are for Raven and Cole. You did something wrong, so you have to face the consequences."

Through the door, I could smell the scent of roast meat. I could also see the candies and berries on the table.

Then, Darius slammed the door shut on us.

I continued kneeling, causing my knees to turn raw and bleed on the snow. When I looked down, I realized Rachel had died in my arms at some point.

That night, a blizzard struck.

All I remember is curling up in the snow, holding Rachel with the last of my warmth. The next day, I never opened my eyes again.

Now that I had been given a second chance at life, the death and despair of my past life still lingered in my heart.

I swore to the Moon Goddess that I would never let Rachel and I repeat the same mistakes.
