Amira’s POV

Word had already gone around Montgomery Lane,

the wealthy rogue family were back.

Whenever they returned, the whole pack talked about it. Nobody knew how long they would stay this time. They were always traveling, moving between their many houses abroad, never settling too long in one place. I remember hearing a lot about them growing up, but because I was just a poor Omega girl I never met them or so many other elites in the city, the only opportunity I had was to meet most of their children in the elite high school, and the real Mia? I never met her, she was home schooled all her life.

But less than twenty-four hours in the Henss mansion, I had already made my first enemy.

And that enemy was Trudy the maid.

The moment I suggested to Clara not to make her the head maid, but instead to hire someone from outside, I saw the look in her eyes. A quick flash of hurt, then envy. I hadn’t wanted it, hadn’t planned it. The last thing I wanted was to create enemies in this house w

Amira’s POVMunites after I stepped in with Fiona, Clara’s sharp voice cut through the room… “Mia, may we have a word?” My heart dropped into my stomach.I knew exactly what it meant.Fiona froze beside me, her hands clasped so tightly in front of her worn out apron that her knuckles turned white. Her eyes shifted nervously from me to Clara, then to Alpha Rufus, who already looked like he was two seconds from shifting and tearing her flesh apart.“Stay here,” I whispered to Fiona, trying to sound steady, but my voice trembled. “It will be fine.”She nodded quickly, but I could see the fear in her eyes. She wasn’t fine and neither was I.Clara and Rufus led me into the dining room, shutting the tall doors behind us. The silence in the vast room was suffocating, Clara a d Rufus both looking at themselves in turns.Rufus didn’t waste time, his voice was sharp, low, controlled anger simmering beneath every word.“Mia, what in the hell were you thinking bringing that woman into this house?

Amira’s POV“Please…” My mother’s voice cracked as though the words had been dragged out of her chest. She clutched at the side of the car, her eyes glistening. “Please, take me anywhere else. Not here. Not this road.”Her tone was not a simple request, it was the broken plea of an omega begging a lunar for mercy.I swallowed hard, my throat aching. I knew exactly why she didn’t want to be here. I knew what this road meant. Wolfe Square Road, the place they said her daughter had taken her life. But I forced myself to ask anyway. “Why?” I kept my voice gentle, careful, even though my own chest was tearing apart. “What is it about this place?”She pressed her trembling fingers against her mouth. Her shoulders shook. “They said… they said my Amira killed herself here. That she stepped into the road and let the cars take her. They said she was weak, that shame made her do it.” She shook her head violently, the tears streaming freely now. “But my girl wasn’t weak. She was full of life. She

Amira’s POV “Oh? And why should I?” Brianna said, her lips curling with contempt as her manicured hand waved toward my mother like she was nothing more than trash. “This pathetic woman is worth less than a month’s wage. All she does instead of cleaning is cry over her dead disgrace of a daughter and tell anyone who will listen that her disgusting child is still alive. She disgusts me.”A murmur ran through the neighbors gathered at the corner. Old Mrs. Kay shook her head, whispering something to her husband. A few younger boys from the street laughed nervously, as though entertained by the drama, but I could see unease in their eyes too.My mother, my real mother lifted her head at that moment. Her eyes were swollen, rimmed with red, tears carving rivers down her dirt-streaked cheeks. And then… she looked at me.For a single heartbeat, her gaze locked with mine, and my heart shattered into a thousand pieces. Her face, her trembling hands, the frailty in her frame. It was my mother. • The Alpha's Regret; The Omega's Revenge.   Chapter 14

Amira’s POVThe car rolled slowly through the tall iron gates of the Henss mansion. My stomach twisted as the black gates swung shut behind us, their iron bars clicking like the lock of a prison door. The driveway stretched long and lined with trees that reached to the sky, their leaves whispering secrets in the wind. The mansion tall, white, wide, and intimidating. Even after all these years, it was exactly as I remembered. The same house I had woken up in after my accident. The same walls that had held me when I was neither alive nor dead.Beside me, Lunara gasped, pressing her face to the car window. Her little hands tapped the glass excitedly.“Mum! Mummy! Look!” she cried, her eyes round. “It’s like a palace!”I forced a smile, brushing a strand of her ginger curls behind her ear. “Yes, my love. It is.”“It’s bigger than the moonrise school!” she said with childish exaggeration. “Bigger than the whole world!”Clara chuckled from the front seat. “Well, perhaps not the whole world

  • The Alpha's Regret; The Omega's Revenge.   Chapter 13

Declan’s POVThe moment the Henss’ car sped away, I stood frozen on the spot, my mind a mess. My palms were clammy against my trousers, and I could still hear the low hum of their engine fading into the distance. I knew fear, every wolf in Montgomery knew fear, but nothing quite compared to the fear of Rugus Henss. Even the strongest alphas lowered their heads when his name was mentioned. If I had known… if I had even suspected it was his family in that other car, I would have been more careful. But it wasn’t Rufus that left me shaken the most. It was her, that woman. That ginger-haired lady with the commanding presence. She unsettled me in a way no one else ever had. I gripped the steering wheel as I slid into my car, my chest tightening. Why did she feel so familiar? Her hair, that striking ginger, her height, her frame, it all screamed of Amira. But then again, no, Amira had been soft… very fragile. This lady, however… she commanded space. She spoke boldly, like the world bent arou
