IRENE

My ears rang at her words, jaw hung loose as I stared with my heart palpating in my chest. She was shivering, hugging her arms as the forbidden words spilled from her mouth.

No one blinked. No one moved a muscle.

The fear in her voice worsened the tension in the room and in her eyes, I saw the horror of the unspeakable. The air grew thicker, as the weight of her words settled like a foot against our throats.

Aunt had her hand over her mouth, frozen in shock as Ralph made a fist by his sides, his face tight with anger and something else as he lowered his head. It was in shame.

"I couldn't stop him. He was too strong-" she trembled again. Her voice broke and her tears spilled over like a tap left to run.

"I don't buy this. You expect me to believe you didn't throw yourself on him?" I said calmly but the anger in my voice was evident.

"Yes," she shot her chin up, looking me dead in the eye as she said, "Karson was never mine to begin with. I knew the implications of sleepin

IRENEHe kicked me out.The door slammed hard in my face and I blinked at it, stunned for a moment about what happened then his voice came through.“What the fuck happened?” He screamed at none other than Ralph and I started to pity him.Poor guy. We were in the same boat. He'd have to deal with Karson’s endless questions and crash out for as long as this would last.“Karson, calm down. I assure you, you did that all on your own.”“I did what? No way. I would never mark a wolfless woman as my mate! Never!” He rebuked violently. While his words crushed my spirit and soul, I wondered what he'd do when he learned about the kids.“Oh maann! He'd hate himself,” I should be sad, so why did the thought make my lips quirk. This wasn't funny. At all. Not even a little bit.But just thinking about it. Now I looked forward to him regaining his memories so I could t

IRENE“I-It appears the alpha is suffering from amnesia-”“Who are you talking about?” He snarled. “I remember just fine. I'll have your heads if you assume nonsense about me.”“Y-Yes. Forgive me, Alpha-”“You really don't…” I held his gaze, tears streaming down my face with my fists by my side. “... Remember me?”He stared at me, unimpressed and unmoved. Just like all the other times in the past before his lips curled in irritation. “Are you deaf?”My heart sank, breaking into a million pieces.“What more do I remember about you besides your wolfless spirit?” He questioned, getting angry for no reason. “Is there anything else-”“Alpha,” Ralph walked past me, his body shielding me from Karson's penetrative and condescending eyes. “I'm so glad you're okay. We were all so worried.&rdqu

IRENEBy the time the guards came, Karson had fallen unconscious again. They handed me a dress and I threw it over my head as they took him from me.My heart gnawed and skin crawled to stay close to him, but I let them take him. My shoulders slumped defeated.Raphael came around, still in his wolf form and he offered me a ride. The silence as we rode back to the house plagued my mind. I kept glancing at Karson's unconscious body in the car.“Where's Lexie?” I asked, looking around. Not like I cared for her, but she had stepped out with him. If I found him in this shape, then she must be in one far worse.‘The others are searching for her as we speak,’ Ralph assured me and I nodded, going mute again. I could feel his hesitation, he had questions- anyone would if they saw the girl they termed wolfless all her life suddenly transform into a wolf of such aura.I knew my wolf had a very intimidating Alpha aur

IRENEMy world was crashing but I had no time to crumble with it. I snapped out of it, stepping closer to Ralph and taking him off guard.“We're leaving, now.”Hesitation flashed in his orbs and he started to shake his head, “I can't take you there. It's dangerous, Irene. If Karson's not here, I should protect-”A growl tore from me and he stepped back, everyone froze and gasped as my alpha command filled the air. Their eyes bulged and jaws hit the ground.“Now, Ralph!” I looked back at a guard and held his gaze, “Lock the doors. Keep my kids safe. No one goes in or out unless it's Luna, me or Raphael, understood?”He nodded quickly, gulping his fear as he hurried up the stairs to see to it that they were safe.“Bring the car around,” Ralph instructed.“No, I'll ride on someone.” The car couldn't compare to our speed and I needed to get down a

“Ugh!” Lexie groaned, throwing a pillow across the room before kicking over a chair. She tangled her hands in her hair, pulling hard as if to punish herself for the news she'd just heard. This was the third time this week she had torn her room apart in frustration and jealousy—and it was only Wednesday. She turned sharply when she heard whimpers and glared at the maids standing just outside her room. They looked at the mess and obviously couldn't believe they'd have to rearrange the room again.“Don't just stand there!” Lexie screamed, jolting them up. “Get cleaning!” She stormed out of the room, shoving them aside. Her anger blazed like molten lava, wild and uncomfortable, ready to burn everything and anything in her path.Of course she had heard the rumours, and it stole her peace of mind all morning.Alpha Karson has spent the night with another woman.Another fucking w
