Irene’s POV“How did it go?” Mia asked as I threw myself into the resting chair and took off my hairband. “It was a disaster. We were so close to starting the battle right there.” I admitted. She
Irene’s POVThe intention with the Stone pack is to give them a chance to rethink their decision. Maybe some negotiation. There would be no need to ruin each other if we could just come to a reasonable compromise. I would have preferred we wait for whatever it is they plan to do to us. But according to Mia, you don’t always have to fight all battles. Sometimes, you talk your way out of it. Know what they want and why.
Irene’s POVKarson and Lucas arrived with a worried expression just as I was planning a defense against the Stone pack with Ken. “What happened? Why are you breathing so heavily?” I asked in concern. Karson h
Karson’s POVWith Lucas and a few guards, we formed the search team to find Lexie. I was hoping Raphael would have gotten a hold of her by now. Seeing her show up at the camp again after such an intense search almost makes me think she might be untouchable, but I do not want to believe such nonsense. No matter how much backup Lexie might have, I will find her through the hole she crawls into. I have had enough with the situation at hand and can’t wait for all this to be over.
Irene’s POV“How do you feel?” Lucas whispered next to me, his eyes on the bandage wrapped around my arm. I huffed at the sight of it. Karson’s insistence has prompted me to get treated even though I assured him it was a small scratch.
Irene’s POVIn a split second, she kicked my leg causing me to stumble back a bit. But before she could make a run for it, I grabbed her ponytail, throwing her at the wall. As I tried to reach for her again, she grabbed my arm scratching me with her claws. I slapped her hard across the face and she fell against the desk pushing down the badge box. Lexie’s eyes rounded like saucers when it opened and nothing came out of it.
KARSONI couldn't make sense of what just happened. She bolted out of my room like the floor was molten lava and there was nothing I could do about it, not when she looked me dead in the eye like a mouse trapped between two large mouse traps. Was that fear in her eyes or anger? I must admit the bit
IRENE"Mummy! Uwaaaah!"My thoughts scattered, panic and confusion setting in. Where was Mirabel? What happened to them? Did I trust the wrong person?"Let me see you," I cupped their faces, scanning them from head to toe with my heart beating twice as fast. "You're okay, you're okay. What's wrong?
IRENEAunt didn't let me leave until I agreed to keep a promise I didn't even know about. We waited until the kids could shift again and once they did, they burst into tears, sorry for what they did. They hugged my legs tight, throwing their heads back dramatically as they cried with their butt out
IRENEKarin and Carl looked startled by my little outburst and I regretted it as soon as the strong tone left my mouth. "I'm sorry," I quickly recollected. "Who told you that?""They were talking about it. Some moms," Carl reported, carefully this time as if watching for my reaction. I rubbed his a
