I was out for a few minutes. The fatigue wore off quickly and nothing but the bliss from the bite remained. My body hummed in sweetness and I blinked into the darkness, slowly coming into reality.

I stiffened in his arms and he noticed I was up because his hold on me tightened and he turned to place a kiss on my head.

"Are you alright?" he murmured over my forehead, causing a shiver.

"Yeah…" Why was I suddenly worried? Anxious, even.

For a long time I've wanted Karson's mark, I craved it, now that it sat proudly on my neck, I didn't know just how to feel.

"Nightmare?" he probed further but I wondered if he knew how I felt about this. Was he worried about what he'd done or did he expect I'd just embrace it with open arms?
