Chapter 16: Bed of Woods

Last night was the worst night of my entire life!

I could barely sleep, as I laid wide awake in bed alone, in the darkness of my room. I wasn't dreaming but I could see flashes of Lily at the point when she came back to save me.

It brought grief to my heart. I was exhausted from crying and my head was pounding from thinking too much about her. I was in a sorry state.

I caught sight of the first ray of the sun, as it filtered through the curtain of my open window after what felt like an eternity. Finally the dawn had come and the night was over but my problems were just beginning.

My first thought was to see my parents. I wanted to see how they were fairing and also to ask for their forgiveness. They had cared for me last night unselfishly, despite their heavy hearts before leaving me alone so I could sleep.

I could see father was trying to pull it together but mother was weaker and more vulnerable. They had to take time off from me to also express their loss of Lily together.
