I could see determination written all over Mike's face, and I knew that it was pointless to argue with him. However, deep down, I still wished I could go with the others.

I sprang to my feet and started scanning the room for my things. My backpack was still sitting in the corner where I had left it. I grabbed it and pulled out a flashlight, some food, and a bottle of water. I slung the backpack on my shoulder and jogged outside. Mike kept, bugging me and followed me outside.
