FAZER LOGINThe High Cathedral of the Crescent Citadel was a masterwork of ancient stone and light. Sunlight poured through soaring stained-glass windows, casting brilliant geometric mosaic patterns of violet, gold, and deep crimson across the long aisle.
Hundreds of dignitaries sat in rows of polished oak pews. Western lords in high velvet, Frostborn elders in silver silk, and rogue commanders in formal leather watched in breathless silence as I walked slowly down the central aisle toward the high altar.
Elder Vance stood upon the raised marble dais, dressed in white ceremonial robes. Beside him, resting upon a cushion of royal blue velvet, lay the Crown of the First Kings—a delicate, radiant circlet forged from star-iron and inlaid with glowing crescent moonstones.
Nikolai stood at the right side of the altar in his formal grey tunic, his posture rigid, his golden eyes scanning every balcony and shadow above with silent, hawk-like intensity.
I reached the altar steps, kneeling gracefully before Elder Vance.
"People of the Northern Ridge, the Western Sun, and the High Glacial Peaks," Vance’s voice echoed grandly across the vaulted hall. "We gather under the clear light of the heavens to crown Elora of the Crescent line as Grand Empress of the United Realms."
Vance reached out, his hands trembling slightly with reverent emotion, and lifted the star-iron crown from its cushion.
Suddenly, a sharp, unnatural chill swept through the cathedral. The sunlight filtering through the stained-glass windows dimmed from brilliant gold to a sickly, suffocating ash-grey.
"Vance, stop!" Nikolai roared, stepping toward the dais with his dagger half-drawn.
Before Vance could react, the shadow-smoke that had escaped the catacombs burst into the cathedral through the floor vents. The black cloud expanded with violent speed, plunging the entire sacred hall into pitch-black, magical darkness.
Screams of terror erupting from the pews as delegates scrambled in panic.
"Assassins!" Captain Torin’s voice echoed over the din. "Form a perimeter around the diplomats!"
From the high rafters above, twenty black-clad Syndicate mercenaries dropped into the darkness, their blades dripping with glowing shadow-poison. They targeted the foreign delegates directly, aiming to create an international bloodbath that would fracture the new alliance forever.
Out of the center of the dark cloud stepped Regent Malakor. He held the pulsing Obsidian Relic high above his head, channeling a stream of pitch-black magic directly into the star-iron crown held in Vance’s hands. The moonstones on the circlet turned a foul, poisonous purple.
"Burn in the dark, Empress!" Malakor laughed, a sound like dry bones scraping together.
I stood up from my knees. The time for restraint was over.
"Not in my hall," I declared, my voice ringing out like a silver bell over the screams and clashing steel.
I slammed the hilt of the Sovereign's Edge against my chest. The royal Crescent mark on my collarbone exploded into a blinding supernova of celestial violet fire. The radiant light didn't just illuminate the cathedral—it shattered Malakor’s shadow-smoke into clean, harmless steam.
"Look to the Queen!" a Western lord cried out, pointing toward the dais.
The holy aura surrounding me expanded in a vast, protective dome of golden and violet light, enveloping the entire sanctuary. Syndicate mercenaries who attempted to strike down delegates found their poisoned blades dissolving the moment they touched the boundary of my aura.
Nikolai moved like a whirlwind inside the light. He caught two Syndicate assassins jumping from a pillar, disarming both in a single fluid sweeping strike before driving them into the marble floor.
Malakor recoiled from the heat of my light, clutching his black crystal as its outer shell began to crack. "Impossible! The shadow-curse should have bound your mind!"
"My mind was forged in your scullery fires, Malakor!" I shouted, drawing the flaming star-iron blade in a swift, deafening arc. "And my crown is forged in light!"
With a scream of frustrated rage, Malakor turned and leapt backward onto the spiral stairwell leading up to the high Cathedral spire, clutching his relic tightly to his chest.
"He's fleeing to the high tower!" Nikolai yelled, vaulting over the altar rail to join my side. "If he detonates that relic from the spire, the blast will collapse the cathedral roof onto everyone below!"
"He won't make it to the top," I said, my blade burning with fierce solar flame as Nikolai and I charged up the winding stone stairs together.
The platinum-gold light radiating from our fused Eclipse-Breaker mark filled the vast abyssal cavern with the warmth of a thousand suns.High Monarch Malakor-Prime tore off his cracked silver mask, revealing a gaunt, ancient face with hollow eyes that burned with pitch-black void-fire. "Blasphemers!" he shrieked, his voice rattling the stone vault. "The void-vault cannot be denied by mortal flesh!"He raised his heavy void-staff, channeling the full dark reservoir of the vortex into a roaring beam of black energy directed straight at our hearts.Nikolai and I moved in absolute, synchronized harmony. We did not need words or signaled commands; our dual-soul bond made two minds think as one.I stepped forward, raising the Sovereign's Edge. The white-hot solar blade absorbed the incoming void-beam on contact, refracting the dark magic into harmless sprays of light. At the same second, Nikolai vaulted off a fallen stone pillar, his twin daggers glowing with blazing platinum flames as he s
The pain was a suffocating, liquid fire that tore through my lungs and clawed at my chest.Inside the void-cage, my vision flickered between blinding violet light and pitch-black void. The dark bars hummed as they drank greedily from my Crescent mark, funneling my ancestral bloodline magic directly into the focal crystal at the base of the Primordial Vault. Across the chamber, the massive star-iron archway groaned, its ancient stone gears grinding as the portal gates crept wider, revealing a swirling vortex of deep abyssal purple."Elora!" Nikolai’s voice cut through the roaring static in my ears.I forced my eyes open. Nikolai was pushing himself up from the wet cavern floor, his hands raw and bloodied from the cage’s magical backlash. His dark golden eyes locked onto mine, filled with a desperate, unyielding terror that I had never seen in him before—not in the Blackwood Forest, and not at the Glacial Citadel."Stay... back..." I gasped, the words tearing at my throat as another vio
The tide roared through the subterranean sea-caves beneath Oakhaven, sending salty spray cascading over ancient, barnacle-encrusted stone arches. Deep below the harbor line, the air grew heavy with the suffocating stench of decayed seaweed, wet granite, and crackling dark magic.Nikolai led our strike team down the narrow, slick stone steps, his twin daggers emitting a low golden glow that cut through the oppressive subterranean gloom. Captain Torin and two Frostborn archers covered our rear, their boots making quiet, measured splashes in the rising ankle-deep water."These ruins predate the Crescent Citadel," Nikolai murmured, halting near an ancient stone threshold carved with spiral oceanic glyphs. "The stonework isn't Northern. It matches the relief carvings from the forgotten continent.""The First Sovereign didn't just build a realm above," I said, running my hand along the damp glyphs. The royal mark on my collarbone throbbed in rhythm with the crashing sea waves outside, drawi
The horn blast echoing from the fog was like the scream of an ancient iron beast. Before the sound could die away, the dark sea exploded into motion. Giant black-sailed warships, their hulls forged from jagged, light-absorbing iron, sheared through the coastal mist. From the decks of the lead dreadnought, heavy catapults creaked and snapped, unleashing a volley of glowing obsidian boulders into the sleeping port city. The projectiles struck the stone harbor walls with catastrophic force. Where the stones landed, there were no normal explosions of fire or splintered masonry. Instead, waves of crackling black void-fire erupted on impact, instantly vaporizing stone quays and turning wooden warehouses into pillars of dark ash."Fall back to the upper stone ramparts!" Captain Torin roared to the fleeing townspeople, drawing his broadsword. "Rogue archers, take the high towers!""Torin, use the Frostborn ice-bows on those catapults!" Nikolai commanded, his voice slicing cleanly through the
The peace that had settled over the Crescent Realm for three quiet years shattered not with a roar, but with a silent, terrifying disappearance.I sat at the head of the long table in the high council chamber of the Crescent Citadel, reviewing land grant charters for the unified southern territories. Sunlight bathed the polished oak, illuminating stacks of signed treaties and harvest reports. Nikolai stood by the arched window bay, softly whittling a piece of mountain cedar, his relaxed posture reflecting the quiet prosperity we had fought so hard to secure. That tranquil morning ended the moment Captain Torin entered without knocking. His face was unusually pale, his mouth set in a grim, rigid line. His tailored leather armor was encrusted with dry salt spray from a hard, uninterrupted three-day ride from the eastern coast."My Queen," Torin said, his heavy boots echoing against the flagstones as he laid a scorched leather messenger cylinder onto the map table. "The eastern watchtowe
The grand cathedral hall was dead silent as Nikolai and I descended the spiral staircase back into the sanctuary. The smoke had cleared completely, filtered away by the remnants of my celestial dome. The foreign delegates, lords, and rogue commanders stood in their rows, their eyes wide with awe as they looked upon us. Not a single assassin remained standing; Captain Torin’s elite trackers had secured every exit, disarming the few Syndicate mercenaries who had survived the blast of light. At the altar, Elder Vance stood waiting. Though his hands still trembled slightly from the chaos, his expression was filled with profound relief and unyielding reverence. He picked up the star-iron crown from the velvet cushion—its stones now purged of Malakor's dark poison, gleaming with pure, radiant moonfire.I stepped onto the marble dais, turning to face the vast assembly of people from across every corner of the continent.Nikolai unbuckled his twin daggers, laying them crosswise at the foot of
