Aurora tried to go back to sleep, back with the constant movement of people in the house and the creaking of the floorboards. She couldn’t.

Then there was the scent of her mate, Kyro.

The scent got closer and closer, causing her heart to beat faster and faster until she could see a shadow under the door. There was a knock. Instead of answering, Aurora pulled the covers over her head and hid under the sheets.

The knock came again, followed by Kyro’s voice, calling her name softly.

‘’Aurora, are you ok in there?’’

She didn’t respond, just rolled over to her side, so she was no longer facing the door.

‘’Ok, when you are ready, I guess. I’ll always be here for you.’’

Aurora listened as his footsteps retreated. She sat up in bed, feeling dizzy and thinking that she needed to save Marcus somehow.

She didn’t understand Kyro’s animosity towards him, but more importantly, she didn’t understand the way of the wolf. With her not going to school, she didn’t fully understand much.
