It was time. I pulled myself to a sitting position. It was still dark outside, but it wouldn't be for long. I glanced to my side at the emptiness of the bed. Nola was gone. Getting up, I fished out a few pillows I found in her closet and lined them up, covering all the way to the head pillow.
