CHAPTER 36: VACATION'S OVER

~ RICHARD ~

“Arghhh!!!” She yelled at the top of her voice as soon as she saw me.

I must confess I was pretty terrified too, but I managed to keep it down as soon as I realized she was the one.

“What is wrong with you?”

She looked cute being scared. Holding her chest and breathing heavily.

“What is wrong with me? Why are you always sneaking into a house that's not yours?” I fired at her. “You've been kept at a big mansion, why is that not enough for you?”

CHAPTER 45: THE RIVERINE BORDER~RICHARD~ Her seat at the table was empty again, just as it had been for the last four days. The table was awfully quiet with just me, Logan and Elena.I relieved my mother of having to always be at the table since she was still recovering and she took her walks with her aide.“Excuse me,” I pushed back my seat and rushed up the stairs, straight to Kimberly’s room.“Kimberly?” I knocked on the door, but there was nothing but silence.“Kimberly?”My eyes caught Galina in the hallway.I could almost swear she was coming to Kimberly’s room, but as soon as she saw me, she took a turn.“Galina!” I ran after her.She hastened her steps.“You know you could be punished for ignoring the Alpha,”I hated I had to threaten her, but it was the only thing that stopped her.“Good morning, Alpha.” She bowed in courtesy when I came close to her.“Where is Kimberly?” I probed.Galina avoided eye contact, bending her head to the ground, even though I tried to get her to

CHAPTER 44: NOT SO BAD ~ KIM ~“What do you think she’s planning?”“I don’t know. I just know it can’t be anything good.”Logan drove the vehicle behind Elena’s at a steady pace. She insisted he take his own vehicle if he wanted to see the surprise and I insisted on driving with him since it felt safer.Elena would not allow Richard or anyone else to come, even though Richard offered to drive her.“Common. It can’t be that bad.”Maybe Logan was right, but since it was Elena, it was safer to assume the worst. The drive was long and leading to the very outskirts of town. The farther we went, the less people we saw and the more trees occupied the region. In the midst of the already terrifying trip, Elena took a turn.“Where do you think she’s going now?” I asked Logan.“We’re about to find out.” He took the turn after her.“Maybe she’s finding a perfect spot to bury my body so no one can find me, even if they come after me.”Logan smiled. “You really think she would do that with me he

CHAPTER 43: Surprise of my own ~KIM~Only Alpha Richard Fell would pull off a grand gesture and have it delivered with a tone as rough as he used.‘Is it me, or was that a display of jealousy?’ I thought, still holding the door open.I was almost afraid of going in, it was like I was going to ruin the décor.‘Oh! That was definitely jealousy.’Rachel’s excitement could be translated to me beaming from cheek to cheek.“This place does look good though.”I walked in, slowly closing the door behind me.Richard had my ceiling covered in red roses.I couldn’t tell the technique behind it, but there was just enough stalk to show that it was hanging, but not too much so the red roses were compact enough to look like a ceiling. My walls had roses in the same arrangement and the floor in my room was sprinkled with petals with a layer above it that looked like glass, holding it down.“Seriously, how long did it take him to put this together?” I thought out loud.I wasn’t a very big fan of the

CHAPTER 42~ RICHARD ~“The question is very simple, Kimberly.” I walked away from the flowers and towards with the most intimidating steps I could come up with, but she would not budge.“As is the answer, but I’m not going to give it.”Her stubbornness was one of the cute features about her. I thought so, but in this very moment, I was trying not to make it the reason I strangle life out of her.I stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind me.Receiving flowers from someone right under my roof was bad enough, but whoever sent them even had them preserved. He was not willing to be forgotten anytime soon.‘Why are you so pissed?’“It’s disrespectful! How can’t you see that?”I stormed down the hallway, talking to the only person I could probably engage on this topic—Matt.‘I can see that, but is that why you’re this upset though? Solely for the disrespect?’The call out was loud and I knew if I traveled down this path with Matt, I would lose.“Don’t have the time for this right

CHAPTER 41: I’m not pregnant~ KIM ~‘Well, that was awkward.’Rachel did not have to state the obvious, but as soon as the door closed behind me, she did anyway.“It’s becoming really difficult to get a hold of you these days.”“Ah!”I tried not to shout too loud, before realizing it was just Logan.“Okay. Really. I need to learn to start locking this door when I’m not in inside.” I walked over to the bed, leaving Logan in the couch.“I’m sorry. I would stop letting myself in.”As right as what he said was, it did not pacify me.I hissed. I fell with my back onto the bed and placed my hand on my forehead.“Kim, I’m sorry.”“I already promised... ”“It’s not you!” I jumped in.I took a deep breath and then another minute after to put myself together.“Catherine thinks I’m pregnant.”Logan’s face had too many emotions written on it, in my eyes it turned out blank.“Uhm... congratulations?”He was unsure of what to say and rightfully so.“No!”“No, as in, you don’t want the baby? Is t

CHAPTER 40:~ KIM ~“If I had told you that I couldn’t, because of the draining effect, you’d probably think I didn’t care about Catherine enough.”It was Elena. Her voice was faint, but I could still recognize it.“I would never do that. I know how much you love my mother, but it means so much to me that you went the extra mile to do this, despite knowing its effect on you.”Richard’s voice was what followed. Their conversation slowly unfolding how badly I was betrayed.“You know I love you and I would do just about anything for you.”“I love you too, Elena, and now... now, I owe you more than my life. I owe you my mother’s as well.”“If ever you need anything. Anything at all. Just say the world.”‘She lied to me.’I believed that Richard knew this was all me. I thought we were lying to the world, but I was the one being lied to. Deceived. Betrayed. The knife cut deeper than I thought it would.Tears welled in my eyes.I turned around and dashed away from the door.“Kim... ”I hea
