Chapter 61
Cooper POV
I sweep Hayley up over my shoulder, careful to keep her dress covering her modesty, and she giggles in surprise as I carry her off the dancefloor. She kicks and squirms as I stride towards the doors that open to the gardens outside. I hear whooping and laughter behind us as we leave our friends and family to disappear out into the darkness. I carry her in silence in the unseasonably warm evening air, a little away from the noise, and set her down on her feet gently.
"Cooper, I...." I don't even give her a chance to finish whatever it was she was going to say before I am on her, pressing her up against the wall, my mouth ravishing hers. I can't get enough. This week has been torture, the last month has been torture, and I need to be as close as physically possible to her now that she is finally going to be mine. I'm not backing down now. There are no doubts, no hesitation. As soon as she asked, I should have done it.

Hayley POV The loud squeal of tires skidding across asphalt disrupts the peaceful morning air and I whip around to see where the noise is coming from. Then I see him. A young boy in a bright blue coat, standing in the road, his little face frozen in shock, staring wide-eyed, as a dark grey van hurtles towards him.
