Hayley POV
Dazed, that’s how I feel. I sit up and stretch in the middle of the biggest, comfiest bed I have ever slept in. I am deliciously sore everywhere, and I gently run my fingers over the slightly raised mark on my neck that Cooper gave me last night. Just touching it reminds me of the night we had and sends shivers down my spine. Cooper was insatiable and woke me again and again to make love. It was as if he needed to prove to himself that this was real by taking me over and over until I was thoroughly satisfied and left in doubt who my body belonged to. Sex was always hot with Cooper, but now I realize he was holding back with me before, hiding a little of his dominance and his raw need for me.

Hayley POV The loud squeal of tires skidding across asphalt disrupts the peaceful morning air and I whip around to see where the noise is coming from. Then I see him. A young boy in a bright blue coat, standing in the road, his little face frozen in shock, staring wide-eyed, as a dark grey van hurtles towards him. My heart jumps into my mouth and I take a step towards him, already knowing that I am too far away to help.
