Masuk"The invitation to the party doesn't extend to my pet, Kael," the rich masculine voice growled and Ezra stiffened.
The alpha had walked fast, crossing the vast room in a split second. Too fast for Ezra to gather his bearings and not look like he was going to pass out at any moment. His heart thumped wildly and he feared both alphas could hear it. "It's not very ideal for a host to show up late to his own party Cage." Ezra freezes, his own breath choking him. The alpha he'd spent the night with was Alpha Cage? His mind rejected it. There was no way. He was out on business. Ezra's legs buckled underneath him. He was inches away from hitting the ground when a hand shot out and grabbed him. Heat spread from where the touch started. He raised his head, and his gaze clashed with Alpha Cage's own. A shudder ran through him as a moment passed. "Alpha.." Kit whined, hating that the attention wasn't on him. Ezra sensed the annoyance in his voice and quickly pulled away. Alpha Cage's eyes followed him, but he didn't say anything. Alpha Kael saw the interaction, his lips forming a sly smile. Alpha Cage straightened. "You pay very good attention to your pet," Alpha Kael laughed, even with the hidden meaning laced into his words. "And I don't take it too kindly when another alpha tries to hover around what belongs to me." "I saw him neglected, and I thought to give him a little attention," Alpha Kael said with a careless shrug and Alpha Cage's gaze darkened. "You haven't grown out of your old habits...chasing after what doesn't belong to you." The air between them was charged. Ezra expected an outburst, but Alpha Kael laughed loudly. "I only take what should be mine." His gaze swept over Ezra. "Goodbye, little pet, find me anytime your alpha is lacking. I can satisfy you better," Alpha Kael marched away after dropping that statement, and Alpha Cage fumed. Kit blushed furiously, and Ezra stayed confused. Why did Alpha Kael keep staring at him even though he wasn't the alpha's pet? "Alpha..." Kit's loud voice pierced his ears. From the corner of his eye, he saw him press into Alpha Cage's body. The alpha's eyes weren't on Kit. They were fixed on Ezra. Penetrating and demanding. Ezra lowered his gaze and considered running away, but his feet wouldn't move. "Alpha Cage..I waited all night for you," Kit pouted, and the alpha's gaze shifted, allowing Ezra a moment to breathe freely. "I was occupied last night." "Work?" "No. I was... chasing a little rabbit..." Ezra's chest tightened as the alpha's gaze landed on him again. Kit's brows furrowed, and he followed the alpha's gaze. "This is my servant Ezra. He's a beta. He doesn't do well at his duties," Kit complained and Alpha Cage hummed. "Is that so? Maybe we should replace him." 'Please do,' Ezra screamed in his head. He wouldn't survive a week with these two. Kit considered it for a moment but shook his head. How could he rub the alpha's attention in Ezra's face if he no longer served him? How could he humiliate him? "It's okay. We're from the same city. It won't be nice if I dispose of him like that. I can always teach him," Kit said sweetly. "And is the servant mute?" Alpha Cage asked, his eyes raking over Ezra. "Pardon my manners, Alpha Cage," Ezra squeaked, bowing his head in respect. Alpha Cage didn't respond, his gaze shifted back to Kit. "Are you free tonight?" "Of course. I'm always free for you. Anything you want," Kit pressed himself deeper into the Alpha. "Good," Alpha Cage's voice dropped to a low whisper. He leaned in, his lips brushing against Kit's ears while his eyes landed on Ezra again. Their eyes clashed and Ezra let out a breathy whimper, so soft that only Alpha Cage heard it. "Prepare yourself for me. I'll come to you tonight," Ezra felt heat spread through his body at the instructions. They were meant for Kit but the Alpha's intense gaze and penetrating eyes told a different story. It felt like the instruction was reserved for him. Ezra looked away as the alpha straightened. And without another look at the two, he stalked away. Ezra let out a loud exhale in relief. Kit's gaze landed on him, annoyance brimming. "What do you think you were doing, showing off yourself in front of the Alphas?" "I don't know what you mean," Ezra responded in the most polite tone he could muster. Kit snorted. "It was useless anyway. An alpha will only respond to a true omega. Not a silly beta," Kit flipped his long hair over his shoulders. "You should move into the servant's room next to mine. "Ezra's gaze snapped up. "What? Why should I do that?" Kit rolled his eyes. “Didn't you hear that? Because Alpha Cage is coming tonight." "You'll prepare everything. Fresh sheets. Candles. Bath water. Food. I want everything to be perfect.” "I can prepare everything without moving rooms," Ezra said carefully. "It's an order. You're supposed to follow it. Not ask too many fucking questions," Kit snapped, his face twisting into ugly anger. "But I have other duties." "You're my servant. Your duties are what I order them to be. Now, are you going to obey me, or do we have to get Alpha Cage involved?" Ezra's heart skipped. "No" "I thought as much. You move into tonight," Kit ordered and sauntered away, leaving Ezra standing alone.Ezra found the nearest exit, walking back to his old room to begin packing. Kit only desired to flex his status over him. And he knew it could be dangerous if he resisted.
Especially with this discovery. The dreaded alpha stared at him like prey. He packed his meager belongings and moved to the room. By the time the music from the banquet had transitioned into silence, Ezra had settled into his room. The wall between his new room and Kit's room was paper-thin. He could hear the exact moment he entered his bedroom, his drunken giggle travelling through the walls. Kit's shrill voice carried on and off for several minutes, loud enough to make Ezra wince. Ezra only hoped they kept the noise down when the Alpha arrived. The last thing he wanted was to spend the entire night listening to Kit's dramatic squealing through the wall. Ezra lay still in his bed until the noise from the other room died down. He closed his eyes and tried to find sleep. And then he heard it, the soft flick of the door opening. Ezra sat up quickly, his eyes traveling around the room as he tried to find the intruder. His pulse spiked. That was impossible. The omega wing was one of the most heavily guarded sections of the pack house. Guards patrolled the halls day and night. More importantly, this entire floor belonged to Prime Alpha Cage. Who would dare trespass on his territory? A knot formed in Ezra's stomach. And then he smelled it. That powerful smell that awakened his heat. Rich and dangerous. Alpha Cage was in his room. His breath caught and his pulse quickened as the heat spread through him. The scent grew stronger, tickling his nose. Ezra saw a silhouette in the darkness and he moved. But Alpha Cage was faster. His large body covered Ezra's, pressing his body into the thin mattress. His heart spiked and wet lips brushed against his earlobes. "You've been a very naughty rabbit.""Alpha Cage" a voice came from the door and Cage looked up. "Slade. Your pack was supposed to arrive by dawn tomorrow" he rose from his chair and crossed over to the drink cabinet to pour himself one. His fingers rubbed the back of his neck in mild agitation. The decision of the prime Alpha's union and the inflow of other Alphas onto his territory had become a headache he couldn't avoid. "The resistance attacked late at night" Cage's eyes widened a fraction. "Your pack? I wasn't informed" Slade shook his head as he also poured himself a drink. "Not my pack. But close enough. I didn't want to risk the attack happening before moving them" Cage grunted and returned to his chair. "Between you and me, this looks too organized to be the resistance” “You think someone’s behind it?”Cage asked in a neutral voice. “I think it’s possible. And here we are, running from our territories instead of defending them,” Cage grunted. “It’s the union's decision” “It’s too convenient” Slade press
Ezra flinched at the sound, the darkness in Alpha Cage's eyes startling him. He marched forward, his figure imposing as he crowded Ezra's space. "What the fuck did you just say?" He growled harshly. Ezra's lips wobbled, fear clawing at his chest as he stared up at Alpha Cage. He was at a loss. To repeat what he'd said earlier and risk his Alpha's wrath or.. "I said..." Alpha Cage gripped his chin roughly, the sharp edge of his nails digging into his skin and Ezra winced from the pain. "What the fuck did you say" he looked angrier now, his eyes blazing with sharp intent and murderous rage. "H-He offered to help" "Did you take it?" Ezra tried to speak but his eyes were brimming with tears from the tight grip on his chin. "Speak" she snarled and Ezra winced. "No..No.." he repeated the word, the first tear running down his face. Alpha Cages' look shifted, spotting the red mark that had marred Ezra's chin. Guilt flashed in his eyes for a second and then he pulled away, letting go o
Ezra didn't think, he felt the weight hanging off his shoulders suddenly disappear and he ran into him, wrapping his arms around his alpha. Cages' arms tightened around his small frame and kept him pressed to his chest. Kael's blank expression stayed as he looked at them and Alpha Cage growled at him. "The Omega camp is off limits" he growled and Ezra frowned and tried to step back but Alpha Cage's grip tightened. "I was only taking a walk. To see what it'll look like" "Again.." Alpha Cage growled. "The Omega camp is off limits. The guards will inform you of the areas you're allowed access" Kael's smile slipped but he didn't break from his stiff character so he nodded with a smile. "I'll return" he said and walked past, shooting one look at the Omega, and then he was gone. Ezra felt Alpha Cage's breathing slow down and his grip instantly loosen. Ezra stepped back, peering up at him through his lashes. Cage felt his chest thump as he stared down at him. His cold palm cupped his
In the days that followed, the situation worsened. More refugees arrived like a storm. The camp that had been organized for only a few days turned into chaos. Leon and Ezra were doing their best in handling the situation but there was little they could do with the large number of refugees and very few resources. And worse, he had no access to Alpha Cage. Since the day he’d rushed out over a knock, Ezra had not set his eyes on him. His worry grew and the situation at hand only made things worse. More refugees only meant more attacks. And Alpha Cage was at the center of it. His stomach clenched each time he thought of it. “Ezra.” He looked up and saw Leon coming towards him. “There are no beds” The ground underneath him became unsteady. The problems only seemed to grow worse with every day. He rose from where he’d crouched to look at the state of the camp. The dreadful smell had returned. The growing number was difficult to manage. And Ezra hated to admit.. That he had failed
The steady knocks on the door pulled them both out of their afternoon sleep. After a round at the edge of the camp, Cage had carried a half asleep Ezra and brought him back to the pack house.Cage was on his feet in an instant, grabbing his pants and marching to the door while Ezra rubbed the sleep away. He heard the door open and heard the loud growl come from the door followed by a loud bang. Ezra immediately sensed something was wrong. He grabbed Alpha Cages' shift and pulled it over his head as he walked towards the door. “Alpha?” He heard ruffling in the closet. “I have to leave” Ezra couldn’t help the disappointment that he felt. Alpha Cage had asked him to round up at the camp for the day so he could be with him. He’d liked the idea of it and now, he was leaving. “Will you be back?” He stared expectantly. “I don’t know” his cold voice reached Ezra’s ears. “Don’t wait up and stay indoors. And if you must go to the camp, a guard will go with you” Alpha Cage was pushing pa
Ezra's mouth snapped shut and heat rushed through him. "A-Alpha Cage" he stuttered, face turning red and Cage drew in closer, his lips brushing against his neck. Ezra leaned into the touch, need running through him instantly."Do you want that?" Cage's gravelly voice grated on his ears. Ezra's mouth hung open while his brain searched for an answer. He was busy..people were waiting. He had something to prove to Alpha Cage. But as he touched him so closely and he inhaled his heady pheromones, all his mind screamed for was him to give in."Yes," the answer slipped out easily.Alpha Cage kissed him instantly, his tongue pushing into Ezra's mouth, hot and demanding. His fingers cupped the back of his neck as he kept him in place, exploring every inch of his mouth. Ezra was lost in the kiss, his entire body falling against his Alpha in desperate desire. Cage's kisses trailed lower, over the length of his neck and to the top of his collarbone. His fingers tugged at the shirt and the knots
Ezra's mind was fogged up from the moment he opened his eyes. The sunlight above him was punishing. He stared at the clouds in confusion for a few seconds. He rolled over, and his body was stopped by a warm log. Ezra paused as his ears picked up the sound of a beating heart. Logs didn't have heart
The Alpha wasn't the least bit disgusted by the thought. There was something about the Omega that made him want to do things he'd never thought of doing before. He leaned in, sniffing the Omega's dripping ass. It smelled like honey and flowers. He couldn't hold back on the urge anymore and buried
Ezra stumbled backwards, heart still pounding in his chest in fear. The water rippled around him as he tried to move away from the domineering gaze of the wolf. "Step out," the command floated into his head, sharp and cold. It sank into his bones, absolute and heavy. Ezra's mind became m
At the time the new batch of Omegas arrived at the Orion Pack, Ezra had the two most important rules etched into his brain. First, keep your eyes down and ask no questions. Second, don't ever cross Alphas. The rules were repeated severally that even the children knew them word for word. Ezr
