Lila’s POV

I gulped down the lump that had formed in my throat. I hadn’t intended for anyone to catch me. Curse that stupid trash can!

I was donned in a black outfit and my face was covered by a black face veil. My black outfit also had a hood.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Caspian was already making his way from behind me. No, I couldn’t be caught and interrogated.

This Alpha who despised me might even order my execution once he saw my face.

I have no other option; thankfully I brought the smoke bombs in case of an emergency.

Before Kael could grab my neck, I threw down two smoke bombs and quickly made my escape, using my stealth skills to the max.

Hmph!

I can’t wait to see their faces of despair when rogues finally conquer this impotent pack.

An alarm started blaring so loud in the pack that my ears were hurting.

When did they install this stuff? And with werewolves being very sensitive to loud sounds, wasn’t this torture to themselves?

I could see the panic in the pack as I sprinted.

To my surprise, many pack members who came out of their homes looked exhausted. Only the pack warriors, who looked quite slow, were taking measures to look for the intruder.

I scoffed as I saw this pitiful sight. Even if rogues didn’t take them down, at this point, even a lower-ranked pack can conquer Bloodstone. They more than deserve it.

I heard a powerful howl from behind me and my steps faltered for a moment.

That was Cassian’s howl. Such a howl would instill more courage in pack members, temporarily making them stronger than they would be in their prime. But such a howl was reserved for occasions when the pack was fighting off a mighty invasion from enemies.

Damn it, this bastard was going all out just to catch me.

I leaped onto the roof of a house, and from there, I could see a grand structure, which I assumed was none other than Cassian’s residence in the distance.

I would be a fool to try to get in there.

Right now, I needed to escape, that was the priority.

“Don’t you dare move, or we’ll shoot,”

I heard someone say and I looked to my left. There on the roof of a house not too far from the one was on, a young man clad in black was aiming an arrow at me. Not just him, there were several of them who popped up on different rooftops.

I sighed and simply raised both hands in the air, “I surrender,” I said.

“Stand still,” the one on my right said as he sprinted in my direction.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t going to get caught so easily. I threw the remaining smoke bomb I had with me and rolled off the building.

According to the plan, I was to fall to the ground, pick myself up, and continue my escape.

But I fell into someone’s arms and worst of all, he wasn’t some stranger, but that despicable bastard.

Beneath my veil, I gritted my teeth, internally ransacking my brain for ways to escape his hold. But the search result came out negative.

“Quite a graceful landing,” he remarked.

“Put me down!” I said in a rage.

I should have stolen poison daggers as well. This was the perfect time to stab him to death!

He indeed put me down.

“Who is behind you?” he asked, arms crossed before his chest.

“It’s not your business,” I said, glaring at him.

“Oh, it is,” before I knew it, the Alpha had put me over his shoulder.

“Stop this nonsense. Put me down, you scumbag. Where are you taking me?” I yelled, hitting his shoulders in hopes that he would obey.

“Pack’s clearing. It’ll be fun there,” he responded.

I felt a sense of de vaju. That was the place where he shattered me two years ago. Now he was bringing me there for what? To ask the public to stone me to death?

Seeing their Alpha with an unfamiliar figure, curious pack members headed to the clearing as well, and before I knew it, the entire pack had gathered around us.

He put me down and turned to Kael who had just arrived, “Tie her to a stake. I want this sly thing to serve as an example,”

“You,” I glared at him while also feeling nervous.

I was truly dead meat; there was no way I could escape now.

“So, you’re ready to tell me who your master is?” he asked me with a leisurely tone.

I scoffed, “You’re a dying man, what right have you got to question me?”

Before I knew it, there was a blade to my neck. It was the Gamma.

“Kneel,” he commanded me.

“In your dreams,” I spat, quickly acting on the idea in my head.

I soon had the situation reversed, now the blade was in my possession, placed to his neck.

“Alpha, is it really alright for me to let her win? My honor is trampled in front of everyone,” the gamma said in the complaint, not even worried that I wanted to use him as a bargaining chip.

Sighing, I threw away the blade and then took out a red pill hidden in my clothes. It wasn’t dangerous, besides, high-ranking rogue fighters have this. But to these idiots who have never seen it, they might think I wanted to commit suicide.

Before I could put it in my mouth, the Alpha was already standing before me, grabbing my hand.

Due to the suddenness of his arrival, the pill fell from my hand and he stomped on it.

“No more playing games,” he, without a heads-up, took off my veil, causing my eyes to widen.

“Lila?” It was the Beta and he looked honestly shocked, knowing it was me. “What are you doing here and dressed like this?”

“None of your business,” I spat while still locking a heated gaze with the Alpha.

“Lila,” the Alpha’s eyes had softened, and that applied to his subsequent tone as well.

“You’re back, I’ve missed you,” he whispered to me.

This revelation sparked different reactions from the pack members present.

“What? That’s Lila?”

“That runaway rogue’s daughter? I thought she was dead by now,”

“Gotta admit, she looks cool in that outfit though,”

“Why did she come back? Is she a spy?”

“Everyone, return to your homes. There is no more danger. As you’ve seen, the intruder is our very own,” the Gamma said, also leaving with the others.

Now, I was left with Cassian and the Beta.

“You missed me?” I questioned with a scoff, “Or do you regret not finding me sooner so you could slay me personally?”

“Lila,” he suddenly embraced me, “I’m glad you came back. It’s been hell without you, dear,”

Kael's POV: I sat at the bar, nursing a whiskey on the rocks. I couldn't believe Lila had chosen Cassian over me. I thought we had a connection, but I guess I was wrong. As I sat there, feeling sorry for myself, Aria walked in. She was a beautiful woman, with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. She was also a bit of a wild child, always up for a good time. She spotted me at the bar and walked over, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Hey, Kael," she said, sliding onto the stool next to me. "What's wrong? You look like you've lost your last friend." I sighed, taking a swig of my drink. "Lila chose Cassian," I said, feeling a pang of hurt. Aria's eyes widened in surprise. "No way," she said. "I thought for sure she'd choose you." I shrugged, feeling a bit defeated. "I guess I was wrong." Aria put a hand on my arm, her touch sending a spark of electricity through my body. "Don't worry, Kael," she said. "You'll find someone better than Lila. Someone who appreciates you for

lila's pov As we stood there, our bodies entwined, I could feel the heat emanating from Cassian's skin. His hands were on my waist, his fingers tracing the curves of my body. I felt a rush of excitement, my heart racing with anticipation. Cassian's eyes locked on mine, and I could see the passion burning in them. "Lila," he whispered, his voice husky with desire. "I want to take this slow. I want to savor every moment with you." I smiled, feeling my heart flutter. "I want that too, Cassian," I replied. And with that, Cassian leaned in, his lips brushing against mine. We kissed slowly, our lips moving in perfect sync. As we kissed, Cassian's hands roamed my body, his fingers tracing the curves of my waist and my hips. I felt a rush of excitement, my body responding to his touch. We broke apart for a moment, gasping for air. Cassian's eyes locked on mine, and I could see the passion burning in them. "Lila," he whispered, his voice husky with desire. Lila's POV: I sat on a rock overlooking the forest, my mind racing with thoughts of Cassian and Kael. Both of them had claimed a piece of my heart but in different ways. Cassian, my fated mate, had rejected me, leaving me feeling broken and unwanted. But despite his rejection, I couldn't deny the deep connection we shared. He was my mate, and a part of me would always belong to him. On the other hand, Kael had been by my side, supporting and loving me unconditionally. He had shown me that love didn't have to be complicated or painful. He had shown me that love could be gentle, kind, and all-consuming. As I sat there, weighing my feelings for both men, I realized that I had a choice to make. I could choose to follow my heart, to see if there was still a chance for Cassian and me. Or I could choose to follow my head, to accept the love that Kael so freely offered. But as I thought about it, I realized that it wasn't that simple. My heart and head were at war, each pulling me in dif

Aria's POV: As I sat around the fire with my new pack, I couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. They had accepted me as one of their own, and I was grateful for that. As I looked around at the faces of my pack, my eyes landed on Kael. He was Cassian's beta, and he had been instrumental in helping me adjust to life with the pack. I had to admit, I had noticed Kael from the moment I arrived. He was handsome and strong, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through me. But it wasn't just his physical appearance that drew me to him. It was his kind and gentle nature, his patience and understanding. As I watched him laughing and joking with the others, I felt a flutter in my chest. I couldn't believe it, but I was starting to develop feelings for Kael. I tried to push the thoughts away, telling myself that I was being ridiculous. I had only just joined the pack, and I barely knew Kael. But as the night wore on, I found myself stealing glances at Kael more and more.

Lila's POV: I watched as Aria settled into her new role within the pack. She was a natural, quickly learning the ins and outs of our little community. I was happy to see her thriving, and I found myself growing closer to her with each passing day. We would spend hours talking and laughing together, and I felt like I had finally found a true friend. One day, as we were out gathering berries, Aria turned to me with a curious expression. "Lila, can I ask you something?" she said. "Of course, what is it?" I replied. Aria hesitated, looking unsure. "I was just wondering...what's it like being in a relationship with Kael?" she asked. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I thought about Kael. We had been together for a while now, and it was still hard to believe how much I loved him. "It's amazing," I said, smiling. "Kael is such a kind and caring person. He always puts others before himself, and he makes me feel so loved and supported." Aria smiled, looking happy for me. "I'm so glad

Cassian's POV I stood before my pack, my eyes scanning the crowd. We had just emerged victorious from a brutal battle, but our celebration was short-lived. "Lila, Kael," I said, my voice firm. "I need to speak with you." They approached me, their faces set with concern. I could smell the fatigue emanating from them, but I knew they would push through it for the sake of our pack. "It's about Aria," I said, my voice low. "She's gone missing." Lila's eyes widened, and Kael's face darkened. "What do you mean?" Lila asked, her voice trembling. I took a deep breath. "I mean that she was seen leaving the battlefield, but she never returned. We've searched the area, but there's no sign of her." Kael's face twisted in a snarl. "We need to find her," he growled. I nodded. "I agree. But we need to be careful. We don't know what we're up against." Lila's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the determination burning within her. "We'll find her, Cassian," she said. "I promise." I nodde

Lila's POV: As we emerged from the den, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. We had done it. We had defeated Ariana and saved our pack. But as I looked over at Kael and Cassian, I could see the tension still etched on their faces. They knew, just as I did, that this wasn't the end. That there would be more battles to come, more challenges to overcome. We made our way back to the pack, our footsteps quiet on the forest floor. As we walked, I couldn't help but think about everything that had happened. About the way Kael and Cassian had fought to protect me, about the way we had worked together to defeat Ariana. And as I thought about it, I realized something. I realized that I had feelings for both Kael and Cassian. Feelings that went beyond friendship and loyalty. I felt a flutter in my chest as I looked over at them. They were both so strong, so brave. And they had both risked their lives to protect me. As we approached the pack, I could see the others waitin

Kael's POV: I groggily opened my eyes, wincing in pain as the bright light of the cave entrance pierced my brain. I was lying on a cold, rocky floor, my head throbbing with a dull ache. As I struggled to sit up, I saw Cassian and Lila huddled together in the corner of the cave. They were both staring at me with worried expressions. "Kael, thank goodness you're awake," Lila said, rushing over to my side. "We were so worried about you." I rubbed my temples, trying to remember what had happened. "What...what did Ariana do to me?" I asked, my voice rough. Cassian's face was grim. "She used some kind of poison dart on you," he said. "We were ambushed. I'm sorry, Kael. I should have protected you better." I shook my head, feeling a surge of anger. "It's not your fault, Cassian," I said. "Ariana's a cunning foe. We underestimated her." Lila's eyes were wide with fear. "We have to get out of here," she said. "Ariana could return at any moment." I nodded, my mind racing. We had to esca
