Kieran's POV

Straightening the shirt I had on, I exited the SUV that I rode in, letting out a small groan as I made my way towards the neon sign post a few miles away from me.

I hated Donovan with everything in me, but I couldn't even fight him. I was no match for that man; the throbbing headache, coupled with the ache I still felt in my ribs, was a subtle reminder that he was no match for me.

To make things worse, Kayden's men lingered around, trailing my every move. Donovan was being watched as well, but he'd somehow felt that it was best for me to take the fall instead, and go to the council to claim back my mate.

That was only going to bring death to our doorstep.

Giving a small wave at the bouncer perched at the entrance, he pulled the metal doors back and I strolled in.
