Layla’s POV

I had promised myself I wasn’t going to let anything she said get to me, but at this point, I knew if I did not react, she would take advantage of the fact that I chose not to say anything and keep on with the taunting.

“Who do you think I am? Your friend? Oh! Young lady, you must have thought that because you are pregnant for my husband, you can do whatever you want here.” I began to move close to her, and with each step, I could feel her heartbeat race heavily.

Something tells me that once again, she is being put up to this and at this point, I cannot even tell if that is real or not anymore.

“Whatever happened between you and Nate is between you and Nate. I don’t need to know about it.”

Her phone beeped, and I stepped away a little. She looked at the screen of the phone and her face lit up in a grin. I wondered what could make her grin like that. It looked like whatever she saw gave her a newfound confidence and she looked at me with defiance in her eyes.
