Eve's POV

"I cannot leave my child with someone like that," Curtis said, rising abruptly from behind his desk. "She thinks Eleona should call her mom. She is not okay."

"I'll come with you!" I called out, rushing out of the office right behind him.

I called out, rushing out of the office right behind him.We ran down the wide corridors, hurrying down to the play ground. Curtis shoved the doors open, stepping out onto the gravel path with his chest heaving. The playground was completely deserted. Eleona’s wooden bench was empty, her small guitar left sitting on the grass."Eleona!" Curtis yelled, his voice laced with sudden panic. He turned around, scanning the empty bushes and the empty stone path. "Eleona! Where are you?"There was no answer. The nanny was nowhere to be seen either, even though she was supposed to be supervising the child every single second.Curtis’s face twisted in pure rage. "Where the hell is my daughter?" he roared, striding deeper into the yard. He began shouting for the guards, his voice booming across the estate. "

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Taking You Home!

Unknown POV Eleona turned around to show Eve her new song, but the place she had been standing at was empty. Only Lady Jaya remained, standing a few feet away with a wide, fixed smile on her face."You know, baby," Jaya cooed, taking a slow step toward the bench. "Mama has missed you so much."Eleona shifted uncomfortably on the bench, hugging her guitar closer to her chest. She had been raised to be polite to guests, so she gave a small, stiff nod. "Thank you for coming around, Lady Jaya."Jaya’s smile faltered for a second, her brows drawing together. She stepped closer, kneeling down in front of the eight-year-old girl. "Lady Jaya? Why are you calling me that? You know I am your mom, right?"Eleona shook her head, taking a small step back on the wooden bench. "No, you are not. My Mom is late. My dad told me about her.""Your dad lies to you!" Jaya snapped, her voice dropping into a bitter hiss. She reached out and grabbed Eleona’s small shoulders. "Your dad is evil, Eleona. Th

Kolton "Look ahead!" Magdalene shouted, pointing through the cracked windshield as I pressed down on the gas pedal.Several large trucks were roaring down the highway, heading straight toward the roadblock we had just fled from. The heavy vehicles rumbled past us, packed with men holding long, metallic tanks with hoses that looked just like large fire extinguishers. Before I could turn the wheel, the lead truck slowed down near us. The men pointed their hoses at the creature clinging to my hood and sprayed a thick, white chemical mist directly into its face as it turned to look at them, temporarily distracted. The vampire let out a sickening scream, instantly releasing its grip on the glass. It fell backward onto the hard road, clutching its head and screeching in agony as it scrambled on all fours back into the thick dark woods.I slammed my foot on the brake, pulling the truck onto the shoulder to watch what was happening. More trucks pulled up to the barricade, spraying the same

Kolton "We are not getting out of this car," I said, keeping my hands locked on the steering wheel as the headlights cast bright beams across the heavy barricades blocking the road.Magdalene stared at the massive pile of timber and rusted iron ahead, her eyes wide with panic. "Aren't we going to clear the road? We can't just sit here.""Hold on," I muttered, leaving the windows rolled all the way up. I kept my eyes fixed on the shadows beyond the headlights. Whoever had put the roadblock together was not up to anything good. They were out here to trap travelers, steal, or launch an ambush.I sat still, keeping the engine idling as I scanned the dark tree line. A faint rustle broke through the quiet of the night. It came from within the brush on the right side of the road, though the exact spot was impossible to pin down.Beside me, Magdalene started to shiver. Her whole body shook with sudden terror, her hands gripping the edge of her seat so hard her knuckles turned white."I don't

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Mama?

EveI was watching Eleona play the guitar and sing. Eleona sat on a low wooden bench, her small fingers pressing against the strings with practiced ease. She was playing a gentle melody, her sweet voice carrying softly across the yard. I had been heading toward the main hall for the upcoming brunch meeting when I heard the music, and I had paused just to watch her. I did not know she was this good at playing.Footsteps crunched softly on the gravel beside me. I turned my head to see Jaya standing there. Her face wore a large, placid smile, but her eyes were fixed entirely on Eleona."Doesn't she look adorable?" Jaya whispered, her voice barely louder than the strum of the strings. "She is so talented."I kept my expression neutral and nodded. "Yes, she does look adorable, and of course, she is talented."We stood in silence for a moment, watching the little girl play. A cold, prickling sensation crawled up the back of my neck. I wondered what Jaya was really up to, because I knew fo

Eve Jaya came back smiling, her composure fully restored as if the tension from moments ago had never happened."I apologize for the brief interruption," Jaya said smoothly, taking her seat across from Curtis once again. "I have thought things over. I would actually like to spend a couple more days at Summer Pack. I just sent a message to my father letting him know that my party may need to stick around until we strike a proper agreement. From the looks of it, we have not reached a consensus yet, and it is getting late."Curtis rested his hands on the wooden table, his face unreadable. "We could have the conversation right now, Jaya. We can talk through the contract terms and come to a solid conclusion if you want to. There is still enough time left today to finish this meeting."Jaya waved a hand dismissively, offering a smile. "Oh, no. I would much rather rest. We can pick up the meeting tomorrow, and if needed, take a few days to sort out the fine print properly. I insist."Curt
