Chapter Nine

Clarissa

Talia’s bickering with Silas had taken my attention away from Dacre and the fact that we had just witnessed a murder.

But I recalled it the second my eyes fell on the two girls who were Miranda’s friends again. They were sitting rigidly and whispering to each other.

Probably they were trying to ensure that we all rot in jail forever.

The car’s ignition took a few minutes to start but I was hyperaware of the fact that I was sitting on the lap of the guy I had kissed half an hour ago.

Even his legs felt like bricks to me and I clutched to the headrest of the front seat so as to not slide down.

The car took a while to start and the tall man cranked the ignition a bit too hard, throwing me on Dacre’s chest.

“Ouch” I groaned as my head bumped with the ceiling of the car. He placed his palm on my back and pushed me forward as I struggled to get up.

“Sorry fellas, you have a bumpy ride ahead” The patrol guard stated as he began driving the car like a madman.
