There was once a time eons ago when a handsome prince walked through the wide open gates and marched towards the castle.
Nobody was around and that was how he liked it. Solitude was how he managed to bury the chaos within him.
However, the moment he set foot inside the gate, he sensed a presence.
Instantly, his posture went rigid and his footsteps echoed through the wide space, the sound of his shoes’ heels clattering on the glassy surface of the ground, bouncing off the walls and further amplifying the noise.
He was angry…he was fuming in rage.
His handsome face was now turned into a scowl and the clouds above mirrored his dark mood instantly. The whites of the cloud were replaced by grey and soon they began thundering, in tandem with the footsteps of the prince.
There was only one thing on his mind…vengeance.
Curling his hands into fists he kept advancing ahead, slamming the wide and large doors of the palace open just with a thought. He didn’t even have to use his hands to make it happen.
The doors crashed into the walls behind them with a booming voice, almost throwing splinters around but the being sitting on the far end of the hall paid no heed.
A vein throbbed in his forehead signifying how much he loathed to see the person sitting on the throne.
His throne.
She was an otherworldly beauty, a sight to behold and she was currently sprawled across the throne, her heels tapping against the floor when she moved. The folds of her large, pale blue gown rustled as she crossed her legs.
His rage was emanating from him like a whiff of smoke, angry and charred yet she refused to look in his direction.
Her long silky hair cascaded down her back like a river and her dress glittered as if it was made of the stars themselves.
Maybe, it was.
A thigh high slit revealed her long, slender legs as the dress’s folds fell on either side of her as if it was made of liquid silk.
She knew his eyes were on her so she slowly raised her hand and placed the tip of her nails painted with the color matching that of the sky. She then began tracing loose circles on her thigh as if she was doing so absent-mindedly.
But, he knew better.
She was caressing her leg, suggestively, her smooth skin glowing radiantly. Her hair fell forward, hiding her beautiful features as her eyelashes fluttered when he raised his hand and smacked the air in front of him.
A wave of air hit her as if he had slapped her with his hand. But other than blinking rapidly, she did nothing else.
“Begone intruder”
He snarled as he continued walking toward her.
That was when she finally raised her head to look at him. Again, she said nothing but her hand now travelled up her slender waist and towards her chest.
She bent a little to adjust her dress’ folds and he was gifted with the sight of her cleavage. Her shimmering, pale blue dress clung to her curves perfectly and left little to the imagination while the low neckline did a lousy job of covering her bosom.
Her fingers trailed the underside of her breast as she stared at him unabashedly tracing slow delicate circles on her skin.
Now he was affected.
He folded his hands over his chest and glared at her as his reaction made a ghost of a smile flash across her face.
Had he not been consumed by rage, he would have ripped that dress apart and taken her then and there. She knew that all too well.
“You want me, don’t you?”
She asked in a seductive voice and he clicked his tongue reproachfully. He wanted to look away but that would only tell her that he was affected…of how much he wanted to throw her back on the throne and let his hands roam on her bare skin…of how much he wanted to…
He shook his head as if to clear the intrusive thoughts in his head.
“Leave before I throw you out” He scowled but she paid no heed to his insult. Instead, she continued to smile.
“I hope you know that you will have to touch me to do that, your highness.”
She stressed the last two words longer than necessary, her voice dripping with mirth.
If she had meant to make his scowl turn uglier, she failed. In an unexpected reaction, he let out a chuckle that soon turned into a laugh.
For a moment, she forgot everything else and kept staring at him like a curious bird.
His face lit up like the sun when he laughed, and he clutched his stomach to stop himself. His eyes watered and he wiped them off with the back of his hand.
Her smile faded and she got up from the throne and began descending the steps. She was truly ethereal and her hips swayed from left to right as her heels clinked against the floor.
Slowly, like a gazelle, she approached him and raised her hand to place it on his chest right above his heart which was beating wildly.
He shuddered at the touch and clenched his jaw as his eyes fell close for a short moment. She observed his face, the numerous scars etched on his skin that had now faded with time, leaving only faint lines behind.
Those scars made him look even more handsome, more princely.
After taking a moment to calm his heart, he asked, “You think I want this palace? The riches?” referring to the way she had taken a jibe at his title.
He waited just for a moment before answering, “Then I’ll reduce the palace to ashes”
No sooner had he said so, flames erupted all around them. He had set his palace on fire.
It was of no use to him now that she had set her foot in here. The flames danced around them, as the palace began to slowly crumble.
The throne behind them was being devoured by angry flames as he grit his teeth, “I will do anything to get rid of you….anything.”
She saw the flames mirrored in his eyes that were devoid of all emotions except hatred. She closed the distance between them, their lips just a hair’s breadth away as she whispered,
“And, I will do anything to make you mine”
She smiled as she dug her nails into his chest which began to bleed.
“Anything”
Clarissa The flames were burning high, their fiery embers licking the sky. It shone bright and burned fiercely yet all I felt while standing in front of it was…anger. Anger at the being who had brought death and destruction upon me, upon those I loved. My eyes watered due to the heat that should have melted my skin and bones but I was merely looking around, trying to locate him. The smoke that rose high in the sky made me fear for my loved ones. I couldn’t find them yet I had a sinking feeling that they were somewhere near yet beyond my reach. I feared the fire would devour everything that mattered to me…and snatch away everyone from me. That feeling made my heart skip a beat. Panic encroached upon me and I began shouting hoarsely for my family. “Mom…dad…Talia” But I heard no response. Surrounded by a sea of flames, I roamed around for a while before I found him…or what was a shadow of him. “What do you want?” I screamed amidst the roaring flames that were engulfing everythin
Clarissa Talia dragged me out of the room, our drawings were forgotten on the table as the sounds of mom and dad passionately kissing each other filled the space. Talia continued to giggle while I only frowned, “Aren’t they too much? They behave like they found each other just a minute ago.” “You look quite hot in the morning, sweetheart,” Dad murmured as he grabbed mom who chuckled, “so do you, alpha Hayden” and returned his kiss with equal fervor. I angrily yanked the zipper of my bag open and pulled out a rubber band to tie my hair. “They were fated mates, Clary. And from what aunt Raine has told us about their story, mom and dad were infatuated with each other even before they found out that they were mates. How exciting!!” My sister gushed and I rolled my eyes. Sometimes, I wondered if she really was my twin. We looked so similar yet were so different. While we had the same brown hair as our mom, Talia’s hair was a deep chestnut and wavy while mine was unmanageable. Her eye
Clarissa I wondered how my twin had the energy to get ready like a diva and threw her a skeptical look, “You know I won the bet, right? You are going to drop Kyler’s topic.” Talia was applying eyeliner when she asked, “Just what is your problem with him? What did he ever do to you?” “He is a show-off and there are rumors he got some girl pregnant by forcing himself on her. I am just doing my sisterly duties.” Talia shrugged off my concern, “Girls are more than willing to let him impregnate them as long as they can secure a chance to be his luna.” “Whatever. I just don’t like him. Find somebody else.” I got up and studied my reflection in the mirror. I was dressed in a backless tank top and jeans while Talia was wearing a short dress that perfectly hugged her curves. She had done a good job of taming my wild hair that now fell down my shoulders in waves. I looked fine but she truly looked like a diva. I looked at the clock and it was almost time to head to the party. We got into
ClarissaI was growing angrier by the minute and decided to go to the washroom instead to wash my face and calm down. My phone rang and I picked it up.“What are my two princesses doing?” Dad’s voice asked me and I immediately tried to relax myself.“We are at the Madhouse dad, Talia dragged me here,” I grumbled.Dad only chuckled, “You should try to make friends, Clary. Anyways, I tried Talia’s phone but she didn’t receive my call so I gave you a ring. I and mom have to go to the west to discuss and renew our accords for the pack treaty.”I frowned, “When are you going?”“We will be leaving in an hour and returning in a week or so. While we are gone try to behave and return home soon tonight, ok?”Dad said and I replied, “Yes dad”“Also ask them to not forget practicing the runes” I heard mom shout at him from a bit further away.My father laughed and said, “They don’t need to be reminded about that, right?”I replied in a low voice, “Ok dad. Come back soon”“Love you and take care
Clarissa “Shit” I muttered and stepped out of hiding. I walked towards the two and Silas chuckled in a rather dangerous way, his eyes glinting with malice. “You sure she is with her? She looks rather pale and weak to me.” He asked as I walked towards them. Now, I could see the room clearly and gave a quick scan of the place to see where were the nearest exits. It looked like a store room with piles of discarded broken chairs, ropes, and other forgotten things. The only source of illumination was a big bulb that hung down from the ceiling right above Miranda’s head. The rest of it was dark. There were rectangular windows high above near the ceiling that I could not reach and only a single door, the same one we had walked in through. I shivered despite not feeling cold. Dacre had gone completely silent as he saw me step out of my hiding spot. He threw a lingering gaze on me, his eyes raking me from bottom to top and then quickly dismissing me as a tissue paper. I felt his gaze sta
ClarissaDo I worry about taking the life of someone or do I revel in the feelings bubbling inside of me? Dacre had taken me off guard and despite my multiple protests kept advancing toward me.My first instinct was to run away, to fight him, and to even bite hard into his hand holding the dagger. But, all of them vanished when he did the unexpected and leaned in to kiss me.Of all the things I would have imagined him to do to me, this was the least. I should have protested hard, should have kicked him where the sun didn’t shine. But the moment his lips touched mine, it was as if all logic flew out of my head. There was something about him that was odd…different. Like he was different from the rest of us.Whatever this ‘different’ meant! When his fingers brushed my bare back, I shivered, not due to fear but due to pleasure. That was definitely not how a killer would touch his prey. There was something sensual about the way he touched me. At least I hoped so.Because the emotions I n
Clarissa I took a moment to steady my raging heart, adjusted my top, and then stepped out of the door. When I did, I was surprised to see that there was practically nobody in the pub save a few stragglers who were still drinking or passed out. How did everybody leave so soon? I wondered and looked for my sister. Damn, I had forgotten everything when I was with Dacre. The main doors were locked on the inside and a few waiters were waking up the passed out people to make them leave through the back door. I wildly looked around and saw a door on my far left falling shut slowly. It was on the far end of the passageway that I had entered to follow Dacre earlier. I rushed towards the door and flung it open before stepping outside. The cool wind splashed into my face and I saw that the path led to the forest. I again looked around, not knowing where to go next. My instincts told me that I should head home as Talia had either left with Kyler to have sex with him or been the good girl and
Clarissa“Just what in the name of Goddess is going on?” I heard a voice but couldn’t quite pin the owner to it.I was standing on the ground, transfixed at the sight of the girl who had just died in front of me and stated that I was the killer. The two girls who were Miranda’s friends began shrieking and howling loudly as more and more people began to approach us.Gasps followed murmurs and those followed stares and accusations as both the girls I didn’t quite recall the names of, began to loudly wail and tell everyone of how I had taken the life of their best friend.I was too dazed to even move and for a long time, I only kept staring at the dead body of Miranda that was soaked in blood.Dacre and Silas exchanged a look upon understanding how the issue had blown up. A look passed between them but I was too busy to pay attention to them.A chill ran down my spine at the thought of my parents seeing the body of the dead girl and how they would react upon knowing that I was a suspect.
