Chapter 121: Sutton

When I woke up the next morning, I briefly thought Lucas had set me up the night before when he said my attendance was contingent on being able to move. I thought I had been sore yesterday but this morning, I found myself having to literally roll out of bed. Luckily, after some teasing from Nova and a very long hot shower, I was able to get a full range of motion if I needed to.

I was staring at my hairbrush on the bathroom counter. I wondered if I could make my arms work long enough to get the tangles out when Lucas walked in. I grabbed the brush quickly and started pulling it through the ends of my hair. Lucas came up beside me and crossed his arms over his chest.

“Lift your arms,” he stated.

“Excuse me?” I replied, narrowing my eyes at him.

“Lift… your… arms,” he repeated. “Come on. Over your head.”

I returned my brush to the counter with a huff and shoved my arms into the air. I managed not to wince, maintaining my annoyed expression through the ridiculous demonstration.
