"How can Duncan be your mate? Of all werewolves in this pack and outside, it had to be Duncan?"

I swallowed and looked up at him. "The same way your mate ended up being the woman who broke your heart."

Silence fell between us, my eyes wide. When he spoke again, his voice was calm, yet angry. So angry.

"Hazel, you seem to always forget. In the eyes of the world and mine...you are the woman the moon goddess has given to me. Don't go around saying things about Catherine because I don't want to have to deal with any mess." He sighed and raked his hands through his hair.

"It is so easy to do that, I guess." I answer in a small voice. I wasn't even sure if I was sarcastic.

"About Duncan..." He sucked in his lower lip. "Let it stay between us. Since he is already dead, the mate bond doesn't stand for anything any longer. It is already severed and you are a free wolf now."

I took in a deep breath. "You asked me to think of this as you intertwining the thread of bonds. I guess you forgot to me

I twisted a few things to suit my story line, as I have absolutely no obligation to follow the normal. I do hope you enjoy it but if you don't, that's perfect too. Also, for the mistakes you pointed out, I will edit the entire book after it's complete. Thanks for reading.

IDK about this story so far. Giving it a chance, but not vested yet. FMC is a child like person. I have no idea what is going with the mate bond if you can call it that the way these characters act so nonchalant about it.
