Chapter 7: Meeting him.

Leo.

I stood in front of the mirror confidently smirking at how good l looked.

I finished with the last button before a knock came on the door and l already knew it was Zena.

"You look so good brother, now let's see who'd be the one to get attention,” She said, gazing at me with glamour in her eyes.

“I don't wish to seek attention in the human world. They have nothing on me and it doesn't really matter because they don't exist to me as much as l don't exist to them.”

"Whatever you say, Alpha Leo. The car is ready, we should start going."

I glanced at the mirror again before making my way out of the room and headed to the latest Bentley Bentayga AWD l bought for me myself in the early days of the new year.

“I will drive,” My Beta, Auden said, getting into the driver's seat.

"You look so good, Leo. I'm jealous of going with you now, you deserve all the spotlight,” Zena praised, staring at me like we don't stay under the same roof together all the time.

“Are you just seeing me for the first time in your life, Zena?"

"But you do look very good, Alpha,” Auden adds, looking at me through the rear mirror as our eyes meet together.

"I choose the best things for my brother, Beta,” Zena replied sarcastically to Auden as they both cackled together.

I shook my head tiredly and let out a sigh, enjoying the beautiful scenery leading to the Alien's villa.

Sometimes sitting in the car and acting moderately isn't really for me. If it was my kind's gathering I'd have probably scampered through the woods and gotten here immediately.

The silence between the Zena and l is what l enjoy the most. Quietness and aloneness makes it easier to have control of what is happening around you.

"There are so many people here, are you sure this is okay for you?” Auden asked me sincerely as we took the next turn. Cars were already filled on both sides of the road, some were driving slowly into the Mansion.

“I'm fine, Auden,” l retorted with certainty.

My eyes moved with Zena's hand as she gave the invitation card to Auden so he could show it to the guards when it was our turn.

“A grand party is where one should be on a normal day,” She muttered annoyingly and l ignored her, stepping out of the car as nothing but pure nonsense comes out of her mouth at any given time.

I stood nervously as the whispers and murmurs gushed at me uncontrollably, the air is filled with vague scents, expensive colognes and strange whiffs.

"If you didn't want to come you should have stood on your own words, your face is too gloomy for a party," Auden stares at every corner of my face, “You rarely gather with them, I'm just worried about you, you seem obviously uncomfortable.”

"It's fine, Auden."

"Standing here won't bag the deal, don't you think it will be a good idea to go in there. Greet the celebrant as everyone else is doing?” Zena muttered, getting in the middle between me and Auden.

My eyes wandered in the direction of the Main entrance, “So this is the popular Mr Alien, the one toying with the economy.”

“Alpha Leo, l don't think he will recognise you anyway. The Mason's corporation only knows your name but they haven't met you in person,” Auden explains since he attends most meetings as my representative.

"That is effectively fine by me, I'm everyone's mystery,” l grinned confidently walking toward him.

"Happy Birthday, Mr Alien,” l greeted, stretching out my hand for a handshake with a smile on my lips as courtesy.

“And you are?" He asked, looking at the older man beside him.

I got tense when he kept on holding and patting my hand. If he wants to ask his underlings questions about me, he should at least let go of my hand as he does so.

l sneered feverishly when his right-hand man, called it his beta, whispered to his ears after he got the invitation letter from Auden.

“He is Mr Leo, the shareholder of the leather exchange."

"Oh son, you must be Leo. You are very young, at this age you look very responsible. Who is your father?"

“He was a great man, it's just my mother," I said, still having a slight smile on my lips.

"She must be proud of you, are you engaged? My son is just around your age. Is she your fiance?" He expresses fervently, looking over at Zena.

"No, she is my sister.”

“Oh, that is great. I'm looking for a wife for my son, allow me to introduce your sister to him later,” He said excitedly, patting my shoulder.

"It is left for my sister, Mr Alien."

"You are a good man, welcome please and enjoy the party.”

"This way, Mr Leo,” One of the waiters showed us  to our seats.

"Thank you,” I said to the waiter, unbuttoning my suit to seat comfortably.

"Is it just me but that Man is creepy as hell,” Zena rolled her eyes, tugging her hair behind her ears.

"You wanted to come to his party so bad Zena, now you are calling him creepy. l don't think you have the best information, he already wants to introduce you to his son,” I teased her.

Although a business mogul like him will wish to give me a proposal, my sister is my only sibling and l can't trade her for anything.

“See Leo don't make a mockery of that, l don't know what the son looks like or what his type is. It is already mysterious that most people don't even know that he has a son, some people say he is an adopted son. It’s rare to see a picture of the both of them, it is not really clear who runs the company or who will take over all his property at the end of the day. He has so many people working under him in different cities under the same company name.”

“This is why you should make friends with him but for now, let's enjoy the party,” She continues, gesturing her hands for drinks.

I shook my head incredulously and gulped down a glass of champagne.

My eyes couldn't take a break from wandering around, making me feel uncomfortable. A faint peppermint scent kept rippling my nose but I couldn't get it right.

“Sometimes I wish I was human so I could get to celebrate my birthday every year like this too.”

"You can choose a date, Zena. We can celebrate it for you, only in your room.”

"You mean it, Leo?"

"In your dreams Zena, there is no way l can allow you to turn my house into a party hall,”  l tell her sternly.

Some moments later the light slowly went dim with melodic music, changing the room's atmosphere into an unexplainable aura.

"Look Leo, the girls over there are checking you out,” Zena tapped me.

"And?”

"You are so boring, cheer up. Will you?"

"Not my type."

"Hold up, Leo. You have a type?”

"Alpha?" Auden sits up, curious.

The surprised look on their faces made me roll my eyes confusedly.

“l shouldn't be surprised that someone like him has a type, right Auden?" Zena whispered to Auden.

"You are right,” Auden said without taking his eyes off me.

"You both should stop."

The cacophony of the wine glass caught everyone's attention, Mr Alien taking his time to head to the spotlight, why does his aura speak so much atrocity in a person. There is nothing that will make me listen to what he has to say.

"I need to make use of the restroom."

"I will come with you Alpha," Auden replied immediately.

"That won't be needed, Auden."

"Don't get lost and thanks to the Moon Goddess that you are already leaving my side. At least someone can approach me already, with your stern face like this no one would dare,” Zena whimpered frantically.

I shook my head, gulping down another glass of champagne as I made my way to the restroom. Immediately I opened the door I bumped into a suspicious-looking man.

"Watch where you are going!" He snarled, almost coming at my face. l shook my head and ignored him for his ill manners and heed to my business.

While drying my hands on the air dryer, my ears began to detect a faintly stifling voice of a boy asking for help. I stepped out of the door trying to decipher where the voice was coming from, and my eyes picked up on a suspicious man with bartender costumes rolling a trolley to opposite directions.

I followed him discreetly to the half path of the house. I paused on my feet as he stopped and brought out a boy under it. His tiny hands tied to the back and his mouth closed with a seal tape, his sobs are merely loud in my ears. l stared closely as he drags him to drown him in the pool.

My legs had a mind of their own. I walked to his direction, “Excuse me, what do you think you are doing?"

"It's none of your business!" He said, pointing a gun at me.

I raised my hand in surrender to the air.

I gazed at the boy's eyes, he had tears fumed around his eyes and for the first time in my life my heartfelt possessiveness. He felt like he was mine and he is a big part of me, his scent was almost unpredictable to me.

I couldn't understand how the strange kid made me smile tenderly like l saw my world in his eyes. l found him super cute and he had an effortless peace around him that drew me to him.

"It's not my business but I'm very sure you are not the father of this child. No father in his right sense will tie his child's hands and shut his mouth like this. I'm sorry but you should let him go,” l said, walking slowly toward him.

He immediately clicks the gun, ready to shoot. I'm not afraid as it wouldn't do much damage to me.

"You are not the father of the child either, you have no right to tell me what to do. Just walk away and mind your Goddamn business,” He warned, which made a lot of sense.

It's literally not my business, l could just walk away but I can't bear to see the boy die in front of my eyes.

I shut my eyes tighter when he threw the boy inside the pool. If l leave here tonight I will never be able to forgive myself because I had the chance to save him. Even if he is human, he is still a child that knows nothing about the world and its inhabitants.

Moreover, I don't care if l get caught but l won't allow the boy to drown to death. I'm not an Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack for nothing, the rage within me ignited as I could hear the water wobble excessively. He was trying to save himself.

I walked hastily toward this heartless piece of shit, when he noticed my approach he shot at my left chest which pissed me off bitterly.

I rushed forward and wrapped my hands around his neck, squeezing the daylight out of him. l was slowly lifting him up in mid-air, it would be totally wrong of me to kill a human.

I let him back on his feet as l held his right hand crouching it to the back. I broke his shoulder joint making sure he never used a gun ever again, l pushed him to the ground while l jumped hastily into the water.

At this point, l didn't think of how wet I'll get when l come out or what will happen after this. l just want to save him.

Bringing him out of the pool I was scared l didn't make it in time. Maybe I wasted so much time as he was not opening his eyes, l rushed to untie his hands, taking off the tape carefully.

The scream from the maid left me in total shambles, everyone that heard rushed to the pool gathering and hawking at me like I was doing something bad.

"How dare you try to kidnap the Young master's son?"

" What?"

One of the guards screamed fervently, “We found him!”

I ignored him and tried to wake him up. I checked his pulse but I could barely get anything, so I started CPR. My eyes flashed red as l was still furious, he can't just die, right?

One of the guards, dressed in all black rushed in and hit me on the face. l held my nose considering him for a moment, he rushed out to punch me again and l stood upright, daring him with my stares.

"That is enough David!"

A voice came directly into my ears, needling my mind like an acupuncture practice. The world went on paused, l barely could turn to see where the voice was coming from, l could hear his footsteps in my heart. The delicious and attractive smell of peppermint filled up my nose in a way l might get dizzy, the scent that has been lurking around my nose since I arrived here. Goosebumps decked on my skin and shivers went rapidly to my spine, a mellifluous tone that I had never heard before.

I veered around like l had no strength in my legs.

My wolf began whining tremendously inside of me. My eyes found a resting and happy place on his face as he knelt and picked the boy in his arms, his black thick hair with a classic mullet, almost to his shoulder level. His eyes glowed with a violet colour, one that l have never seen before. His porcelain skin is like the fairest beauty of all my generation, his perfect pink pale lips with duchess nose.

“Young Master, the ambulance will be here any minute,” The guard announced.

"Let me carry him, Mason,”  The one that punched me in the face rushed to his side and picked up the boy.

He stood up and looked at me like l had committed an unreliable crime.

My mate!

He is my mate!

“My Mate,” I murmured under my breath as he walked toward me."
