RYAN’S POV,

I had been waiting for the right moment to present the evidence to Elena.

I couldn't believe Lauren tried to help her after everything that happened. From the look on her face when Julian tried to defend her, I knew she had no interest in him. She was with him for some other reason. Elena was too naive to notice those things; she believed Lauren wanted Julian for herself, and that's why she gave her the photo.

I haven't seen it, and knowing Elena, I was confident she wouldn't show it to me. I didn't ask for it either, because Corbin was able to secure much better evidence against Julian. He thought he was being sneaky by hiring the Shadow Pack to do his dirty work, forgetting who I am and where I came from.

I had been in politics since my teenage years, and those years taught me some valuable lessons.

When Elena told me that she wanted another way, as expected from someone with a heart of gold, I knew it was the right time. She didn't want to use the photo because whatever

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 52: CONFLICT

ELENA’S POV,When I returned to the Presidential palace, Ryan was already outside, waiting for me. He was still wearing his white button-down and navy blue trousers from earlier, but the jacket had been discarded. Seeing him there, I assumed the security team had informed him about what happened in the mall.He was leaning casually against the marble showpiece in front of the entrance, on a call with someone. But his eyes turned sharp the moment he saw the car passing through the main gate. He ended the call and stood up straight as the car stopped right where he was standing.I took a deep breath before climbing out, with the shopping bags in my hand.“What are you doing outside, Ryan?” I asked, walking closer to him. “And where is Molly?”“What did Lauren want?” he inquired without wasting a single breath. It was so sudden and to the point, it made me wonder if he’d been rehearsing the question in his mind ever since he got the call. “Why was she even there? And why did you not leav

LAUREN’S POV,When Elena walked out of the Black Stone Pack, I knew there would never be a better chance to take advantage of Julian. The Pack Alpha was weak, heartbroken, and vulnerable—ideal conditions for me to set my trap. Despite everything being right in front of him, he still struggled to understand what he had done wrong. This was classic Julian behavior. It was truly sad to witness that he remained the same person even after all these years, lacking emotional maturity and any signs of behavioral growth.Through some of my friends, I learned that he had been drinking a lot lately. He could often be seen in the local pub, drinking whiskey, or burying himself in work and brooding as if the world owed him an apology. Knowing him, I was not sure if he was devastated by Elena's absence or just putting on an act to gain sympathy from the pack members.Whatever it was, I didn't have enough time to care about it or him.One of those nights, when the pub was fairly empty and he was dru

ELENA’S POV,I was sprawled across my bed in the presidential palace, with a pen in my hand, as I went through the list Molly had given me.I decided to buy some new clothes for myself and asked Molly if she would like to go shopping with me. I remembered her complaining about the new stationery Ryan bought her. She declined because she and Ryan already had plans for the evening—pizza and Moana. She sounded excited for it, so I asked her to make a list of the things she wanted, and I could buy them for her.She thanked me and ran back to her room to make that list. Her handwriting had gotten better in the last few weeks. Before, she could hardly write; now her writing wasn't just readable, but also beautiful and proper. The words were big, round, and clean, as if every one of them had been drawn with care and patience. I didn’t realize I was faintly smiling until a knock on the door made me glance up.Ryan was standing under the doorway, staring at me with his intoxicating eyes. He wa

ELENA’S POV,“You simply never tried to notice or understand.”I thought we were done once I said that, and was ready to walk away from the pair of pathetic people. The emotional stress started showing a physical effect on my body, and while I was able to stand on my own, I wasn't sure how long I could. Every part of me was in pain, and there was this urge to cry out loud.“Will you ever be able to forgive me?” This time, it was Julian blocking me from leaving. His voice was quiet, almost trembling, as if saying the words took everything out of him. “Because I can never stop loving you, Elena.”I could see that Ryan was getting frustrated over the same conversation happening again and again. I also found it weird that reading Ryan's emotions came much easier to me than Julian's, even though we were still connected by the mate bond. And I felt like Ryan noticed it too because there was a spark in his eyes that wasn't there before.I didn’t know if the words coming out of his mouth were

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 48: STILL CARED

JULIAN’S POV,I hadn’t even reached the stairs before I saw Elena and Lauren on the footpath.I couldn't make out what was happening from the distance I was at, but all of a sudden, I saw Elena turning back to Lauren and her hand flying across Lauren’s face. The sound of the slap burst through the stillness like a firecracker, and for a moment, I just stood on the top of the staircase. It was impossible for me to believe that woman was my Elena. Ever since I'd known her, she had been soft and ladylike and had always carried herself with grace and dignity. There wasn't any grace or dignity in slapping others. What happened to my Luna in just a few days?As I started climbing down the stairs, I blamed the Alpha President for turning my wife into a monster. She wasn't capable of so much hatred; he was the one corrupting her thoughts with his venomous nature. Taking her away from him was the only way I could have protected her from becoming a true monster like him.“Don't worry, Elena, I'
