AURORA

Back at the palace, the gates flung open as the guards rushed inside with Damon’s unconscious body in their arms.

Blood soaked through his clothes, his face pale, jaw clenched even in unconsciousness.

“Make way for the Alpha!” one of the warriors barked, and the palace was thrown into chaos.

I ran beside them, clutching Damon’s hand, refusing to let go. It was warm, but not for long. My heart thundered in my chest, panic clawing at me as they burst into the chamber, where the pack doctors were already waiting.

“Wolfsbane… laced with deathroot,” the head doctor muttered grimly after a quick inspection, his face hardening.

“What does that mean?” I demanded.

“It’s a poison to werewolves, it’s lethal. Luna, please, we need you to wait outside.” he replied bluntly.

“No! I’m not going anywhere. I want to stay with him. He won’t dare leave me!” I snapped, clutching Damon’s hand tighter.

My voice cracked, tears pouring freely down my cheeks as I knelt by his side.
