Jacob's POV

I pressed my palms against the edge of the desk, leaning over as if it could hold back the storm inside me. My stomach twisted and my thoughts raced, making it impossible to stay still.

She clearly needed so much—after all, she came here with nothing but herself—but she was too hesitant to ask.

Had I really made her feel this uneasy? I gritted my teeth, cursing myself for rushing things, for not taking the time to make her feel safe before trying to claim her.

“Natalie, I’ve told you before, don’t be afraid of me. You’re my Luna; you can ask for anything you need,” I said softly, trying to put her at ease.

She seemed a little more relaxed, but I could still feel her hesitation. I rubbed my forehead, thinking hard about how to get through to her. I drummed my fingers on the table.

“Alright, come with me,” I said, standing up. Without waiting for her reply, I took her hand and gently guided her out of the chair, leading her out of the room.

I could tell she was probably shocked or confused, but she didn’t ask anything—she just kept walking, trying to keep up with my quick pace. I guided her into the passenger seat of my black Rolls-Royce and slid into the driver’s seat, starting the engine.

I was already blaming myself for not taking proper care of my mate, even after all the effort it took to get her. I hadn’t done enough to make Natalie happy. Anger flared inside me. I gripped the steering wheel tighter and pressed harder on the accelerator, making the car go faster.

"Jacob, slow down!" Dylan scolded. "You're going to make her nervous. Be gentle. She's our mate, not a servant."

The moment I saw Natalie's pale face, her hand gripping the seat tightly and her eyes squinting in fear, my stomach dropped. I hit my hand against the steering wheel, frustrated with myself. Why does my rough side always come out like this?

I eased off the gas pedal, letting the car slow down. I noticed her taking a deep breath, her hand pressed against her chest as she tried to calm herself.

I clenched and unclenched my fist, wanting to reach out and hold her hand… but I stopped myself.

"I'm sorry," I said quietly, keeping my eyes on the road. "I shouldn't have been driving so fast."

"It's fine..." she said, then hesitated before asking, "By the way, where are we going?"

Her question gave me a small sense of hope. Maybe today had helped us start building our relationship. I thought of a few ways to help her feel more comfortable.

With patience, she'd open up to me more.

"For a little shopping," I said.

"Shopping?" she repeated, surprised.

"Yes. You need a few things, right?" I glanced at her from the corner of my eye while keeping my eyes on the road.

"Are you saying… this is all for me?"

"Of course. Why would it be a problem?" I raised an eyebrow, a small smirk on my face as I caught her smile—the first real one I’d seen from her.

Oh wow, her smile was even more beautiful than I expected. Shopping really seems to be cheering her up.

"Nothing, it’s just… I’ve never really gone shopping before."

Her eyes flickered with a hint of sadness, and I realized how hard her life at Blue Moon must have been.

I could have sped up the car to vent my anger, but I held back. Doing something like that would only push her away. I bit my lower lip hard to calm myself down.

I promised myself I’d make sure she enjoyed today and made some happy memories.

I parked the car and led Natalie into the busy mall. Her eyes were wide, taking in the stores and the crowd. It reminded me of my younger days wandering through malls, and I wanted her to enjoy it just as much.

After wandering through a few shops, Natalie finally started opening up, pointing at the things she liked or didn’t like like a curious child. I just smiled, adoring her while holding her hand tightly.

"Jacob, look at all these stores!" she said, her voice full of awe. "I've never seen anything like this before!"

I chuckled, happy to see her excited. It felt like a small breakthrough. "Yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming at first," I said, gently guiding her toward a boutique. "But don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of time. You can look around as much as you want."

As soon as we stepped into the store, Natalie clinging to my arm, the staff gathered around, giving us a warm, respectful welcome.

"Welcome, Chairman," they said in unison, their voices ringing out. Natalie looked startled and squeezed my arm tighter, clearly nervous.

"Dismiss," I said firmly, gesturing for them to step back. I gave her hand a gentle squeeze to calm her. Seeing her nervous like that made me tense.

"Get the manager here," I said again, my voice firm, and led her to the private room I had reserved, wanting her shopping to be peaceful.

"What was that?" Natalie asked, her voice shaking slightly.

I guided her to the couch, sat beside her, and held her hand. "This mall is part of the Wood Group of Companies. After my father, I took over as chairman, since I’m the only heir."

"A billionaire CEO, just like in novels?" she asked, curious. I chuckled, shaking my head.

"Something like that."

"Wow…" she said quietly, clearly impressed. "I never knew this brand was yours."

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "You knew this brand? Have you been here before?" I asked softly.

"No, it’s my first time in a shopping mall," she explained. "But I’ve heard about it from other she-wolves in Blue Moon. They always talk about this brand, and most of them are fans—especially Fiona, Asher’s mistress. She always shows off her shopping from here.".

I noticed Natalie didn’t seem as sad anymore when talking about Blue Moon. Looks like the shopping was working as therapy.

"I circled my arm around her shoulder. 'Then that’s great,' I said.

I wanted to add that from now on she owned the brand, but I stopped myself—didn’t want to overwhelm her."

"Ma’am, would you like to see our latest collection?" the store manager asked.

Natalie looked at him, startled, then at me. I blinked at her and then turned to the manager. "Bring the ‘Vibgyor Autumn’ collection by designer Lumina that launched last week in Paris," I ordered.

A set of single-piece designer dresses was brought out neatly. I let Natalie choose what she liked, and I had to admit, she had excellent taste. I felt proud watching her pick.

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   The Bond and the Blessing

Natalie's POVIt's not the first time I've seen Jacob shirtless, but this time I can take a closer look at his muscled chest. He is looking unimaginably handsome under the moonlight.I traced my finger over his chest and felt the dampness below and with it felt the heart beating faster and faster. The heat in his eyes scalding when he pulled into his bare chest. I liked licking his nipples, but I made a mistake when I bit him. It aroused his beast.I flinched when he unhooked my bra and cupped my chest. He was no longer gentle. The way his mouth explores mine and his thumb pinching my hard nipples the pain and the pleasure meshes. I no longer feel strength in my knees.Jacob pulled back, releasing my breast making me feel pathetic in lack of his touch. He made me lay on the grass and himself started undoing his pants and that one minute felt like eternity making me writhing like fish without water. He is back, hovering over me, sinking his face at the crook of my neck."Ah," I gasped

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   Where Broken Meets Beautiful

Jacob’s POVThe night air was cool, carrying the normal smell of the forest. Natalie sat beside me, her hair moving with the breeze through the open window. She kept letting out small laughs as she looked outside, as if everything she saw surprised her.I checked my watch. “We’ll stop soon,” I told her. “Lunara said you need enough moonlight. Tonight is good for it.”She turned toward me, eyes full of honest curiosity. “We’re still in Crescent Moon territory?”“Yeah,” I said, and I couldn’t help the small smile tugging at my mouth as I watched her stare out the window. “My pack lands go far. Mountains, valleys, waterfalls… a lot of open space.”Her smile faded a little and changed into something softer.“I’ve never seen anything like this,” she said quietly. “Not in my whole life.”That hit me hard. Thinking of her growing up without freedom, without simple beauty, without anything, that angered me more than I could show. My grip tightened on the steering wheel. I wanted to drive back

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   The Anatomy of Scars

Natalie's POVFor a moment, we both stood still. The waterfall made a light sound in the background.Moonlight showed the scars on my skin clearly. I didn’t turn around. I had to speak before I lost the little courage I had.“This one…” I said quietly, touching the small scar near my neck with a trembling hand. “I was eight. I dropped a plate while setting the table. Linda said I needed to learn to be careful.”I let out a short, dry breath. “She pressed a broken piece of the plate against me herself. She said pain would make me steady.”Jacob didn’t say anything, but I could hear his breathing become uneven behind me.Taking a few deep breaths, I slowly moved my hand to another faint, crooked line above my waist. "This one…"My heart beat faster, but my voice still came out weak. "I got this because I ate before everyone else finished."I felt the silence behind me grow heavier, but I kept going.“I had been scrubbing the floors all morning. I hadn’t eaten in two days. There was a sm

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   Scars Beneath the Moonlight

Natalie's POVI wasn't supposed to interrupt, but I did mean to listen.I stood near the corner, close enough to hear clearly. Being what I am. Even without my wolf, my hearing is sharper than most.Every word Jacob spoke came through clearly. His voice was low and controlled. Austin’s was softer, cautious. I told myself I’d only listen for a moment but when I heard my name, I couldn’t move. I knew it was wrong, but I stayed still as stone, heart pounding, afraid to miss a word."She's barely standing. I won't corner her into something she's not ready for."Jacob’s voice was sharp, certain, protective. He could have forced me to complete the bond. I’ve seen Alphas do it without hesitation, thinking “mate” means “mine” and nothing else. But he didn’t. Even with his pack depending on him, even knowing his power is fractured…he still chose me. My pace. My comfort. And that… that warmed something in me I didn’t realise was still alive. That wasn’t weakness. That was strength. Something I

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   Bound by What Burns Within

Jacob’s POVRain tapped against the windows, a steady sound that didn’t feel right in a place meant for rest. I had only been gone for ten minutes. A call to the patrol leader, a check on the perimeter. But when I returned, the air in the room felt heavy.Fear. Sweat. Tension. It came off her in waves, sharp enough that my wolf stirred.“Natalie,” I murmured, moving fast, my hands already on her shoulders before I even thought. Her body jerked, trembling, lost somewhere deep, but when her eyes opened, they found me.She didn’t say anything. She only reached for me, weakly curling her fingers into my shirt. I pulled her close, slow and steady, until her breathing matched mine.I didn’t ask what she had dreamed. I didn’t need to. Blue Moon’s ghosts still reached for her at night. All I could do was hold her until they let go.My heart ached, but I held myself together. When her pulse finally calmed, I stayed there, listening to the rain. I should have burned that place to the ground l

  • The Alpha's Winning Bid   The Weight of Silence

Natalie's POV"Ahh—please! Don't hit me!" I cried, arms covering my face as the blows landed. The duster’s handle hit my shoulder, the sting burning through my thin dress.Madam Black shouted sharply, "How dare you eat before Asher? You brat! You even touched his textbooks! Do you think you deserve to study?"Each word hurt worse than the last."I'm sorry, mom!" I sobbed, stumbling back, hands shaking. "Please, I won’t do it again!""Don't call me 'mom!'" she screamed. "It's Madam Black to you!" She raised the duster again, but Sir Black’s hand grabbed her wrist mid-swing."That's enough, Linda," he said firmly, his voice tired. "She's just seven. You’ll hurt her at this rate."I dropped to my knees, holding his leg like it was my last hope. "Dad, please tell her I’m sorry! I’ll do all the chores! I’ll behave!"My hands trembled, tears rolling down on my cheeks. He looked at Luna Linda for a long moment, silent, something passing between them I couldn’t understand. Madam Black’s lip c
