CHAPTER FORTY NINE

Violet's pov

Everyone get out?

Frantic, I panicked as everyone began leaving the kitchen in haste.

"Xa--Xaden... Wh...at are you doing. Leave me alone!" I shouted, as he began ripping my uniform open.

From the corner of my eyes, I sighted Mira still standing by the door, her eyes wide open with her pupils locked in and bulging.

I continued struggling with him. He seemed like he was possessed by something. He was so different from the Xaden I knew. This wasn't him at all.

I cried out in alarm as my breast spilled out and his palm painfully twisted my nipples.

His eyes bounced and rolled. His usually golden eyes turned grey and the hair on his arm stood.

What was happening to him?

I placed my palm on his cheek and tapped him on the chin to jolt him from what had control of his body and emotion.

Gradually, his eyes began to return to normal. Finally realizing what he had almost done, he released his tight grip on me and set me aside so quickly and stormed out of the kitchen.

    Violet's povIt was already getting dark and I had to return to Mama. I don't want her worrying about me again. But Xaden's looming figure doesn't seem as though I would be leaving anytime soon. Besides, Hunter was nowhere in sight. He was here one minute, and in another, he was gone.Where was he?     Violet's pov"Who--who are you?" I stuttered."Oh, I see, he has not informed you about me." The man drawled, his voice a sweet blend of baritone."Who?" I asked."Never mind." He said. I eyed him wearily. "I mind." I answered, giving him a lopsided look. I nudged him to set me down, which he immediately did.There was something about him, which I can't place my fingers on. But it was obvious he was not the one with the dark presence since I couldn't feel it around him.I looked around for Shadow, who was huddled up in the corner of the path we were taking before the sudden scare. Shadow grunted so heavily I thought he'd pass out. Rushing to him, I said to the man. " Please get me water." He produced a wolf's skin from the bag he carried around his waist and stretched it to me. I cupped my hands and turned the water into it, as I nudged Shadows head to take a sip.
