“What?” I laughed. “What are you two talking about now?”

“I just heard something about keeping a child” Arlo said. “Didn't you Briar?”

“Well i suppose” Briar shrugged.

“Pretty fancy ears you've got there Arlo” I laughed. “Briar clearly didn't hear anything”

I was trying to make the situation look less awkward but i only worsened it. I could lie fine, but my expressions always said otherwise.

I just hoped dearly that they both really didn't hear anything we said.

“But you were really talking about a baby just now” Briar stated. “And why do you look so down Ivy, are you feeling sick again” he walked over to her.

“Oh. We were talking about an aunt of hers who passed. She thinks keeping the baby would be alot for her mom” I quickly said.

It seemed like a perfect cover up story, anyone would easily fall for it.

“Is that it?” Briar looked worried. “It's alright honey, everything will be fine” he held her close to himself.
