His Luna

RAYMOND'S  POV

I stepped into my chamber, the familiar sight of Evelyn at her favorite dresser greeting me. Her serene posture, however, contrasted sharply with the paleness of her face and the dark circles under her eyes. Despite this, her beauty still shone through like a ray of light in the darkness.

As I approached the dresser, I couldn't help but notice the scent of her body, unwashed and unkempt from her time away. But despite that, I yearned for her touch, her warmth, and the familiarity of her presence. I wrapped my arms around her from behind, pressing my cheek against hers and breathing in the scent of her hair.

"Evelyn," I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. "I've missed you so much."

She turned to face me then, her eyes meeting mine, and I was struck by the beauty that had always captivated me. The deep love I felt for her rushed to the surface, filling my heart with joy and relief that she was here with me again.

"I missed you too," she murmured, her hands running tenderly through my hair. "I thought I'd lost you forever."

As Evelyn's hands caressed my hair, I felt a strange emptiness. It was as if a vital piece was missing, a connection that had once been so strong now felt weak and uncertain. My wolf was strangely quiet, not reacting with the same joy and familiarity he'd shown with Aurora's presence.

I tried to push these unsettling thoughts to the back of my mind, convincing myself that it was just because of the time we had spent apart. But deep down, I couldn't help but wonder if my wolf was sensing something deeper, something that I was too afraid to acknowledge...

Holding Evelyn's hands, I stared into her eyes, my voice breaking with emotion. "What happened to you? I searched for you, and when I heard the news of your death, that your body had been burned, I was devastated. I mourned for days, thinking I could never recover from the pain.

"But now you're here, alive. What happened to you all these years? How did you survive?".

My heart ached as Evelyn's words pierced my soul, her tears mingling with her story of pain and horror. "Alpha Reginald...he's a monster. He kept me prisoner, and tortured me for days on end, all because I wouldn't betray our pack. I was left starving, wounded, and alone," she cried, her voice cracking with anguish.

My entire body quivered with rage, my hands balling into fists until I felt blood begin to seep from the pressure.

"How dare he?" I growled, my voice trembling with fury. "Alpha Reginald will pay for what he did to you, to us. I will not rest until I've razed his territory to the ground, and burned his pack to ashes. He will learn what it means to touch what is mine, to hurt my future Luna."

Evelyn moved closer, her hands clasping onto my face as she tried to calm me. "Please, my love. Reginald is a cruel and twisted man, but don't let him tear us apart. Our love is stronger than his hate."

As Evelyn's words washed over me, I felt a small sliver of the rage inside me begin to dissipate. Her touch was a reminder that despite the darkness of the world, we still had each other.

"You're right," I murmured, my voice still rough with anger but softer now. "Our love is stronger. And I promise you, Alpha Reginald will pay for what he did, but we will not let him destroy us. I will protect you, Evelyn, with my very life if I must.

Evelyn leaned closely to me and raced her hands calmly down my shoulder. "You don't have to beat yourself over that, I'm glad I'm back again in your arms," she uttered, her voice soft and calm.

As I gently ran my fingers through Evelyn's hair, a wave of turmoil washed over me as Ryan, my wolf, growled his displeasure in my mind. "What about Aurora? Our mate?" he snarled, sensing my inner conflict.

I glared at him in my mind, my inner turmoil growing with each passing moment. "Don't worry about that. I'll figure it out," I snapped back, trying to soothe my wolf's growing discontent. But the truth was, Ryan was right. My heart ached with every thought of Aurora, the mysterious girl whose presence had stirred something deep within me.

"How did you escape from Reginald's hands?" I questioned as I gazed expectantly at her, my eyes searching her every movement.

She looked spaced out for a while before muttering,

"It was very difficult but I knew I needed to take the chance," she began, her tone fearful and filled with uneasiness. "I had to make friends with one of the guards, he felt pity on me and when Alpha Reginald was on an important assignment with the neighboring alpha he let me off, I had to run straight to you," she added, and smiled at me.

I took pity on her after hearing her ordeal in the hands of Alpha Reginald, I hugged her and stated, "I'm glad you're back to me," I whispered and soothed her back in a comforting manner.

She held my hands and stated, her tone soft and calm. "I want to thank you Raymond, thank you for still loving me and holding me to your heart, I'm so happy," As she spoke, her eyes spoke in different volumes of emotion. "I'm glad of how everything played out, I'm back to you and your love has never wavered and I'm back to being your Luna again," she uttered, her eyes radiating with the possibility of taking back her position as my Luna since she was my fated mate.

My body was stiff and a sense of uneasiness washed over me as I listened to her speak, my heart pounded incessantly against my chest and I felt a lump plastered in my throat. I didn't know how to voice it out to her that I had a woman who was in my home and was soon to be the next Luna and also the mother of the heir to my throne. I knew she would be devastated and frustrated if I voiced the news to her and also considered her experience with Alpha Reginald and all the things she went through. I wouldn't want to break her any further and break her trust in me.

"You just have to tell her about Aurora and that she's carrying your child," Ryan my wolf countered, his voice deep and dripping with persistence. "No I can't do that," I mentioned back to him, my control kicking back in, he was nagging at me like a starved animal and I couldn't want him to take control and voiced out his displeasure to Evelyn that would be a total disaster.

"You have to tell her, what about your heir?" He thundered, his voice brimmed with snarl as he spoke. "I got this and I know what I'm doing," I growl at him and shut him out, he hissed at him and went back deep within my consciousness ignoring my foolishness.

I sighed deeply and stared at Evelyn whose eyes were laced with mine as she smiled broader awaiting my answer.

"You don't have to worry about that, just freshen up, then you eat and we'll spend the evening together," I uttered calmly and moved to leave the room.

"Okay Raymond, I'll be waiting for you," she said, smiling sweetly at me.

I nodded further and left her to herself.
