RAYMOND’S POV

I raced out of the little room, following the guards to where Evelyn probably was, “ Where is she?” I suddenly asked, my patience running thin as we finally approached the ward and I saw imperial guards standing at the front of the ward.

Quickly, I bypassed them and went forward to see her for myself, a gasp left my lips in surprise and I rushed towards her, my own hands holding hers to show how scared I was and before I knew it, I collapsed against her neck and started to weep.

I felt her body stir and managed to push myself from her, taking a look at her as I squeezed her fingers to show her that I was here for her.

“ Ray…mon…d?” she asked and I nodded.

“ I am here” I said, “ Don’t talk” I finished and I caught her smile.

“ I thought, I was never going to see you again. I couldn’t even feel you… where were you? What happened?” she asked me.

“ You were kidnapped by Reginald, you’ve been missing for months, I thought you died! We searched for you but you are home now and I am not letting you go. You are with me and I am yours”

The moment I let those words slip out of my lips, I heard someone scuffle away, I turned my neck to see dark long hair leaving my eye range and knew who it was.

‘Shit’ -- I thought, while Ryan was quiet.

“ Why don’t you rest up? I will check up on you later” I said and kissed her hand.

‘ Something doesn’t smell right with Evelyn, ‘ Ryan said

“ You mean our mate?” I say and he snarled.

“ Aurora is our mate now, Evelyn doesn’t smell like Evelyn,”and I ignored him.

‘ What are you going to do with our mate? She is with our child.’ he asked and I still ignored him while I followed her scent and found myself right back at the little room I had just saved her earlier.

“ What is going to happen with me?” she immediately asked me, her back turned against me while I watched her shoulders shake.

“ What do you mean?” I asked her genuinely surprised by her question.

“ I am pregnant with your child, how are we going to do this? “ she asked and I frowned.

“ I think its obvious?” I say, walking towards a chair and sitting down while she turned around in confusion.

“ I don’t understand?” she asked and I scoffed.

“ Evelyn is back, I have my fated mate back. That is that and don’t worry your debt has been paid and I can talk to my father” I said and I could see emotions run through her in minutes.

“ Is there a problem? You would be taken care of, you will give birth to my child , I am sure I can make sure Evelyn takes care of him… you don’t have to worry” I said and she scoffed.

“ You want me to give birth to your child and you don’t want me to be his mother?” she asked me and I lay silent.

“ Did you forget what your father asked of me? “ she asked me and I stood up, a sudden irritation coming out of nowhere.

“ He said, you would make me yours and then I would give birth to your child while you made me Luna. That was the agreement, that was what we planned to do and now, Evelyn is back and suddenly you are OK with doing only one of those things, you marked me remember? I am yours” she said and a headache started to build.

“ You will give birth to the child and you will be taken care of, for an omega that is more than fair. You cannot be my Luna, you are an omega” I said in annoyance and she scoffed.

“ I wasn’t an omega when you were marking me, ramming into me for two straight weeks” she spat and I looked at her in annoyance.

“ You threw yourself at me, what did you want me to do? I was trying to help you and your down-wash family and now I am the bad person?” I asked her and her hands came close to my face but I caught her hands in mine and flung it away.

“ You said I was yours!” she started to cry.

“ Well, now you’re not. You should be happy, I am helping you and your wretched family to have more to eat, give birth to the child and you won’t lack, what is your problem? Haven’t I helped you enough? You wanted me to mark you, you wanted a child and now you have gotten all of it but you can’t be my Luna and you can’t be mine anymore. The moment you give birth to my son, I will have the seers severe the connection and you can go your merry way.” I said

“ You are an omega, its just how things are supposed to be done, don’t take it personal,” she started to sob profusely

“ I thought we were going to be together, I thought you loved me?” she asked and I frowned deeply.

“ In what universe did you think that?” I asked her and she crumbled to the floor.

I didn’t know what else to say to her other than what I said, I left her crumpled on the floor while Ryan snarled at me.

‘ What did you do that for!?’ he asked and I ignored him while I went back to Evelyn's quarters, while looking for a way to escape Ryan and his constant nagging, an idea occurred to me and I was overwhelmed with so much joy that I ordered for a party to be thrown to celebrate her return.

While the party was ongoing, I started to realize that Aurora was nowhere to be seen and something felt missing, I didn’t think I was getting worried until I found myself leaving the party to go towards her quarters when a guard ran towards me.

“Sire! “ he shouted and started to pant while a frown descended on my face.

“ Speak up!” I said in annoyance and when he kept panting, I attempted to evade him when he sprang up, halting me in my steps, his eyes holding panic.

“Aurora is gone!”

Horror struck me and my eyes widened in shock.
