Lydia Richmond's POV

I had a lot of emotions all over now. I was hurt about what Kayla said last. She made me sound like a mean and heartless person. Definitely, I would be challenging her for this.

“What do you mean? If you knew it would work against the maids, why didn't you tell me in the first place? Why did you propose that I do it?” I shouted at her angrily. This was so annoying. If she had told me earlier, I would have stopped the mission. I could dislike Beatrice but I wouldn't kill her. Also, I will do nothing that will endanger the lives of the maids. They were innocent souls.

“I thought your mind was made. I didn't want to be a stumbling block!” Kayla defended herself. She sounded so dumb right now and this made me more angry.

I raised my hand but I couldn't bring myself to slap her. It wasn't her fault but mine. I should have never took action based on what she told me. Now, she had taught me lessons that I would remember for ages.
