Chapter 70

The Council Trial

/-Tediora-/

“Rhys did this to you?” Zeke blurted in disbelief. I knew exactly what he was thinking. Rhys and I were very close so he was definitely the last person that should have hurt me.

So I quickly added, “He did it to help me.”

Zeke gave me this weird look like I'd lost my mind. He didn't know my secret so it was expected of him to think that.

“So, tell me. How exactly did breaking your knee help you?” He inquired and I merely laughed it off.

“You don't have to worry about that. You wouldn't believe me anyways,” I snorted. He opened his mouth to argue but for some reason he decided against it.

“How's it now? Does it still hurt?” He asked and I shook my head.

“It wouldn't dare. Not when Dominic has been caring for it like a mother hen,” I joked and he chuckled.

“Dominic has always been a big softie. I guess I'm not surprised by that. You should get as much rest as you can.”

“How was training? Anything new?” I asked him.

“Nothing particularly

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   An enemy

Chapter 77An Enemy/-Tediora-/A couple of days passed after that and I could finally return to my room. I was just about to enter when Theodore showed up.“Hey you,” he smiled. “Hey,” I returned his smile, wondering what he wanted this time. “I heard you had a very serious leg injury. Is your leg doing okay now?” He asked. I was surprised by the question. I couldn't tell if he was actually being nice or if he was just trying to weigh how much of a threat I was now. “I'm fine now,” I told him. “I will be back to training in no time.”There was no shift in his expression or anything that suggested he was unhappy with the news. “It's good to have you back. Will you be joining me for lunch later?” He asked. Right, he sits all by himself before everyone is too scared of him. He must feel very lonely sometimes. I doubted he had any friends here in the academy. “I suppose I can,” I shrugged. I had no interest in befriending him but keeping him company wasn't such a bad idea either. Be

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   A shocking apology

Chapter 76A shocking apology /-Tediora-/My leg was already better and I could manage to move around. Dominic was peeling some oranges for me while Zeke sat on the couch reading a book. Rhys was beside me as usual, casually touching me. Dominic's eyes lingered on Rhys movements but he didn't comment on it. “Do you want more?” He asked, handing me the third orange. “You can try the bananas too. They are equally good.”“Okay,” I smiled and he patted my hair fondly. “Are you still feeling pain?” He asked me. “Only a little,” I answered. After what went down between Zeke, Rhys and me yesterday, I used magic to aid with Ava's healing capacity. It worked so fast that I almost cursed myself making assumptions instead of actually trying earlier. “You've asked her that question a hundred times, Dominic,” Rhys rolled his eyes. “I want talking to you,” Dominic shot him an annoyed look. “What? You should at least act like he's your bodyguard, not your little brother!” Rhys retorted. “I

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   Two Hands Are Better Than One

Chapter 75Two Hands Are Better Than One/-Tediora-/Ava was excited at the prospect of being sandwiched between two hotties. “Get a grip, you shameless whore, Zeke hasn't even moved,” I scolded her in my mind and she snorted.Rhys picked me up and moved me further into the bed until I was lying in the middle. He gently spread my legs apart. I was already feeling hot inside but having Zeke watch set my skin ablaze. A part of me wanted to see how long he was going to hold out before joining us. “Don't move, or you're going to hurt your leg,” he warned. A part of me wondered if I could just use magic to make it numb so I could fully enjoy the contact. I decided to give it a try but just as I raised my hand, Rhys caught it. “Don't.” “Why?” I asked, a little puzzled.“A little bit of pain is good sometimes,” he shrugged with that coy smile. I forgot how sadistic this jerk is. I could have just ignored him but for some reason, I listened to him, knowing fully well I was going to regr

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   Keeping You safe

Chapter 74Keeping you safe/-Tediora-/Zeke looked between Rhys and I like we've both lost our minds. My gaze however was on Rhys. I was shocked that he had found out both my secrets without even trying. And not only that, he didn't even care about it. “You're scary, you know that right?” I blurted. “Is there something else you know about me that I don't know about myself?” His lips curled in a half-smirk. “Well, if you want, I can show you. There's so much you don't know.” I pushed him away before he could get any closer. “Can you get your damn mind out of the gutter? I'm being serious!” “Well, Rhys is more perceptive than most people so don't be surprised he knows things like this. He was also the first to discover that Mariel was hybrid. Things like this are his specialty,” Zeke told me. My face dropped. “And where I thought I was doing a good job hiding all of it. Imagine he was an enemy, I would have lost my life before I even realized why.” “Don't be too hard on yourself

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   A shocking reveal

Chapter 73A shocking reveal /-Tediora-/My eyes widened as he spoke. I understood it was coming from a place of love but I didn't really want to leave. “Zeke…” I started but he sat beside me and took my hand. “I understand you, Alvin but you really need to leave. If you are discovered, you could die. I can't watch another person I care about die in front of me,” he said and my throat went dry. “So you… you care about me?” It was a very risky question and it sent my heart racing wildly but I wanted to know his answer. I really wanted to. “Yes,” he admitted in a heartbeat. “I care about you a lot, Alvin,” he admitted and my heart fluttered. “Which is why I want you to leave…”“I can't…” I slowly retrieved my hand from him. “I know that you mean well, Zeke and you have my best interest at heart but I really can't leave MoonCrest until I have fulfilled my purpose of being here.”He ran a hand through his hair. He was clearly frustrated with me and I honestly didn't blame me but this

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   The request

Chapter 72His Request /-Tediora-/Several seconds passed but I couldn't speak. What was I even going to say?The crest was on mark that you couldn't hide, not with physical products like powders and tattoos because it was magic itself and easily absorbed anything foreign. The only way to hide it was with magic and I had been doing that since I got here. Until the broken leg, of course. For Ava's healing abilities to work faster, I needed to repress my magic.I didn't think twice before doing that because I didn't think anyone would just randomly lift my shirt, especially since I was in Dominic's room. “You haven't answered my question!” He stated and I tensed up. “Why do you have that mark?” I contemplated what to do. Should I use magic and wipe his memories? Absolutely not, not in my current state. “It's a… tattoo,” I lied. “I kind of really fancied it and…”“Are you playing me for a fool right now?” Zeke fired and I flinched. I have never heard him sound so angry. “That crest
