After what seemed like hours but was only about 30 minutes I left Lilly’s room. Entering our bedroom, I found Ursala already picking up the shattered porcelain from the side table lamp, “Reggie did a good job in strength training with her,” she chuckled.

My hand ran through my hair, “spare me your commentary,” I pushed the large armoire back against the wall, “she was fighting for her life, there’s no humor in that.”

“I wasn’t being funny or trying to make light of what she perceived as a threat to her wellbeing, but you have to admit she stood her ground for a few minutes with Reggie and Michael.”

I turned to look at her, she was serious, “that just proved how strong she truly is, but I’m sure Michael will tell her she failed by being taken so quickly.”

Picking up the duvet, I threw it into the dirty linen basket, Ursala gave me a quizzical look and I shrugged, “Michaels’ scent is on it, it’s not covering my mate again.”
