Four Months Later…

“Still not awake yet?” my dad asked, sitting behind his desk in his office at the packhouse.

I had just gotten home from the hospital to shower and change when he called for me to come to his office to talk. I knew what he wanted. He had been pressuring me more and more over the last few weeks, and I’ve been avoiding him like the plague, spending more and more time with Chloe, hoping what little bond we had would help her to wake up.
