Annabella

Gretchen knows me probably as well as I know myself. She has been watching me curiously all morning. She knows something went terribly wrong between me and Alpha George. I haven't seen her since I was drug away yesterday. When I was finally released, I ran as fast as I could to omegas' quarters and locked myself inside my bedroom.

My eyes are still bloodshot and puffy from the hours I spent pacing the floor and crying. I haven't had a wink of sleep. My hands are visibly shaky, and my stomach is in knots. It isn't helping that word of my 'examination' has obviously spread through the pack. Every Warrior who I have served breakfast to was looking at me as if he wanted me on his plate instead of the eggs.

Daisy has been growling protectly at them over me, but it hasn't seemed to fase them one bit. I have never been so heartsick and depressed in my entire life. I feel like my soul has been crushed. That's exactly how Alpha George had intended to make me feel. He thinks if he can break my spirit, I won't fight him when the time comes. He is probably right.

I feel like I can finally breathe again as the dining room starts to empty. Gretchen and I begin right away, clearing the dishes from the empty tables so we can start washing them. When it is finally just down to the 2 of us, she takes the dirty plates from my hands and tosses them back to the table top. She levels me with a knowing gaze. I can't stop the wavy of emotions that take over me.

"What the hell did Alpha George do to you last night?" She asked me in a hushed voice in case anyone was still in earshot.

Hot tears began to flow from my eyes again. I opened my mouth, but I had no voice for a long moment. "Gretchen, it was so horrible." I finally managed to get out. "He made doctor Baskins examine me in his bedroom in front of his warriors."

"Examine you?" She exclaims. "For what?" She asked as if she wasn't sure she wanted the answer.

I wasn't sure if I could speak the words. I took a deep breath. "To see if I am still a virgin!" I blurted out then paused on a sob. "Before he starts the auction for me, he said he didn't want to be accused of false advertisement."

Gretchen let out a horrifed gasp. "Oh, Annabella, I am so sorry he did that to you! That's what all the men were groping over you?"

I could only shake my head at her as I covered my mouth with my hand to keep from crying out. She put her hands on my shoulders to try to comfort me. She now had tears in her own eyes.

"He had no right to do that to you." She said angerly. "He could have at least taken you to the hospital."

"The worst is now I know our Alpha is planning on selling me. What about my father? There will be no one to take care of him once I am gone." I was now crying so hard I could barely form my words.

Beta James, my escort to hell last night, appears in the doorway. I gasped in shock by his sudden presence. I wonder if he overheard us. He grins at us wickedly. "I was sent by the Alpha to watch over you." He announces to me. "I suggest you don't give me no trouble."

I glare at him. My hurt and shame suddenly turned to rage. I clinched my hands into fists at my sides. Gretchen blocks my movement with her arm as I try to lunge at him. "I haven't done anything." I shout at him instead.

He ingores my outburst. "Don't you have work to do?" He asks, sitting himself down at a table.

Wesly We get Maggie's things from the garage and up the stairs. As we entered the bedroom, the memories of finding Charlie attacking Bella and the way I responded to her afterward hit me hard. The last time I'd been in here was the night I hauled Bella out of the bathroom. 'The attack wasn't your fault.' Kota reminds me. 'And you were a different man then.' We drop the bags and quickly exit. Lee and I turn toward my bedroom. I can feel Jake's desire to go in with us, but he and Rafe turned in the other direction and headed downstairs instead. I tell him we will sit down together after Bella's nap. Jake hasn't said it, but I know he is captivated by Maggie. I think they would make a good match. 'Don't say anything to Jake,' Kota tells me. 'Because Rafe hasn't, he thinks she might be their mate.' 'Tell Rafe, good luck.' I returned. I wasn't sure about the mate thing, but I already knew my friend had his hands full. The three girls are piled on the bed with Jordan in the middl

Annabella "Can I hold him?" Maggie asked Cindy about Jordan. Who already had me settle on the bed and instructed me to put my feet up. "Sure," Cindy says, handing the pup to Maggie. Maggie's eyes lit up with Jordan in her arms. I couldn't wait to see her as a mother. I never thought I would have such an opportunity. "You're a natural, sis," I tell her. I wasn't sure what I said to upset her, but tears welled in her eyes. "Maggie, what's wrong?" I asked her quietly. "I won't ever be a mother." She said sadly. I opened my mouth to question her further when Wesly, Lee, and Jake burst through the door, loaded down. I couldn't miss that Jake's eyes immediately went to Maggie with a smile. Nor the fact that she promptly frowned at him before turning her back, almost as if she was protecting Jordan from him. I thought I did see a slight blush cross her cheeks, but, it was gone quickly. Wesly comes over to the bed, feathers his hand across my forehead, and kisses my face. "How

Jake Lee, Cindy, Jordan, and I are waiting at the garage when the SUV pulls down the drive. I am glad to see Wesly. It was ok being the Alpha for a while, but I was ready for a vacation. I had picked up on the stress in his voice the last few times we've talked. I can't help but assume his aggravation is because of Bella's sister. He did say she was strung out on meth when they found her. Nevertheless, she is family, I am sure Wesly feels the same. Of course, he would deal with the devil himself for his Luna. The car comes to a stop. Cindy hands Jordan off to Lee and steps beside the passenger door, waiting for Bella. Wesly had linked and told us to go easy on her. I could hardly believe Stone had shot her. Technically, I suppose he was trying to kill my Alpha instead. It was good that he was already dead. It would save me some trouble. Bella got out fairly easily and embraced Cindy in a hug. Then she moved to the back door. "There's someone I want you all to meet." She says to

Wesly "Everything looks great." Layla is telling Bella as she gets dressed in the exam room. "Cat is doing a wonderful job helping heal you. It won't be long before you can shift. Give it a few more days." She paused a moment. "There's just one more thing I want to discuss with you both. Follow me to my office." We fall in behind Layla, and she leads us down the corridor. We take seats across from each other. "Is there something wrong, Layla?" I asked her, taking Bella's hand into mine. "No, nothing is wrong." She paused, looking between us. "Have you changed your mind about having pups right away?" "No," Bella and I both say. She nodded her head. "William and I discovered birth control pills aren't effective in our wolves when they mate." She chuckled, opening a drawer and pulling out a small white box. "Wayde was the result. I can give you a diaphragm and some spermicide." She tells Bella, demonstrating with a model on her desk. "you would insert them into your vagina bef

Wesly I would be blind not to see the daggers Harper is shooting at me from across the table. I am sure of why I have been sneaking away for more dance lessons with her while Bella has been catching up with Maggie. She hasn't let me forget our deal, and she knows we are leaving today. Finally, I gave up the holdout. "Bella has a birthday next week," I announced. "We would like very much to have you all there." Harper smiled widely. The table went silent, all eyes fixed on me. "You want us to come to your pack?" My mother asked in disbelief. "Very much," I said with reverence. "The best thing I learned from Paps is that life is too short to hold onto anything holding you down." "Well said, brother," Harper said. "We wouldn't miss it!" We were all surprised to see Maggie peek her head around the corner, until now she hasn't left her room. "Maggie," Bella called to her, and we scooted down a chair so she could sit. "It is nice to see you, Ms. Maggie," my mother told her. "

  • The Alphas Prize Blood Mate   ~Chapter-125~Ready to go!~

Wesly Kota has told me for the past couple of days that he ain't liking this situation with Bella's sister at all. Though she has been cordial since Bella's ultimatum, she also makes it evident she still does not trust me behind a dime, turned sideways. I suppose if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't either. If she only knew some of the things I have done to her sister. My wolf, always on guard, is concerned that Maggie will eventually plant seeds of mistrust of us in Bella, especially since her wolf has begun to show signs of resurfacing, and Maggie and Bella have been spending more and more time together. The way I see it, that could never happen, either way it doesn't matter, a party of three will be heading back to Born Moon in the morning. Our bags are already backed and loaded in the SUV. We barely had enough room for it all. My sisters were kind enough to hook Maggie up with a complete wardrobe. Bella has an early appointment with Layla for one more ready-to-travel check-up
