~Marcellus~
Father had scolded me right after I left appeared before his eyes.
"Do you know what your action today cost me?"
I lowered my head and nodded solemnly. "I'm sorry I disrespected you, but I had a pressing need I had to attend to."
"What need could be more important than a duel the whole pack has been looking forward too? Or did brother realize he was going to lose and called a truce?"
It was no one else than the evil saint in person of my half-brother, Maverick. His voice is a great thorn in my flesh and each time, I wish I can put an end to him.
"You should know when to speak and when not to! Or do you not realize you're disrespecting father?!" I yelled, snapping my head to the direction of his voice.
The man stood silently beside my father, grinning wickedly at me.
"If you two bicker here, you're disrespecting me more!"
His words seemed to calm the growing tension between us as Maverick looked away.
Although I couldn't meet father's eyes, I roamed my eyes around the room as I replied half-heartedly. "I'm sorry, father."
He probably had nothing else to say as he waved his hands and dismissed me. When I got to my hut, I found a rather unwanted visitor in it. Maverick's mother and one of the many people who wishes me death.
I took off my jacket and draped it around my bamboo chair as I asked. "Luna Celeste, to what do I owe this unpleasant visit?"
"A bastard son who is supposed to be out of my home and pack dares to ask me what I am doing in a territory that's clearly mine. Tell me, Marcellus, don't you feel ashamed saying that?" She asked with contempt.
"If you're upset about me or anything related to me being in your presence, you can only have your mate to blame. After all, he did see you before he committed fornication with someone that wasn't his mate. You were probably not eye-catching enough for him..."
The next thing I felt was pain and the woman having a dagger pressed to my neck, a demonic look in her eyes.
"You dare say that again and I'll make you never get to say a word again!"
I tilted my head to a side as I weighed the pros and cons. Not only will my father punish me for hitting his mate, Maverick will also do something bad and evil to me. Just like he has always done.
" Okay, Luna, let go of me first. An Intruder might mistake our position for something more." I grinned.
She immediately let go, but flung the dagger beside my head. I sighed. "Go find something better to do."
"We both know your mother was the mate stealer. She clearly had her own mate, but chose to frolick around someone else's mate because she knew he was an Alpha. And besides, your father was a beast."
Immediately she dropped the words, she walked back to pick up the dagger and walked out of the room.
My night was already ruined and I needed a place to cool off, so I grabbed my drawing book and headed to a small lake, my favourite lake.
As I held my pencil, the picture of the girl in a mask flashed past my eyes. So I bent my head and I drew everything I remained.
"What are you drawing?" I heard a cheerful voice beside me.
When I raised my head, I found out it was Willow... My mate. For reasons best known to him, my wolf, Adonis, refused to acknowledge her, but would always come on alert when a different girl passed by.
"Just something I caught sight of yesterday. You." I replied with my head lowered.
"Oh" I heard her say before she sat down beside me. "In the arena yesterday, you were really good. I'm sorry for my appearance which made you lose focus and, thus, I got hit by Maverick."
I glanced up at her without saying anything. Yesterday, after I had left with Cage, she approached me and said I was her mate.
I didn't want to disappoint her as I felt no attraction towards her, but the faint smell of my mate made me believe her. I probably don't feel it yet, but I will, if I spend more time with her.
"What? What is it?" She asked shyly, pushing her hair backwards. All this while, I didn't realize we were just a breathe away.
My lips were about to meet hers when I heard Adonis' voice.
"Mate!"
I got up instantly and dropped the drawing book in my hand. I glanced down at Willow whom I assumed must be startled.
"I have something to settle. Let's meet again later."
I first stopped when my feet touched something hard. I bent and picked the lunch box up.
"She was here! Our mate was here and if I'm not wrong, she should be the owner of that lunch box." Adonis said again.
I holstered the lunch box to my waist before following the trace of an appealing smell. Soon, I came upon some pawprints.
"Look who we have here!" It came from a man who I never thought I'd see again.
A dozen of black Werewolves surrounded a white and blue Werewolf. My eyes constricted when I realized she was my mate.
"Little she-wolf, you don't need to put on any resistance and we won't hurt you. If you come with us quietly, there'd be no reason for anyone to get hurt." A man with white long hair, said, his silver eyes sparking with excitement.
"She's a member of my pack. I don't think it's a good idea to covet what's mine." I said, coming out from my hiding place.
The shock I saw in his eyes couldn't be erased before he laughed coldly. "Don't be so quick to claim something that hasn't been decided yet. You were so cowardly enough to run out of the duel and propose a truce because you knew you'd surely lose. So tell me, why do you have the confidence to say she belongs to your pack?"
"As you said, the winner of the duel hasn't been announced yet, when it is, we'll see. For now, I will advice you go home now, Diego." I replied, walking towards her.
Diego chuckled, a wicked smile gracing his lips. "If you say so, friend. Don't forget, tomorrow is the duel and don't be coward enough to propose a truce again."
After that, Diego turned and walked into the other side of the woods, along with his men following him.
Despite Adonis' need to reunite with his mate, I ignored him and looked down on Ashley. "They're gone. You can transform back."
She did nothing, but look up at me. At that moment, I heard Willow's voice behind me. "If you ask me, I'll say you should've put an end to him once and for all."
I turned to see her walking towards me with my drawing book. When she caught my eyes, she raised the book and said, "You forgot this, I thought I should return it. However, I smelt you and followed you here."
"Okay." I replied and looked towards the girl my wolf called mate to see she was walking away. However, she was hopping. "If you don't mind, I can help you."
"No, don't worry. You go prepare for your duel tomorrow. I'll help her home." Willow butted in.
I had no choice than to nod my head. After taking a glance at Willow and my mate again, I turned and walked away.
~Ashley~Willow took my hand and led me out a little farther from the spot I was attacked, then she let go of me. Now, I laid naked on the sand as I hadn't gotten to where I left my clothes. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but I want you to stop coming around Marcellus. Marcellus is my mate and I will not condone someone like you going close to him." She said with an evil smile. It was cold outside, and because I had used up my strength when I let Kiara be in charge, I nodded weakly. "You answer with your tongue when you talk to me. However, I can tear it out of your mouth and render you mute so you can nod your head whenever you are asked a question." She grinned. I looked down at the sandy ground and supported my weight with my hands. "I've heard you, Willow. I promise you, it won't happen again." I could see Willow was not ready to relent. She glanced around and walked up to me, then she squatted and drew closer to my left ear. "Ashley, I don't care if you're his rea
~Ashley~I woke up because of the chirping of birds. It was a pleasant morning as the golden sun rays suggested, but recalling the last thing that happened before I fell unconscious, I got up immediately. I looked beside me to see the dry bones beside me. His skin had gone thin and clung to his bones so tightly that it was difficult to tell them apart. I felt nauseous remembering I had rendered him in such a condition by draining him of his blood. I staggered to the river bank and instantly drew water up with my hands. I splashed it multiple times on my face before I breathed out in relief. My eyes soon narrowed down to the water which reflected my face. A spotless face. Without any scar on it! Minutes of staring emotionlessly into the water didn't help, my face still remained the same. I was prompted to splash mud on my face when I heard hurried footsteps coming from the forest. I felt a hard hand press down on my shoulder then I was thrown backwards. I landed on my back and w
I guess my nagging took Cassie by surprise. It also caught the attention of the other wolves. Then I heard the girl who had brought the news say, "Omegas might be low in rank, but they are still considered better than those without any rank. Talk more of an ugly, terribly scarred, duckling." "You—" The word slipped out of Cassie's tongue before I could stop her. Surprised at my defiant look, Cassie snorted and lowered her head angrily. I turned to look at the girl and smirked amidst the mud which had stiffened my face. "Omegas like you only know how to look down on the pack members. If we don't give you the fear you want, that makes you like us." I had a lot of things in my head so I didn't bother to listen to whatever she had to say or the surprised gasp that rang out of everyone's lips. I walked into the house and slammed the door shut. When I got to my room, I picked up my mask and headed to the bathroom, taking with me a small, rough mirror. I once again confirmed I was beau
I heard Cage move from where he stood to my front. Then he squatted to my kneeling height. "You were the only one we saw there, are you sure you saw nothing?" Once again, I shook my head. "I really didn't." "That's okay, you can raise your head now." I heard Maverick say and obliged by looking up slowly. I evaded everyone's eyes and stared towards the air. I saw Cage nod his head at Jerry who walked forward with a necklace. He held it thinly and dangled the pendant. "Isn't this yours?" I looked down on my chest to notice the crescent pendant which often hung on my neck was nowhere to be found. "I must've lost it when I was running." I replied. Jerry breathed out and turned to Cage. "I found this right beside the body of Omega George." That was when it hit me! It must've fallen off when I went unconscious. "You better not be lying because—" Jerry was interrupted with the abrupt presence of Marcellus. He entered the room like he owned the place. How could I forget, he really d
~Willow~I waited anxiously in my room for night to cover. If there really was a vampire beside the river, it could be my only chance to make father happy. I was distracted when I heard a knock on my door. So I got up and walked towards it, when I opened it, I came in contact with a servant. "The Alpha's eldest son asks for you to meet him beside the lake." She delivered, bowed slightly and walked away. Marcellus wants to see me? The thought of it made my wolf excited. Without wasting another second, I slipped out of my room and headed towards the lake. When I got there, I found him seated on his usual spot, his drawing book in his hands and his attention solely on whatever he was sketching under the moonlight. However, he closed the book as soon as I got closer to him and got up. We stared at each other in silence before I decided to break it. "You asked for me." He breathed out and walked towards me. I could hear his soft breathing and the urge to be marked by him overwhelmed
~Ashley~I woke up due to the voices in my head. "Blaine, Kiara, can you two lower your voices? I'm trying to sleep here!" Kiara quietened but as the demon that she was, Blaine didn't want to. "Come on, there's no need to be harsh on the little wolf." "Who do you think you're referring to as little!" Kiara rebuffed, getting ready for another squabble. The same one which woke me. Just when I was about to caution them, the door to my room swung open and Cage walked in. "Good morning and sorry for entering in such a rash way. Your presence is needed at the meeting room." He said as he walked towards me. "Ever since I got into this house, I've lost my right as a pack member as most of them now think I killed one of my kind." I said as I got up from the wooden bed. "We didn't really blame you, we just hoped you had seen what happened. But I don't think you're needed again because another killing transpired last night." He smiled and looked towards the door. "Let's move along while
I jerked up as soon as I heard approaching footsteps. When I looked towards the door, I saw mother standing with a bucket of cold water in her right hand. She smirked seeing I was awake. "I was beginning to think you won't wake up." I didn't reply her as I struggled to get up from the bed. When I passed her by, I grabbed the bucket in her hand forcefully, "Permit me to use this in washing my face." I walked out with it and returned back when I was done. She already changed positions, sitting on the wooden chair. "If you have anything to say to me. Say it!" I scoffed, dumping the bucket beside the chair. "There are different news flying about. Some say you tried seducing Marcellus and others say you killed Omega George. As your mother, I'm caught between crossroads at which to believe." Then she turned to look at me and asked seriously, "Don't you think you should tell me what it is you've been doing ever since you turned 18?" "I don't need to tell you what I've been doing. As you
~Ashley~The sound of children playing outside made me open my eyes slowly. I held my banging head and sat up. I looked around and noticed I was in my room. When I looked outside, I noticed it was morning. Jerking up, I rushed to the window dumbstruck at how I got there. Other than that, I had no memory of what happened with me and Rebecca. As I thought hard on what happened, Cassie's face soon appeared in my view. The look in her eyes wasn't something new to me. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it last night." I apologized. Cassie just stared at me, her expression changing from anger to shock. "What is it?" I asked apprehensively. "Y-our sc-ar. It's gone!" Oh no!Whatever happened, I just found myself scaling through the window and jumping over to her room. I held her head and narrowed my eyes down to hers. "I've been taking something which has been clearing it. If you want it, I can lend it to you." She had a blank look on her face before she slowly nodded. I nodded as well and s
