Chapter Four

I was relieved once we reached the safety of our little efficiency apartment. After entering and locking the dead bolt behind me. I threw myself down onto the small love seat. Istantly images of Mr. Smells good assaulted my mind. To say he was sinfully handsome was an understatement. He was very tall around 6 foot 3. With the kind of broad shoulders, a girl would love to lay her head on. His muscular chest and arms had been straining against his shirt, leaving no doubt he was powerful.

His face was that of a Greek God finely chiseled in all the right ways. His dark hair was nearly black, but not quite it laid in silky waves around his face . His well-groomed mustache and beard were the same dark color. His eyes were sensual pools of caramel with just a hint of blue. And oooohhh, his lips were full and lush begging to be kissed........the sound of my phone ringing brought me out of my trance. I looked down to see my brothers handsome face. I swipped to the right and answered it on the third ring.

"Hey, big sister." Leo said.

"Hey, little brother." I returned.

"Just wanted to check in on you it's been a while. How are you?"

"I know I have just been busy. I am ok."

"Dad has been asking about you. He and mother are worried, too."

"I have been meaning to call him. I just haven't."

Leo knew that was a touchy subject, so he changed it quickly. "So what's new?"

"I found my mate!" I blurted out. Leo and I have never kept secrets from one another.

"Wow, that's great. Where did you find him?"

"Strip club."

"Mandalynn Hope!" He exclaimed.

I couldn't help but laugh at his use of my full name. "Calm down Leo you know me better than that. I was following a lead the Oracle gave me."

"And?!" He asked after a moment of silence.

"I didn't find out anything. I am going to have to go back. I got distracted by the whole mate thing."

"Spill who is he?"

"I don't know he tried to abduct me so I froze their bitch asses and got away."

"They?" He asked suspicious.

"Yea, I assume it was his Beta and Gamma they actually thought they could man handle me."

" I don't like this Hope, it's bad enough that you're hunting down witch hunters on your on. Now you have an aggressive Alpha hunting you?"

"Leo, you know I can take care of myself, and what would you do if it was Helena who had been murdered?"

The line went silent he didn't have an answer to that. " Just be careful, please, and know that you can always call me, and I will be there for you. I love you, "

"I know, and I love you too. You will be the first to know when I have any information on either front. I promise."

" And please call your father. Just let him know that you are still breathing. He's driving me crazy."

" I will, but I promised Miana I will take her for a run tonight. So I need to feed my pussy and wash my ass."

"Eeewwww! Too much information, Hope! Can I tell Father he should be expecting to hear from you?"

"Yes, you can tell him. I just hate having the same argument with him. He doesn't seem to understand she was my mother. I just can't let it stand!"

I hung up the phone and put a bowl of food down for Heather, rubbing her back and scratching her chin before stripping my clothes and quickly heading for the bathroom. I wanted to shower and appease Miana before the thought of Mr. Smells good came back.
