Chapter Four

“Hey baby” someone said pressing a forehead kiss to Arya’s forehead while Arya closed her eyes and allowed herself to relish the sparks that coursed through their body in that spilt second. She then turned to face the boy who had his arms wrapped around her shoulders.

“Where have you been?” she asked repeating the question she had asked before. The blonde haired boy tapped on her nose before wearing a smile that never failed to make Arya turn into a puddle of butterflies.

“I had to run a few errands” he replied eliciting furrowed brows from Arya.

“And you wouldn’t pick my calls?” Arya asked a frown etched to her face while the boy burst into laughter.

“C’mon baby. I left my phone in the car so I didn’t see your calls. Why do you think I rushed down here?” he asked as Arya folded her arms shaking of his arms off her shoulders.

“What kind of errands would make you leave your phone in the car,” Arya asked.

“Anyone could have called, your mom or your Dad or someone important. Don’t tell me you are helping those druggies run errands?” Arya asked her eyes narrowed while the boy burst into laughter again.

“I promised you I wouldn’t hang out with them no more alright. Trust me a little bit more will you?” he asked in reply and Arya unconsciously dropped her arms wearing a relaxed face.

“I’m just watching out for you, I don’t want to see you get involved with those suckers. They are dangerous” Arya replied making her boyfriend bend over and laugh again.

“Dangerous than vampires and werewolves?” he asked watching as Arya furrowed her brows.

“Those don’t exist. Why are you saying that though?” Arya asked.

“I and the boys saw this movie sometimes ago about them and it was a really nice watch. We should go and watch it though” he replied while Arya nodded her head.

“Excited about the School trip?” Arya asked her eyes twinkling while he nodded at her tapping her nose in the process.

“Wait a minute for me; I’ll get something to eat” He said pushing himself to his feet while he walked away. Arya shook her head with a smile while returning to her food.

If there was anyone luckier than her in the entire universe; Arya doubted if they were up to ten. The very best of the very best parents, the best of the very best, best friend and overall a handsome and cute boyfriend who loved her to death. They had been dating for almost two years and in those two years; Brad had been nothing but a sweetheart.

He had always been there for her, he bought her cute, random fancy stuffs, always encouraged her to do the best, was always with her whenever that shitty monthly period showed up, an overall he was the best boyfriend anyone could ask for. Not to mention that the fact that virtually every girl in school wanted to date him and be his girlfriend.

“What are you thinking about that’s making you smile so much?” Eileen asked seating down while folding her arms. Arya turned to her and furrowed her brows slightly.

“I thought you were going to get more food” Arya pointed out and Eileen nodded her head.

“Yeah but Daniel dragged me along the way so I just ended up finishing the food on his table” Eileen replied watching as Arya’s lips curved into crescents.

“I refuse to believe that you and Daniel have a platonic relationship” Arya aid wriggling her eyebrows while Eileen burst into laughter.

“I want to think that we are two good friends. I and Daniel?” Eileen started pausing midway before swallowing her saliva.

“We are never happening” Eileen finished making Arya pout at her.

“How can you be so sure?” Arya asked picking up the hamburger on her tray and pinching into it. Eileen shrugged her shoulders lightly.

“Why can’t I be so sure?” Eileen asked in reply as Arya swallowed the last lump of vegetable in her mouth.

“Have you guys spoken about it before?” Eileen asked before shaking her head.

“I mean, you and Daniel are so close. You do a lot of things together and virtually everything together. There must be something” Arya added carefully watching Eileen’s expression in case the latter was lying to her but Eileen stoic face didn’t waiver in the least.

“There’s nothing Arya. I and Daniel are just very good friends. Like you and I. The only difference is that you and I are best friends” Eileen replied putting a smile on Arya’s lips.

“Yeah. We are the best of friends” Arya declared after her biting into her hamburger again. She had known Eileen since they were in diapers and they basically grew up together. Eileen’s parents knew her parents and vice versa. There had always been this kind of bond that Arya had felt towards Eileen, like they were meant to be and Arya would have believed that if only she believed in fairy tales and magic.

She and Eileen had managed to be best friends for the seventeen years of their lives being each other’s backbone and in her entire life after her parents, Eileen was the one that Arya was the most grateful for. The girl’s incessant support and love, she had always enjoyed it. Having someone like Eileen as a best friend was a privilege that Arya wholly enjoyed and being at Eileen’s back was something she liked doing as well.

“So you ready for the school trip?” Arya asked with excitement in her eyes and Eileen’s lips blossomed into a smile while nodding her head.

“Why not? I wonder why we are going up mountains though” Eileen asked and Arya chuckled.

“I don’t know why either but I’m pretty much excited about it. I’ve never gone mountain climbing in my entire life. I think I will be able to tick that off before my eighteenth birthday” Arya replied excitedly while Eileen nodded her head, a small smile on her lips.

She suddenly raised her head and her eyes collided with another pair of familiar pair of eyes upstairs. The other person looked shaken but didn’t do anything except bow his head lightly and walk away. Eileen sighed while rubbing her forehead, she picked her phone and typed something on her phone before dropping it on the table.

“What’s with that face? What’s wrong?” Arya asked dusting her palms together.

“Nothing. I’m just tired. After all; I didn’t sleep overnight” Eileen replied yawing.

“Serves you right for choosing to play games with Daniel all night long” Arya said checking her wristwatch and then looking around.

“I thought Brad said he just wanted to get some food. Where is he?” Arya asked picking up her phone. Her eyes continued to search the cafeteria for her boyfriend but not even his shadow could be seen.

“Oh, the basketball players are no longer here. I think they have practice of some sort” Arya concluded while dropping her phone.

“He must have gone for practice” Arya said pouting her lips.

“I don’t think he’ll pick my call if I call him” Arya added with Eileen nodding her head after her with a hard look in her eyes.

“I don’t think so too” Eileen said agreeing with her.

“Let’s go” she said rising to her feet with Arya following in her actions.

“He should have told me he was going before leaving. He’s such an ass” Arya complained quietly while Eileen draped her school bag over her shoulders pretending not to hear the words that Arya was whispering underneath her breadth.

“We don’t we go to the rooftop and let you have some sleep before Ethics class?” Arya suggested and Eileen nodded her head.

“Oh my sweetheart, that’s so sweet of you” Eileen cooed rushing and engulfing Arya in a hug and dropping kisses on her face while Arya burst into laughter.

“Let’s go. We have barley an hour to Ethnics class” Arya said dragging Eileen with her as they walked up the staircase.

“Maybe while you sleeping, I’ll read some books online too” Arya said pushing the door open and stepped on the rooftop.

“W*****d?” Eileen asked throwing her school bag to a side while rushing to the bed sling she and Arya had made before.

“Where else?” Arya asked in reply also settling herself down in one of the chairs.

The rooftop was supposed to be a public place but no one came there since they considered it old fashioned so Arya and Eileen had turned to their secret place. After taking lunch or when they had free periods during classes; they always came there to relax. The place had been turned from a dusty open space to a clean, warm and slightly girlish rooftop. They had placed chairs, a sling bed and a small TV there. A fridge containing snack was also there. They had all their essentials there.

Eileen yawned while turning in the sling bed; “Wake me up when its time” she muttered while Arya also relaxed in her chair.

“Yes your highness” Arya replied and there was a minute of silence before the both of them burst into laughter.
