My screams attracted the neighbors and soon a lot of them were standing in my yard. The emergency squad also arrived a few minutes later. Their flashlights everywhere as they checked the surrounding areas for the end of the trail.

Turns out it wasn't just a puddle of blood. There was a long trail leading to an unknown destination. My elderly neighbor Luana has wrapped me in a thick blanket while the men searched the area.

"I'll need to speak to you madam" he said to me and I nodded trying to stand up but Luana held me back.

"She's shaken up. Can't you see that"

"It won't take any of your time. I just need to ask a few questions concerning the incident"

"You..."

"It's okay Luana. I'll talk to him. Maybe I can be of help"

He smiled at me and I followed him to a corner, tightening the blanket around my body.

"This must have been a lot for you tonight but we have to know what happened"

"I understand" he was ready with a jotter and a pen.

"I've been at home since the early afternoon but I took a nap until this evening. I ordered for pizza and it was delivered. Just as I was eating it, I heard a sound outside. I thought it was someone knocking on the door so I ignored it"

"Why? Is there someone you didn't want to see?"

I nodded. "An ex"

"May I ask why?"

"He.... We broke up and he wasn't taking it well. I thought he had come to plead his case so I didn't open the door. But then I heard the sound again, this time it was louder. I called when I heard a scream. I was still waiting when I heard the sound of a car. I thought it may have been you guys and so I came outside. I saw a car driving away and then I stepped on the blood. I screamed and the neighbors came out. You showed up right after that"

He nodded and wrote on his notepad.

"Did you see the license number?" I shook my head.

"I didn't. It was too dark. I saw the blood after I stepped into it" he nodded and wrote something down.

"Are there any cameras around here that we could get footage from?"

I shook my head. "I don't know. We'll have to ask estate management" our estate was overly safe and secure. Most of the streets didn't have cameras because of how safe it was.

"I'll need a number to call so that I can speak to them"

"I don't have one but the security at the estate entrance could be of help" he nodded and wrote that down.

"Bladgen. Check the door for any evidence. Finger print or blood stains. She said she heard a noise on the door" he shouted and I watched a beefy looking man go to my door.

"Did something happen? Did someone get hurt?"

"We can't say yet. There's no body. I'm thinking of a possibility that someone was trying to scare you"

"Scare me? Why would anyone do that?"

"I don't know ma'am. Here is my number. Call me if you hear anything tonight and I'll suggest you don't spend the night alone"

"Is there something I should know about?"

He shook his head. "Just to be safe ma'am. We've gotten the evidence we need and everything will be cleaned up. I'll get back to you if there is any news" with a nod, he left.

"Are you just going to leave like that?"

"Yes" he said without looking back. The man he had called Bladgen passed by glaring at me angrily.

I frowned as I watched them leave. It felt like something was going on but they didn't want to tell me about it.

"Are you okay child?" I jumped at the sudden touch but relaxed when I saw it was Luana.

"Yes. You should return you your home now and go to bed. It's quite late"

"I'm not sleepy and you're definitely shaken up because of what happened. I can stay longer if you wish"

"No" I said quickly and she frowned. Luana was like my second mother. Always doting and caring but she needed to go to bed and I didn't want to bother her.

"Are you sure?" She asked again.

"Yes. Go to bed"

"Okay child. I'll see you tomorrow" she kissed my cheeks and returned to her home. I was alone in the yard now and I hurried inside. I remembered what the man had said about not spending the night alone. I considered calling Imogen but I decided against it. She was probably asleep now and I'll only be bothering her.

I sat in my couch and watched movies throughout the night with the lights on. The night dragged by and I fell asleep for a short while before I heard my phone ringing.

I swiped without looking.

"Hello"

"How are you doing girl?"

"Fine. Why are you calling so early?"

"Let's have lunch break together"

"Okay"

"See you then" I hung up and left the phone on the couch and got ready to go out.

The trek to the office building felt like forever. Someone bumped into me from behind and my bag fell to the floor. I dropped to my knees to pick up the things that fell out.

Whoever hit me didn't stop to apologize.

"Rude" I muttered as I glared at the back of his well ironed suit. I turned back to check if I had missed anything. I spotted another man behind me, leaning against a wall. He was dressed in a black suit like the man who had bumped into me earlier. I looked around and spotted another man.

Was I being followed? Was it the men from the emergency team yesterday or did it have anything to do with the blood in my front yard?

Feeling uneasy. I quickly grabbed my bag rushing towards the building while constantly looking behind me to make sure nobody was following me.

I was going to call the number on that paper before I returned home today. Something was definitely wrong and I could feel it.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I finally got to the building and entered inside. Behind the protection of the one way glass, I looked outside to check for any of those men dressed in black suits.

Like I suspected, there was a man dressed in black suit and he was looking straight at me.

I knew he couldn't see me but why did it feel like he could?

As I finished up from teaching and the last pup was picked up, I made my way to the pack house. My baby girl was staying with her father today. Over the course of two years, many things had changed. My heart especially and that is why I'm trying to pick up my daughter without running into her father. “Arcelia?” Landon was the first person I saw as I arrived at the pack house. “I'm surprised to see you here”“I finished early so I decided to pick her up myself”“Come on in. She's with the alpha. They should be in his office.”“No,” I said quickly and he raised a brow at me. “Okay” I can bring her downstairs to you” I smiled at him. “I'll appreciate that” he chuckled and we entered inside. While I waited downstairs, he went upstairs to get Imogen for me. Yes, I named her in honor of my best friend. The thought of her demise didn't hurt me so much anymore. Like I said, my heart had changed and I let go of resentment which means I have forgiven those who had killed her. Two years is a

ALPHA TEIGEN's POV"Everything is going smoothly," Landon said as he entered my office."I know. I spoke to Viviana""How are you feeling?" I chuckled at the question. He was the first person to ask me this. Not that I was looking for sympathy or pity but it kind of felt good to know that he was concerned."I've seen better days. I'll be fine. I just want her to be okay""And Miyanda, do you honestly not want to see her anymore? She's still your sister"Of course, someday I'll look at Miyanda and I'll not feel like tearing her apart. But it wasn't today. Not anytime soon."She's sorry""Yes. Her apology can magically change the past""Don't you think it's a bit hypocritical? You want Arcelia's forgiveness but you won't forgive Miyanda""It's her fault we're in this situation. I acted out of foolishness but it was because I thought Miyanda had been murdered. She had no reason to do what she did""I get. But she's not responsible for your actions""She contributed to it. I'm not trying

Firstly, I didn't think Alpha Teigen would easily agree to me moving out of the pack house. But then I had to use the situation to my advantage. The house was ready two days after I made the request and I was already moving in. Viviana and a few guards were helping me.They were constantly communicating with the alpha but he didn't show himself which was perfect. The last of the things were set up and I thanked them for their effort."I'll go and get some groceries to make some food. Will you be okay by yourself?"I nodded. She was constantly worrying about me. That was why I didn't want to tell her anything about my suspicions. The constant vomiting, nausea, and the rest were symptoms of something I didn't want to believe was true. Not at this time. It would only make things more messy.I took a shower and changed into lighter clothes. The house was wonderful, well-furnished, and somewhat similar to my old apartment.Since I was staying here permanently, I needed to find a job. It wo

ALPHA TEIGEN's POVI drank the remaining contents of the cup and poured myself another. This wasn't the solution to the current problems but there was nothing I could do.Regret clawed at my heart. More than the anger I was feeling. She wouldn't talk to me or open her door for anyone. I could still hear sounds inside that is why I haven't broken down the door.Alfio entered my office with a grim look on his face."She opened her door" my eyes snapped up."Viviana is with her now. But I doubt she'll want to see anyone at the moment""I just want to know that she's okay""Will she truly be? I can only imagine what is going through her head right now. I knew there was something off about the whole case in the first place. It makes sense now"I should have listened to Alfio but I let my foolish anger consume me. "I'm a fucking fool""Dwelling on the past will do nothing for you now. You have to think of a way to make things better. To earn her forgiveness" "She said she'll never forgiv

I felt weak in my knees. If I was standing, I would have fallen over. "What the fuck Miyanda?" Alfio was screaming. I've never seen him upset like this. Someone else shouted something. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry" Miyanda cried. I gripped the material of my dress tightly in my fingers. It cannot be. Everything..."Do you know what you've done? For fucks sake Miyanda. I thought they murdered you. Do you know what I've done since I started receiving those parts?" Teigen yelled at his sister. "I didn't think you'll take it that far""You didn't think? You know me. You know how angry I get. You used that to your advantage. You wanted me to torture them" he continued yelling and I just sat there, my head spinning while I still tried to wrap my head around everything. She faked her death? It was laughable. I had to resist the urge to not laugh out loud at the madness. She fucking faked her death. "Why did you bother to show up" Alfio screamed. "You should have remained dead. Do you know the

I don't understand. What... how was she here? I rubbed my eyes because I started to feel I was hallucinating. Maybe one of those dreams that I usually had. It could be stress. Or maybe this person has a similar face to that woman. Was she a twin? I shook my head, getting rid of those thoughts. It couldn't be. I may have only seen her once but I remembered her face correctly. She was real..... and alive."Miyanda" someone brushed past me and I saw alpha Teigen hugging her tightly and checking her."You're alive... how?""I'm so sorry" she sobbed tearfully. I was rooted to the floor, confused as fuck, and watching her."What are you sorry about Miyanda? What happened tell me" he led her to one of the empty chairs."You're okay. Where have you been""Alpha" Aldrid bathed in."We tracked the human to the pack house"What human I wondered?"Find whoever it is and...""It was me that went past border patrol," Miyanda said and everybody faced her again."You're alive" Aldrid mumbled, experi

"I don't understand why you feel the need to work" Viviana grumbled at me. "Isn't it better than sitting idle?""I understand you don't want to be idle but scrubbing the floors?""Do you have a better job for me""Sitting around pretty all day. It's not like you get paid for this""I still want to do it. How is it going with the children?""Alfio's cure seems to be working. He's not such a pain in the ass anymore""That is good for you. Very good" she mumbled. "Alfio was proposing that the alpha allow some people to go to your world and learn from you but the alpha was against it" I snorted. It would be beneficial to the pack but he only likes to do things that he wants. He doesn't care about the opinion of others or if they get hurt or...hold up Arcelia. We're going off track. "Well did he say why he was against it""Mhmmm. It's a solid reason and before you say I always support him, I'm not doing that right now. His reason is completely logical. Alpha Teigen's povA week after our huge argument and I only felt worse than I did before that. It was wrong of me to bring her mother into the situation. I had not been thinking properly and she had every reason to be upset with me. I just wasn't thinking."Alpha" Landon called me and I looked up at him."What's wrong?""You've been unhappy and I know it's not my place but you're hurting yourself.""Landon. Report on official matters and leave my personal life alone""He's just being difficult Alfio said""What's the situation with the children""The rashes disappeared from two children, we have four more new cases now""I thought we were isolating the affected?""Yes. The children didn't get it from them which leads me to believe that bodily contact is not the cause of the spread. There is something else. Maybe a place only children visit. "Are you going to tell me why you were here yesterday, bawling your eyes out""It's nothing, Viviana""Are you sure?" "Landon was here after you slept off. He looked worried. Did something happen with the alpha" I scoffed. "Does it matter? He'll always be right to you""Arcelia?""Just forget about it. I was foolish. It was my mistake""Things were going so well. I just don't understand it""I don't either but it's probably for the best this way" I've learned my lesson and I won't be making the same mistake twice. When I went out finally, the stares were too much. I could imagine what was going through their heads. I arrived to grab the supplies but someone blocked my path. "What's wrong? We have strict instructions not to let you clean anymore""Why?" I was bewildered. "I don't know. Alpha's orders. You have to see him to answer any question you might have" I groaned and moved away. Was he going to take everything away from me? Everything I enjoyed? I didn't want to see him. I di
