Chapter 7

"You know your stuff after all. I'm surprised you're familiar with the soul revival technique," Sebastian remarked with a chuckle.

"I came across records of it in an ancient text by accident, Dr. Ballard. I never thought I'd get to witness it in person today. Please take me as your student, Dr. Ballard!" Jonah said once more.

Feeling helpless, Sebastian had no choice but to agree. "Don't tell anyone else I'm your mentor, understood?"

"Yes, of course. I understand," Jonah said respectfully as he stood beside Sebastian.

At that moment, Levi came forward. His mannerisms were respectful as he expressed, "Thank you for saving my father, Dr. Ballard. From today onward, we, the Griffins, will forever be indebted to you!

"If you ever need anything, just say the word, and we'll do anything within our means to get it done!"

"You don't need to be so courteous with me, Mr. Griffin. It wasn't a big deal," Sebastian said.

"But, I do need your help with something. The Griffins are business magnates with businesses scattered all over the country. I know that your family is involved in the pharmaceutical field as well. I'd like you to help me procure a few medicinal herbs."

Levi swiftly declared, "Of course, Dr. Ballard. Just tell me what you need. As long as it's available, we'll get it for you!"

Sebastian listed out the medicinal herbs he needed.

Levi frowned. Many of the names were new to him, but even so, he agreed to find them for Sebastian.

Still, Sebastian did not place much hope on Levi procuring them even though he did need them for a special purpose.

Since being ordinary was a fault in Whitney's eyes, Sebastian wanted to let her witness how the man she considered as insignificant as a speck of dust became someone far out of her league!

Five minutes later, Oliver regained consciousness. Some color had returned to his complexion.

Naturally, Levi kept Sebastian for a meal.

Jonah was too embarrassed to stick around, so he quickly left the residence.

As soon as he walked out the door, he received a call.

"Hello, Dr. Pike. I'm the secretary of Frostwave Corporation's CEO, Ms. Sutton. We sincerely extend an offer for you to join our corporation and become our most honored consultant doctor," Mabel said with the utmost respect.

It was her seventh time calling Jonah.

If Jonah, Steinberg's genius doctor, joined Frostwave Corporation, the company could then use the news to promote itself. It would be enough for the company to gain a lot of recognition in Steinberg.

Furthermore, Jonah was a highly skilled doctor who was proficient in the pharmaceutical field as well. If he joined the company, he would be a great asset that could contribute greatly to the company's future growth.

Alas, Jonah declined once more. "Please stop calling me, Ms. Lucero. I've decided to retreat from society and focus on my research to hone my medical skills."

"Dr. Pike, feel free to tell us what you want. We'll do our best to fulfill your request," Mabel frantically added.

"That won't be necessary. Just today, I learned that there are always more talented people out there. My medical knowledge is far from being sufficient." Jonah sighed.

Frowning, Mabel probed, "What happened, Dr. Pike? It sounds like you met someone who's even more skilled in medicine than you are."

"Words can't describe his medical expertise! Just that Goldcrow pill of his is something that I'll never be able to create myself," Jonah declared. Thinking about it now, he still felt just as excited as ever.

"Goldcrow pill? What's that?" Mabel asked in shock. The name sounded so familiar to her.

"It's a kind of medicine that can treat all illnesses. It's a priceless treasure!" Jonah exclaimed, but belatedly realizing he had said too much, he swiftly ended the call.

Mabel frowned and mumbled, "Goldcrow pill? A medicine that treats all illnesses?"

She abruptly recalled the scene that took place earlier!

Sebastian had the Goldcrow pill! If even Jonah marveled at its potency, it had to be an incredibly valuable medicine!

"That bastard! He's been hiding this up his sleeves! This won't do. The formula for the Goldcrow pill has to belong to Frostwave Corporation!" Mabel declared coldly.

She sent Jonah a text, and after getting more information, she rushed over to the residence that the Griffin family had bought in Steinberg.

Sebastian exited the residence with Rosalie behind him. She continued to thank him profusely.

All of a sudden, a red Mercedes-Benz raced down the road and came to an abrupt halt beside them.

Mabel got out of the car and walked over to them with an icy expression.

"Sebastian, you bastard!" she snarled. "I see how it is. You've been hiding your mistress from Ms. Sutton and me! Well, out of respect for Ms. Sutton, our company is willing to buy the formula for your Goldcrow pill for 100 thousand dollars!"

She brought out the money she had withdrawn before coming over.

Sebastian frowned. He disliked Mabel's attitude. She was only nice when she needed something from someone and would even degrade them when she did not.

"I don't understand what you're saying, Ms. Lucero," Sebastian retorted coolly.

Mabel crossed her arms and snorted, "Cut the crap, Sebastian. Don't bother pretending. Didn't you just use your Goldcrow pill to treat someone? Well, on behalf of Frostwave Corporation, I'm now offering to buy the formula from you. How about it?"

Frowning in displeasure, Sebastian asked, "Did Whitney send you?"

"Don't use your narrow-minded judgment on me. This has nothing to do with Ms. Sutton. I came over on my own accord," Mabel said disdainfully.

"Is that so?" Sebastian sneered. "If the company wants the formula, sure. Let Whitney come and ask me for it in person! Who do you think you are? What makes you qualified to negotiate with me?"
