CHAPTER 4

AFTER I RETURNED home, the guards immediately opened the gate for me so I honked my car as a thank you.

Manang Puring will return home tomorrow. We also need someone to be with us at home because Cyrille and I are here alone here in our mansion. Now that I have a job and Cyrille is studying, I really need someone to take care of my youngest sister.

"Sister!" Cyrille shouted then ran to me and hugged me.

I hugged her tight and looked at her before I spoke, "How is your new school?" I asked.

She smiled at me and uttered happily, “I have made many friends! I felt excited and nervous at the same time. It's exciting because of the subjects I really liked and it's nerve-wracking because there are times when I stutter when the professors ask me to introduce myself." She stated.

She really changed a lot. The old Cyrille I knew when we were kids is coming back: talkative, mischievous, and most of all tender. Things I really like about her.

“Is that so? It's great that you've made new friends. Have you eaten?" I asked her.

She shook her head a few times before speaking, "I was waiting for you, Sister. I cooked porridge. Let's eat." She said while smiling then pulled me into the dining room.

I can't help but admire Cyrille. When we were young, she loved to cook. That only stopped after she was diagnosed with Bipolar 1. She used to cook and read books before she was being diagnosed with Bipolar 1. If she's sweet to her loved ones now, she was sweeter before. We were best friends.

“Really? I miss your cooking, Cyrille!” I said excitedly.

"It only happens once, so make the most of it!" She snorted.

We also spent a few minutes eating and talking before she offered to wash the dishes we used.

“Oh! It's me, Cy. As usual, right? Whoever cooks will not wash the cutleries." I said then winked at her.

Sh frowned and moved the table, then put the plates we used in the sink. Since we were kids, we are used to not having our parents by our side. After all, we are more used to having Nanny Puring with us. I often used to say that I'm jealous with my other friends because they could eat with their parents at the dinner table.

After I finished washing, Cyrille and I went up to our own rooms together. I kissed her on her cheek and we said goodbye to each other before going to our rooms.

When I lay down on my bed, my cellphone rang just in time, causing me to look at the screen—Shamae. I quickly answered it and she immediately spoke.

"Hello, Celine! The next day is Leo's birthday. Just so you know, Doc Emman is invited. Since it's my brother's birthday, I'm inviting you to join the party too! What can you say?!” She said, I almost didn't understand what she was saying.

I smiled widely and screamed without a voice because of what she said. "Of course!! I'll join the party!” I said excitedly.

Why would I refuse when my friend is already giving me the opportunity to be with Doc Emman, right?

Ever since I saw Doc Emman, I can't get him out of my mind. I have heard him before from my sister Cyrille. At first, I didn't care about him because I didn't know him yet, but when he visited the Hospital where I used to work, that's when I started liking him.

"Alright! I'll see you on that day.” After that, I quickly ended the call.

I really can't believe it! I will be able to see and talk to Doc Emman again! After thinking a lot of scenarios on what will happen that day, I immediately did all the things that I needed to do then I decided to sleep.

I woke up when I heard the alarm clock rang. I immediately stood up and did what I needed to do. After that, I went in front of Cyrille's room to check her.

When I got to her room, I knocked before opening the door. But when I opened it, I didn't see Cyrille.

I went down to the dining room and breathed a sigh of relief when I saw her talking to Nanny Puring while they were both laughing.

"Sister!" Cyrille shouted causing me to kiss her on her forehead when I finally got close to her.

"I thought you would come in the afternoon, Nanny?" I uttered then wrapped my arms on Cyrille's shoulder.

"Oh hey, I thought I was coming in the afternoon too, didn't I? Fortunately, your mother was able to send me the money early so I was able to get out," Nanny Puring said.

Nanny Puring is from Batangas. She has served our family for a long time. In fact, she is like a Grandma to me....no, she is really my grandmother because of the time she served our family.

After we finished talking, we immediately said goodbye to Nanny Puring along with the other maids who had just arrived. Cyrille's supposed driver has arrived but she insisted that I will be the one to drive her to their school today.

"Sister, Leo's birthday is tomorrow. Can I buy some clothes to use?” Cyrille asked me.

Cyrille and Leo are friends. They were classmates before. Leo is in his 4th year while Cyrille is in her 2nd year because she stopped studying for a few years because of her case.

"Sure! I was about to order mine also. Do you want me to order you too since I will also be attending Leo's birthday tomorrow?" I said with a smile while my eyes were focused on the road.

"Okay, Sister. Thank you!” Cy uttered.

A few minutes passed before we finally arrived in front of Cyrille's school. I immediately said goodbye to her then kissed her on her cheek before she went down.

I immediately drove the car after taking Cyrille to her school. Since it was still early, I went down to the convenience store to buy my drink. I don't like coffee because I often get palpitations. I was about to take my drink but suddenly, I saw a Pocari, reason for me to take it to give to Doc Emman.

I happily went to the counter then hurriedly paid for my purchases. "Three hundred and fifty pesos, Ma'am." The cashier said.

I immediately took my card and gave it to the cashier for her to swipe. After I paid, I immediately got into the car and drove happily.

Right after I arrived at the Hospital, I immediately went to the door of Doc Emman's clinic. I was about to open the door but I heard someone talking on my side which is the hallway.

"Kristine, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel that. There's really nothing happened between us. I swear.”

I couldn't listen to Doc Kristine's voice. Since I didn't bother to listen anymore, I immediately opened the door of the clinic then promptly sat down in my seat.

My face is thick enough to hope that he will like me back too.

The clinic hours have started that's why I was being distracted by talking to the queries of the patients and their guardians. I just drank the Pocari that I was supposed to give to Doc Emman then focused my attention to my work.
