Chapter 11

The woman’s payment for Alruna’s services sparked immediate disapproval. Whispers and pointed glances zipped around Alruna; the villagers were clearly judging her for charging for her help. The air crackled with unspoken accusations.

One of Alruna’s fellow villagers, a stout woman named Mila, stepped forward, her voice ringing out to cut through the murmurs. “What are you all saying? Alruna didn’t even state a price! She never does when she helps people. And that cream she gave that child? You could buy that on the market for at least four silver coins!”

Alruna, however, waved a dismissive hand, silencing Mila. The gesture was both weary and regal, a subtle command to let the matter drop. “Let them be,” she said, her voice calm but firm.

The mother of the patient child, her face etched with relief and gratitude, quickly intervened, silencing the whispers. “She didn’t ask for payment,” she insisted, her voice ringing with genuine sincerity.

Chapter 15Curtis watched his wife and daughter help him hang his clothes behind the barracks."For some reason, I can't help but be cautious of the Third Prince. He was extremely calm and organized, it's suspicious," Ryull said. Skoll told his friend not to overthink."Do you know that the Second Prince should be at the border now? The Third Prince showed interest in this mission, and four days after the Second Prince was decided to be brought here, the Second Prince suddenly had an accident," Ryull whispered. Skoll looked at his friend and said it might just be a coincidence.Curtis stepped closer to Alruna, who was struggling to lift a thick quilt to hang it. From behind Alruna, Curtis reached for both sides of the quilt and lifted it. Alruna looked up and smiled sweetly."Thank you."Alruna raised both hands, reached behind Curtis's head, and tiptoed. She lightly kissed him on the lips and then suddenly ran off.Curtis blinked, Ryull and Skoll whistled, and laughed."I understand

Chapter 14“Curtis, are you still there?” I called out softly, hiding behind a large rock while drying myself off with a white towel. No answer.I cautiously stood up, peeking around to see if Curtis was nearby.“He didn’t leave me here, right?” I whispered to myself.I froze when Curtis suddenly appeared from the other side of the rock and quickly covered my mouth with his hand.I stumbled back, sitting on the rock behind me, staring up at Curtis—who was now half-naked, his skin still wet, and the scent of soap and shampoo lingering in the air.“Curtis? Are you here? Have you seen Skoll and the others? They’re on duty at the camp today,” someone from the other side of the river calling, breaking the silence.“Check Eris’s barracks. Maybe those two are hanging out there,” he replied, still looking out at the river.I found myself staring at him. The thin dress I wore clung to my skin, and I was sure it left very little exposed on my skin.Curtis finally turned to look at me. His eyes

Chapter 13When they arrived at the border, it was already night. Alruna stood at the entrance of the carriage, wrapping her arms around Curtis's neck as she waited for him to help her down.Curtis lifted her gently and set her down. He then took Corea, who was being held by Eris."Your brothers is sleeping; don’t disturb them," Lunette scolded the triplets while carrying the youngest child, Castiel. Alruna called out to the three to stop bothering Lunette and her brothers. They all headed toward the camp, where numerous barracks greeted them. Curtis led his family to his own barrack."Sorry if it's dirty and messy," Curtis said, handing Corea to Eris. He began picking up the clothes scattered around. He hadn’t had time to wash or clean because of his missions.Alruna took hold of Curtis's arm. Curtis looked at her while hugging the clothes he had gathered."I'll clean up. You go outside with the kids and get our things from the carriage," Alruna insisted. Before Curtis could respond,

Chapter 12"Killed those women!" he roared, but Alruna wasn't finished. With a swift, precise movement, she sliced off his ear, leaving it dangling grotesquely from his cheek. The bandit screamed in agony, "Aahhh! Release them!" The sheer brutality of Alruna’s actions left everyone speechless. The women scrambled for cover behind Curtis and his men, the Third Prince’s soldiers providing a protective shield. The bandit leader, tears streaming down his face, whimpered, calling Alruna a demon. He ordered his men to unleash a volley of arrows at Alruna, but before they could act, a black wolf, a blur of motion, leaped towards her. Alruna, with incredible agility, grabbed onto the wolf's neck, using its momentum to launch herself to safety. The battle erupted. The triplets cried out, "Dad!" as Curtis gently lowered Alruna to the ground beside them.He pressed his nose to each of their cheeks, then, with a fierce roar, plunged into the heart of the battle. Ryull and Skoll remained to p

Chapter 10The Fourth Prince’s question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken implications. “Did I do something to offend the young omega?” His genuine confusion was evident, a stark contrast to the simmering tension in the room. None of us fully grasped the nuances of the situation—the reasons behind Kara’s outburst, or the prince’s unnervingly calm acceptance of her q words.Alruna, however, saw the flicker of thought in the omega’s eyes, a silent struggle to reconcile her feelings with the prince's actions. Her visions hadn't depicted any mistreatment; in fact, they showed the prince bending over backward to accommodate Kara, even when she was being utterly unreasonable. The prince, aside from Kara, had no other omegas under his protection. This wasn't to say there weren't women in the palace intended for him, but he hadn't formed any attachments, a fact that spoke volumes about his character.Kara, clinging fiercely to her mother, repeated saying she dont want to go, her small
