Amelia woke up to the smell of burning copper and wet ash.

Her eyes opened immediately.

For three years, that smell had meant danger. It was the smell of ruined cities, burning buildings, and the creatures that came after the apocalypse.

She reached beside her for a weapon, but her hand landed on silk.

Amelia stopped. Silk?

She pushed herself up and looked around.

The room was familiar, but it was not the place she had spent the last three years sleeping. There were no cracked walls, no broken windows, and no piles of supplies stacked beside her.

Her bedroom was exactly as she remembered it. The sheets were clean. The air conditioner was running. Her expensive furniture was still in place, and sunlight came through the large windows overlooking the city.

She stared outside. The city was still standing.

Cars moved along the roads below. People walked to work. Some were carrying coffee, others were talking on their phones.

There was no smoke covering the sky. No abandoned cars. No monsters.

Amelia slowly reached for the phone on her nightstand.

Her fingers shook as she turned on the screen.

October 1, 2026.

She stared at the date. Then she checked it again.

October 1, 2026.

Her breathing became faster. The apocalypse hadn't started.

Not yet.

She had gone back. Amelia grabbed the phone and opened her banking apps. The money was still there. Her accounts showed the same balances she remembered from before everything happened.

She opened the news, but there was nothing. Just arguments between politicians, celebrity news, stock market updates, and the usual reports about businesses and entertainment.

The world was normal. People were going about their lives without knowing what was coming.

Amelia lowered the phone. She had exactly one hundred and eighty days. Then the memories came back.

The hunger, the cold. The days when clean water was worth more than money. The day the sky changed and everything started falling apart.

The fallen angels. The demons. The creatures that came after them.

Amelia still didn't know why the apocalypse had happened. She had died before she could find out.

But the worst part had never been the monsters. It had been her family.

Vivienne had stolen her last bottle of clean water when Amelia was too weak to fight her for it.

Her parents had called her a liability and left her behind when the bunker started collapsing.

Her brother had traded her safety to a local warlord in exchange for medical supplies.

Amelia's fingers tightened around the phone. And then she remembered Ian.

Her husband.

For three years, she had treated Ian like a stranger because she believed he had only married her to get closer to Vivienne.

She had assumed his coldness meant he didn't care about her.

She had been wrong, because when the apocalypse came, her family abandoned her but Ian didn't.

He had dug her out of a collapsed trench with his bare hands. He had gone hungry so she could eat. When they were surrounded by corrupted beasts, Ian had stayed behind and fought them so she could escape.

He had given her five minutes. Five minutes that cost him his life. She could still remember the blood covering his clothes.

She could still hear his voice.

“Live.”

A tear slipped down Amelia's cheek. She wiped it away. There would be time to grieve later.

Ian was alive now. He was probably sitting in his office, dealing with work and completely unaware that the world would end in six months.

This time, Amelia would not lose him. She would save Ian. And she would make sure her family could never hurt either of them again.

As she sat there, Amelia felt something strange in the center of her chest. She frowned and placed a hand over it. The feeling spread through her body.

Amelia knew what it was.... An ability.

In her previous life, her ability had awakened very late. It had been weak and almost useless, allowing her to sense certain changes around her.

But this felt different. She looked at the glass of water sitting on the nightstand.

Amelia stared at it for a few seconds. Then she focused on the glass and thought about making it disappear.

It vanished and her eyes widened. Amelia looked at the empty space on the nightstand.

She could still see the glass, but not with her eyes.... It was somewhere else. Inside her mind was a dark space that seemed to have no end. The glass was floating inside it, untouched.

She thought about bringing it back and the glass appeared in her hand. The water inside had not moved.

Amelia stared at it.

Spatial storage. A sub-space ability.

She almost laughed. In the apocalypse, an ability like this was worth more than most weapons.

She could store food without worrying about it spoiling. She could carry huge amounts of supplies without filling a truck. She wouldn't have to leave everything behind whenever she moved.

She had one hundred and eighty days and she couldn't waste them. Amelia grabbed her phone and opened the notes app.

She started making a list. Food first. MREs. Rice, flour, grains, canned meat, canned vegetables, powdered milk, vitamins and seeds that could be planted later.

Then water; Bottled water, purification tablets, industrial filtration systems and water tanks.

Power. Diesel generators. Solar panels. Batteries. Fuel. Vehicles. Off-road vehicles that could survive damaged roads and carry supplies.

Medicine. Antibiotics. Painkillers. Surgical equipment. Trauma kits. Bandages. Weapons and protective equipment.

But there was one problem........ Money.

Amelia had money, but buying everything she needed in large quantities would attract attention.

She needed cash. She opened her financial portfolio. There was three luxury villas, several expensive cars, millions in stocks and jewelries.

She looked at everything she owned. Six months from now, most of it would mean nothing. A luxury car wouldn't save her from a monster. A diamond necklace wouldn't buy clean water.

And a stock certificate would be useless when the companies behind it stopped operating. She would sell everything she could.

Amelia continued scrolling through her assets until she reached one property. An old warehouse on Fourth Street in the industrial district.

The warehouse was tied up in a zoning dispute, which had made it almost impossible to sell. Her family considered it a useless property.

Amelia remembered it differently.

After the apocalypse began, the abandoned district remained relatively quiet while other areas were overrun by demons and fallen angels.

It eventually became one of the few places survivors fought to control.

In her previous life, her father and brother had taken control of the warehouse. They had turned it into their own stronghold. And when Amelia came looking for help, they had left her outside the gates.

That wouldn't happen again. The warehouse was still legally hers.... For now.

Amelia picked up her phone and called her private lawyer. He answered after the third ring.

“Ma'am? Good morning. Is everything alright?”

“I need a property transferred immediately.”

There was a pause. “Which property?”

“The warehouse on Fourth Street. I want the entire property transferred to my husband, Ian.”

Her lawyer was quiet for a moment. “The Fourth Street property? Ma'am, that property is currently involved in a family trust dispute. Your father specifically—”

“I don't care what my father said.”

Amelia stood and walked toward the windows. “I own sixty percent of that holding. Bypass the board and prepare the transfer documents. I want the entire property in Ian's name by noon.”

“But—”

“If my family asks, tell them it's part of a tax restructuring. I don't want anyone questioning the transfer. Just get it done.”

The lawyer hesitated. “I understand.”

“Good.”

Amelia looked down at the streets below. People were still going to work, children were going to school and Restaurants were opening.

Nobody knew what was coming.

“One more thing.”

“Yes, ma'am?”

“Liquidate my entire tech portfolio.”

Her lawyer went silent. “All of it?”

“All of it. I want the money available by the end of the week.”

“Ma'am, the market is doing extremely well. If you sell everything now, you'll lose millions in future growth.”

“Do it.”

She ended the call. Amelia placed her phone on the table and looked outside again.

Last time, she had entered the apocalypse with nothing but fear and the wrong people around her.

This time, she had knowledge, money and she had an ability. And most importantly, Ian was still alive.

She didn't know why the apocalypse had happened or what else might be waiting for the world.

But she knew what she had already survived. And this time, when the apocalypse came, she would be ready.

The boy’s mother rushed over, her purse falling open as she dropped beside him and pulled him into her arms.“Leo! Oh my God, Leo!”She checked him over and over again, then pulled at the torn fabric around his knee. She stopped. There was no blood. No wound. Not even a red mark. The woman stared at his knee before looking up at Amelia.“What... what did you do?” Her face had gone pale. She grabbed Amelia’s sleeve. “Are you a doctor? Some kind of specialist?”“No.” Amelia gently pulled her arm free. Her palm was still tingling from the strange warmth she had felt when she touched the boy. “I don't know. I just put my hand over it.”She glanced at the boy. “Just keep an eye on him.”“Thank you,” the woman whispered. “Thank you so much.”Amelia gave her a small nod before stepping away. She picked up her bag and walked toward the office tower before more people could gather.Once she stepped through the revolving glass doors, Amelia moved toward a quiet corner near the directory boards.

Amelia didn't move for several seconds.Vincent Reed was already preparing. That was the only explanation she could come up with for why a man who wasn't supposed to be in this sector for another four months had been at her warehouse before the apocalypse had even begun. She had spent the entire night believing she was the only person who knew what was coming. Now she wasn't so sure.If Reed was preparing this early, then there was a possibility that someone else had survived the previous timeline with their memories intact.Or perhaps he knew something she didn't. Either possibility was bad.She knew how he was. She had seen him two years into the fall, standing on top of an armored personnel carrier in the ruins of the lower district. He had been directing a group of armed survivors through a swarm of mutated beasts.By then, he had been hardened by everything that had happened. His face was scarred, and he was ruthless. He had become one of the leaders among the survivors.Amelia's

  • The Apocalypse Gave Me 180 Days   Unexpected problem

“Amelia Vance Joanne! What the hell have you done?”Her mother was shouting so loudly that Amelia had to hold the phone slightly away from her ear. The calm voice Catherine usually used was gone.Amelia didn't flinch. She leaned against the kitchen counter and looked toward the dining room.“Good evening, Mother.”“Don't you dare play polite with me,” Catherine Vance snapped. “The commercial lending board for the Midtown development project just called your father. They’ve frozen further funding for Phase Two."She continued, not waiting for a response. "The entire credit facility is under an internal compliance review because of a series of cross-shareholding anomalies flagged from your accounts. What did you pull out?”“My entire equity stake,” Amelia said calmly. “And I filed a formal non-participation notice regarding the collateral baseline. Without my shares guaranteeing the leverage ratio, the bank is legally required to halt the drawdowns.”“Are you insane?” Catherine shouted.

Amelia stepped out of Apex Distribution and got into her SUV. She sat behind the wheel for a moment, staring through the windshield. Her father had blocked her acquisition.Fine. If Marcus Vance wanted to interfere with her plans, then she could interfere with his.Amelia picked up her phone and called one of her father's biggest private lenders. The call connected after several rings.“Hello?” a voice answered.“Hi. It's Amelia Vance.” There was a brief pause.“Mrs. Vance. Is there a problem?”“Yes. I need you to review the outstanding credit facility attached to Vance Holdings' current expansion project.”There was another pause.“Why?”“Because I want the review moved forward. I believe there are several irregularities in the way the company's recent assets were valued.”The man's voice became more cautious. "Are you asking us to freeze the facility?”“I'm asking you to suspend any further disbursements until the review is complete.”“That could cause serious problems for Vance Hol

  • The Apocalypse Gave Me 180 Days   Unfinished Business

By three, Amelia was sitting in a small conference room at Apex Distribution's main office. Arthur Hadham sat across from her.He was in his late fifties and looked tired. His suit was expensive, but the dark circles under his eyes stood out. He kept rubbing his forehead as he explained the company's situation.“We've had some problems with the new sorting system,” he said, pointing toward a chart on the screen. “But the company still has strong potential. What we're looking for is a minority investor who can help us recover while we finish the expansion.”Amelia barely glanced at the screen. "Mr. Hadham.”Arthur stopped.“I don't want to invest.”He looked at her.She continued. “I want to buy eighty percent of the company.”Arthur stared at her. "You want a controlling interest?”“Yes.”“Mrs. Vance, your family is involved in luxury retail and real estate. Why are you suddenly interested in logistics?”“Because I want to diversify.” Amelia kept her expression calm. “Luxury assets ar

  • The Apocalypse Gave Me 180 Days   Special Ability

A truck horn suddenly sounded from the street outside.Amelia pushed the thought aside for the moment and headed back toward the gate. The first flatbed truck rolled in a few minutes later. The driver climbed down and flipped open a clipboard to check the delivery papers.“Fourth Street warehouse?”“Yes.”“Mrs. Vance?”“That’s me.”He handed her the paperwork. “Hundred tons of rice, fifty tons of beans, forty tons of flour, plus the other items,” he said, checking the line items. “This is the first partial shipment. The rest will be delivered in several loads over the next few days.”Amelia glanced at the papers. Everything matched.“Unload these inside.”The driver signaled to the workers.Amelia stayed nearby while they brought the first four pallets into the warehouse. She had already arranged for new digital locks to be installed, but after what she had found earlier, she needed to speed up the structural security work and get the cameras installed as soon as possible. She answere
