"I promise, I'll do anything to get you out of here," Nick whispered as he leaned once more to take my lips in his. "Believe me please, you have to Jodi." I smiled through our tangled lips.
His words were full of conviction that I didn't know for sure where he was getting it. He wanted to do something unthinkable just because of his testosterone imbalance. I might say it was absurd but I was starting to believe him. There was a tiny sliver of light inside me that was making me gamble all my trust on him.
I didn't know what the future holds but there was one thing I was certain in that exact moment, that Nick would be on my side and I longed for him to be on my side.
