Lizelle's Point of View
After I read the card, I threw it away. He was kind enough to help me out and give me a chance to get out of that auction hell. However, I'm scared that perhaps he was like that insane debt collector.
They will make you think they're nice and want to help you, but later on, they will get more— including your whole life and body.
I kicked the rock once more, and it rolled. My stomach growled as I took a deep breath.
'It would have been nice if I had some money left from what I owned to the debt collector.'
Wait...
I quickly rummaged through the jacket, hoping to find money, but I found nothing. Something shone on the coat just as I was about to give up.
As I looked, the light had gone out. I took off my jacket to get a better look at it. I waited three minutes for it to light up again, but nothing happened. I would have worn the coat again if I had just not heard a ring. I paused to listen more. Slowly, my ear followed the sound, which came from the jacket's secret pocket.
It shone brightly, a red light. However, I couldn't figure out how to open the secret pocket.
After minutes of trying hard to open it, I tore the fabric where the glow was. I grabbed the item right away and discovered a small chip.
I kept a close eye on it. After it stopped flashing, I noticed something that resembled a dot button. The sudden sound almost made my heart jump out of my heart. The chip is tiny, but the sound almost deafens me. I pressed the dot button, and someone immediately spoke to that chip.
"Are you planning on sleeping somewhere?" I'm unsure if the question is directed at the guard who owns the jacket or me. When I didn't respond, the chip's voice spoke again, "You. The woman at the auction. Why don't you respond?"
"Why? Why bother me now that I thought I could do whatever I wanted?" Even though he couldn't see, I rolled my eyes. "You should not have sent me here, made me enjoy myself outside, and then abruptly made me your servant. It's as if after I crave freedom, you suddenly said it was a joke."
"Don't worry, I'm just wondering if you have roof on your head or food that you can eat. I can help you if you want." The man's voice lacked any hint of deception. He didn't laugh either because his voice remained bored and chilly.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I don't want to doubt, but I don't know him. I also couldn't find a reason for him to help me. If he still wanted me to be his slave, shouldn't he have taken me with him in the first place?
I'm confused!
"I'm not interested, and could you please stop calling me? I can take care of myself!"
I answered him immediately because I didn't want to repeat what had happened to me with them showing 'help.' Just in case, this man may have done worse than the debt collector who brought me to the auction.
After I yelled at him with that thing, I threw the chip straight away while the cold breeze blew in my direction.
Before strolling again, I put on the jacket and slid my hands into the pocket.
Because of the many buildings where the guard and driver dropped me off, I couldn't find an alley to sleep in. I didn't want to return to my old sleeping quarters. It's all addicts and drug users; despite my distress, I'm not ready to use that. I was also concerned that they would later rape me. It's a different era now; even if you're best friends, they can still hurt you.
People passed by on their way home from work, whereas I had just sat down. I stared at the air and thought I was like a rabbit running away from a lion.
I want to fall asleep in this waiting chair and let the lonely evening take my soul. This isn't the kind of tiredness that can be remedied with a few hours of rest or sleep. I'm like a tired corpse hoping for the truck to crush into me.
But what exactly am I afraid of? In the end, I can't help but swallow my sadness, and even if I tell the wind, the only thing it can respond with is a cold hug that appears to be a sad embrace.
I looked up to prevent my tears from falling when the building lit up, and a large screen appeared. Even the building's mirrors are already made into screens. It's different now. It's just interesting to see how the city develops.
An announcer appeared on the screen, holding a piece of paper as a script.
"It's been two years since the heinous arson in the Smith family's home happened. Even the couple did not survive. What do we think happened to the sole heiress? Where could be Smith's heiress now?"
The announcer said a lot more, but the photo series left me speechless.
Those are my auction photos. I watched the people who watched, passed by, cracked jokes, and their laughter echoed in my head as if I were disgusting. I could even hear two pretty girls in front of me.
"She is beautiful! However, many men have already touched her in this case!"
"It's different when you're not used to hard work. You'll do anything to get up from a poor life," another woman replied and chuckled.
'That's not true!'
'There is no way that I would do that...'
My chest clenched at what they said. I felt my personality was so filthy. When the news ended, the next man to show up on the screen was a man holding a construction helmet.
The man who helped me with the auction! AGAIN!
They also showed his name.
Tyron Davis.
After that video, the screen died—the name of the building where the TV screen had been before flashed.
"T. D Multinational Group."
That was the name of the building and the name of the corporation on the card that was given to me. Before I made my decision, I inhaled and exhaled, and without any second thought, I dashed toward the building.
When I got closer, I noticed the man's car, and he was about to board.
"Wait a moment!"
The man didn't seem surprised and seemed to be expecting my arrival. I sighed as I approached him and told him what I needed.
"I'll do whatever you want. But I have a favor I want to ask you."
Lorenzo did not complain about my offer to him. The construction workers arrived just a few days ago and even exceeded what I expected to come. I didn’t know that he would take seriously what I said that needs to be made easier because it is better to teach people who want to study earlier. But I think it’s also good that he dug into what he worked for because of the 20+ he took to haul the equipment. They didn’t have a hard time. I was right when I said that they could not enter the vehicles because it was too muddy. The mixer truck also did not enter, so they were mixing the cement manually.Somehow there is a beginning even though they have only been here four days since they came here. As I watched all the cement, the worker’s Lorenzo stood beside me. I was wearing an orange dress and white shoes. When the strong wind passed through my face, my hair ruffled, so I put the sharpened hair back behind my ear. I saw him seriously staring at my face, but I didn’t pay attention to him. T
“What are you doing here?” When I was at the door, that was immediately what Lorenzo asked me. Maybe he saw my crazy laugh. Maybe hundreds of questions were going through his brain as to why I was laughing alone in this cabin, even though there was no one here except for me.“Why did you follow me?” I did not answer the question, but I answered with the question as well. I lost my enthusiasm for this plan. All the excitement I poured out vanished like a bubble. I didn’t look at him and still walked, even though he was blocking. As I approached the stairs to put on my slippers again, he grabbed my hand. No one answered our questions for each other.“You haven’t explained yet. I didn’t ask you why you weren’t ready to be my girlfriend even though you also showed that you like me.” His eyes were full of questions and he was ready to ask the next questions again, but I knew he was keeping himself from getting angry. No matter what he does, he will never get an answer from me, especially s
My jaws were left open with what he said. I was still in the revenge phase while he was already flirting. Take note: he is already asking for an answer. His question stunned me; I didn’t know what to answer. How can I tell him I’m not ready yet? That was my only remaining reason for answering his question. Can he just ask something else?“Y-you know, Lorenzo, I’m not ready for those things yet. And that’s not what we went for here, is it?” I hesitated to take his hand away from me and then smiled awkwardly. I didn’t want to offend him, but because he suddenly asked, I wasn’t feeling good. I’ll just assume I haven’t heard that.I left him there because his jaw stiffened. I’m hoping they complete what they’re going to do soon because I want us to leave here and I’m starting to feel uncomfortable with him again. I thought I’d feel better every time I saw him, but it was just momentary since he was acting the same way he had previously. Even though we don’t have a label, he becomes strict
I’m not sure when I fell asleep following what occurred to Adonis and me. I’d want to check the time, but I can’t find the clock. I attempted to rise, but I couldn’t because of the discomfort in my lower body. I suppose this proves that what happened last night was not a hoax. My body has begun to relax. When I checked around the little cabin, I couldn’t see Tyron. Is that all there is? I’m at a loss for words. It felt as though salt was being sprinkled over a new wound that had just been opened. The door opened just as I was ready to get up and leave because I felt he had abandoned me. It sounded loud as if the opening had shattered it. My heart skipped a beat because of what someone did when he came in, but it quickly calmed down when I saw him...He had fresh coconut juice and food on the plate. Those are, once again, veggies. Cole fed me fish daily, as if I had always wanted to eat anything. I’m thinking of eating worms. It felt as though the flavor of fish had been lodged in my to
“Hmm ... Haaa.”I catch my breath as I continue to keep my hands wrapped around Tyron's neck. My head and body are fully poisoned since they are already being taken away by his kisses and caresses. One of his legs is now in the center of my thigh, attempting to split my thighs while my two hands are elevated. As if there is no tomorrow, our mouths are blades. His every motion and breath is scorching, adding to the fire in my body.We can’t hear the rain since Tyron's cabin’s roof isn’t composed of galvanized iron. Thunder is the only sound that can be heard. Because we are already on the brink of the water, its roar is audible. It’s frightening to think that something horrible may happen to us while we’re here, since the sea will rise in response to the power of the rain.“Why are you such in a hurry?” I yanked him away from me, but he didn’t let go and turned my neck. He muttered there, which contributed to the sensation of what we were doing. Outside, I’m sure it was already dark. I
“Is everything all right?” I am now sitting outside while listing the names of children and older students. We are now at the long table as the six of us sit. I didn’t make a mistake and we will indeed be overwhelmed because even the other barrio has already registered. The volunteers have arrived.“Arturo Mendez and Arturo Mendez Jr., Miss. ”I wrote the name of the student; they are father and son. It’s good that somehow they don’t want to forget to study and they persevere. Even though my purpose here is different, the people here are also my priority.“Tyron.”That’s what the man next to the man said earlier. I looked up and glanced at Tyron. This man is very stubborn. He doesn’t even know how to listen to what I’m saying. I also did nothing but put his name. I don’t want to argue with him now because someone else will notice us.Ever since he told me about the ring, he has only become more and more clingy. I don’t know if he’s sweet sometimes or he just acts like that. Sometimes
