Next was Zaya. She entered the chamber with elegance and quiet pride. Throughout the contest, she had remained distant, speaking to no one, always observing, always alone.

Meanwhile, Aliyah sat nearby, struggling to steady herself. Her vision blurred, and her thoughts felt sluggish. She clenched her hands in her lap, trying to will the dizziness away before her name would be called.

Moments later, as Zaya exited the chamber with her usual grace, Belinda returned, this time holding a small cup of herbal tea. Without hesitation, she offered it to Aliyah.

“Drink this,” she said gently. “It should help.”

Aliyah took a sip, the warmth spreading through her as she tried to calm her nerves.

Just then, Rylan’s voice echoed across the chamber.

“Aliyah.”

Belinda gave her a reassuring tap on the shoulder. “You’ll be fine. The tea will kick in soon.”

Aliyah nodded, took a deep breath, and stood walking slowly, but determinedly, into the trial chamber.

Aliyah, Zaya, and Belinda stood poised and ready, their nerves tight yet their hearts unwavering, bracing themselves for the challenge that lay ahead. As the sky turned purple with twilight, the pack gathered around the stone arena. Glowing symbols lit up around the edges, giving off a strong, calm feeling. Alpha Leo and Luna Rosetta sat together, looking serious and hopeful for the one they supported. High above, the Elders sat quietly, their faces hard to read. This was the ultimate trial, an experience unlike any that had ever been documented or prepared for. With an air of authority, the Head Elder rose, his long robes sweeping across the stone floor as he lifted a curved staff adorned with brilliant silver symbols. “For the final challenge,” the Head Elder declared, his voice booming across the

Time seemed to stand still. The last time they’d looked at each other like this was prior to the first trial.“You made it this

Later that night, all the female contestants were summoned as Beta Rylan addressed them.“You were each given two questions,” Rylan began, his voice steady and firm. “Some answered with clarity. Others faltered, either through silence, deceit, or fear.”He paused, scanning the group carefully.“Of the thirteen who stood before the elders, four have failed. The rest have proven themselves worthy.”Rylan raised his hand, eyes sharp.“If you hear your name, you advance to the third trial.”A tense murmur rippled through the group as hearts pounded in anticipation.Rylan called out the names: “Tania, Zaya, Aliyah, Belinda, Jasmine…” and continued until he reached the ninth name. Those whose names were not called bowed their heads quietly and left.Aliyah felt a rush of relief, a heavy weight lifting from her chest.Belinda, however, showed little emotion about her success.
