Faith’s P.O.V

“What are you loser doing here?”

Startled at that voice, I turned to find Nik standing near the edge of the trees, looking at us incredulously. But when she saw me, her eyes widened in shock.

“Faith? What are you doing with them?” She asked me, looking back at Cole and Sagar. “I thought it was some creep looking in on the women’s team practicing our match. I’m sorry…I didn’t realize that you were here as well.”

“O-oh…I…um…” my mind felt incredibly numb at the moment to come up with any kind of proper excuse. What was I doing here again? I couldn’t even remember…

“We were just chatting.” Thankfully, Cole came up with the lamest excuse he could find; but I wasn’t complaining. At least he could still come up with an excuse. “She was asking us why Brandon didn’t come to school the past couple days.”
