The School Trip

"Good morning Julia hello WAKE UP" yelled Abigail.

I shot open my eyes in horror as I could hear the pounding of my heartbeat the moment she shouted. I was confused as to why she woke me up or as to why she was in my house. In the first place, as tired and annoyed as I was, I had the strength to ask.

"Why are you in my house so early in the morning?" I said as I fell back on my pillow with my hand resting on my chest.

"Did you forget we have a school trip today I tried calling you yesterday, but you weren't answering?"

Then I recalled getting a call from Abigail, but I was getting all cozied up with Jamie over the phone. I sighed of exhaustion as I wobbled off the bed like someone who had too much beer to drink. I went to the bathroom to take a quick worm relaxing bath that brought me back to reality to tell me I don't have much time. I ran out of the shower, got dressed, and ran out the door. Before I knew it, my mom was rushing downstairs, shouting my name. I took a brief moment to hear what she had to say.

"Julia your bike is around back someone came by and dropped it off" I ran around back to go grab my bike to see it nicely resting on my fence.

I was surprised he actually remembered. Can you imagine the school news headline? The famous and rich Jamie Williams laid hands on the crappy new kid's bike. After getting a good chuckle from my crazy imagination, I hopped on my bike and went to school. Just as we entered the school, we came upon two boys in front of the school bus posing. At the same time, the bus driver honks and shouts at them through the window. Didn't pay much attention to the boys, but deep inside, we were praising them for holding up the bus.

We chained up our bikes and ran onto the bus. After a few seconds of searching for seats, I felt someone grab my hand when I realized it was Jamie signaling me to sit next to him. My heart dropped into my stomach as I could feel the rage brewing around my best friend; I still don't know why she hates him so much.

I didn't want my best friend to hate me because of him, so I tugged and pulled. Still, Jamie wasn't letting go, so I whispered to Abigail to sit without me. At first, she was stubborn. After a few minutes of trying to get through to her, she finally went to find another seat. Abigail sat two rows behind us.

I didn't want Abigail to see me communicating with Jamie, so I plugged my headphones in and listened to some music. That was when I noticed the two boys in the seats behind us. Were the ones in front of the bus? They were friends with Jamie, nosy as I was. I wanted to ask Jamie what they were doing. Still, eventually, I stopped paying attention to Jamie and his friends and completely zoned out listening to my favorite K-pop music all the way to the museum.

When we got there, we were greeted by the friendliest tour guy who looked like he was in his mid-thirties, but he would give me the creepiest glares that made my skin crawl from time to time.

I tried my best to ignore it. Finally, half an hour later, I wanted to use the bathroom during the tour, but I was too creeped out to ask the tour guy. Still, I had no choice. He was the only adult in our group, and it would be rude if I just walked off. I could get reported for walking out of class, so I got the courage to ask him if I could use the bathroom and where it was located. He pointed to where the bathroom was, and I ran to the bathroom, locked the door, and got down to business.

A few minutes later, I heard someone entering the bathroom. I didn't think much of it, this is a public bathroom after all, but that's when things got really unsettling to hear all the doors in the bathroom being kicked open.

So I quickly pulled up my undergarment and stood by the door listening and waiting. That was when I saw under the gap men's shoes facing my door.

I gathered as much force as possible to put pressure on the door, getting ready for whatever this person was about to do. Before I could check to see if he was gone, he started pounding on the door. I began to panic, cry yelling for help.

Before I knew it, I heard Jamie's voice yelling at whoever was pounding on the door.

I heard groaning noise's behind the bathroom door. I stood there listening and waiting for it to end.

Before I knew it, I heard someone sprinting out the door and Jamie notifying me it was safe. I quickly opened the door to see Jamie washing the blood off his fist.

"Who was that," I said with a crack in my voice, and my eye's all swollen from crying

"It was that stupid ass pervert for a tour guy," he shouted in rage, still washing the blood off his hand. I just stood there terrified as I tried to process what just happened before I knew it; I felt the warmth of Jamie's hand resting on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner," he whispered, pulling me closer for a hug.

Before we knew it, we heard police sirens outside the female's bathroom. We went outside to see two police officers placing handcuffs on Jamie's friends. Before we could ask what was going on, one of the police officers detained Jamie as well. I tried asking the officers what's going on and why they were being arrested.

"These four boys will be charged for assaulting an elderly," stated the policeman. I glanced into the ambulance and saw that the elderly they referred to was the tour guy with his face brutality damaged. I tried my best to explain to the officer what actually happened. It took me a while to get their attention, but eventually, they escorted me to the police station and took me straight into the interrogation room.

"Hi my name is detective Samuel and this is detective Martin what's your name," he said with a smile.

"My name is Julia Watson," I said while clearing my throat.

"Well, Julia I heard you've witnessed the attack would you kindly explain what happened," He said while placing both hands on the table.

"I was in the bathroom when it happened. I saw under the gap of the bathroom door I saw men's shoes before I knew it he started pounding on the door and that's when I heard Jamie's voice yelling."

"And who's Jamie" he quoted while lifting his right eyebrow.

"The guy you just arrested in the black jeans and white t-shirt but anyways I heard groaning noises and someone sprinting out the door and Jamie calling my name to come out can you see he's innocent," I said while looking at both detectives looking at me in disbelief

"Don't you believe me?" I said before I knew it, someone called them out of the room. After a few hours of waiting, they returned with evidence showing camera footage outside the girl's bathroom. I immediately felt relieved. Jamie and his friends were immediately discharged, and we all received a ride home.

I hopped out of the car, thanked the police officer, and waved goodnight. I walked inside to see Abigail and my mom sitting in the living room waiting for me, I told them what happened, and they were just happy nothing terrible happened. I informed my mom that I was tired. Before I even had the chance to rise from my seat Abigail grabbed me by the hand, pulling me upstairs, and started asking questions about Jamie. There was no point in lying. She already figured it out.

"Your right Jamie and I have been talking but just as friends so relax," I said while slowly walking to my bed.

"Julia you and Jamie can't be friends," she said, sounding extremely jealous.

"Why not," I asked while lifting my right eyebrow. She slowly came up to me and sat next to me, putting her hand around my shoulder.

"Julia you saw for yourself how disgusting he really is sleeping with girls dumping them probably abusing them I don't want to hear you've been taken for granted by a guy who you call your friend you've got me you don't need him," she whispered maybe she's right Jamie is a player I bet he was just trying to see how fast he could call me his next Whore, so I grabbed my phone and deleted Jamie's phone number and focus on what really matters and that's my studies.

Three days went by since I stop talking to Jamie, and he also stopped trying to talk to me. I could tell he started going back to his old ways.
